's global image, emerging technologies policy practitioner Venkat Tadikonda said that AP is going to host India's first big ticket project on quantum computing.
Addressing an awareness programme on quantum computing jointly organized by Science City of Andhra Pradesh and Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala, Vijayawada here on Monday, Venkat quantum computing and algorithms, fundamentals of quantum computing.
'Applications of quantum computing in different industries are going to change the land scape of technological transformation in the state. Quantum sensors and their applications in high-precision measurements would help Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and advancements in secure communication systems,' said Venkat.
He said that quantum physics has brought revolutionary findings which even Einstein could not predict.
He said that development of quantum computing would surely place India among the top of the world.
Science City of AP CEO Venkateswarlu Kesineni has said that chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is committed to develop a science city in Amaravati and science parks across the state. He said that science parks would ignite young brains and make them think beyond the box.
He said that the chief minister's dream project-Quantum valley is going to bring huge investments to the state in the IT sector. He said that it would also help generate huge employment.
Subsequently, Venkat Tadikonda engaged with students during the interactive session and addressed their queries on Quantum computing. Dr. V. V. S. Kumar, Principal, Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala, Dr. A. Suhasini, Head of the Department, Statistics, M. Geetha Madhuri, Head of the Department, Physics were also present.

Singapore: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday met Singapore's minister for manpower and minister-in-charge of energy and science and technology in the ministry of trade and industry, Dr Tan See Leng, to discuss enhanced collaboration in key sectors including green energy, data centres, logistics, and housing. During the meeting, held as part of his second-day visit to Singapore, Chandrababu Naidu highlighted Andhra Pradesh's significant initiatives in the green energy sector. He called for greater cooperation from Singaporean firms in projects related to green hydrogen, transmission corridors, and port development. The Chief Minister also emphasised the need for Singapore's participation in establishing data centres and elaborated on the state's rapid expansion of its port infrastructure. Recognising Singapore's global strength in logistics, Chief Minister Naidu sought its support in implementing best practices across Andhra Pradesh's ports and logistics sectors. He also underscored the importance of Singapore's involvement in human resources, science and technology, and trade collaboration. Addressing concerns faced by Singaporean companies during the previous administration, the Chief Minister assured Minister Tan that measures are being taken to resolve those issues, emphasising that his visit reflects a commitment to transparency and rectification. He affirmed that his government is investment-friendly and deeply values its relationship with Singapore. Recalling past successful collaborations, Chandrababu Naidu cited the development of Singapore Township in Hyderabad during his earlier tenure as a symbol of admiration for Singapore's planning and efficiency. He also noted that Hyderabad once adopted nighttime street-cleaning practices inspired by observations in Singapore. To further solidify the partnership, the Chief Minister extended a formal invitation to Minister Tan to attend the upcoming Global Investors Summit scheduled for November in Visakhapatnam. In response, Minister Tan See Leng expressed Singapore's keen interest in working with Andhra Pradesh in the fields of housing and subsea cables, affirming that both sides could jointly pursue initiatives in these areas. The Minister also mentioned Singapore's ongoing collaboration with the World Bank on green energy and housing-related programmes. Reminiscing about his previous visit to Hyderabad and his earlier meeting with Chandrababu Naidu, minister Tan expressed optimism about deepening bilateral cooperation. The meeting was attended by Andhra Pradesh Ministers Nara Lokesh, P. Narayana, and TG Bharat along with senior officials from the State government.

He conveyed this message to Indian High Commissioner Dr. Shilpak Ambule. In a meeting attended by Ministers Lokesh, P. Narayana, TG Bharat, and other senior officials, CM Naidu outlined the new policies implemented by the Andhra Pradesh government aimed at attracting investment. He revealed that the state has set an ambitious target of 160 gigawatts in the green energy sector, with green hydrogen projects already approved. Naidu also announced plans for the establishment of Quantum Valley in Amaravati, which is part of the India Quantum Mission, and confirmed that a Google data centre will be constructed in Visakhapatnam. He stated that the Rayalaseema region offers favourable conditions for investments in defence, aerospace, electronics, and the automobile industry and expressed his desire for Singaporean investments to be directed towards Andhra Pradesh as a gateway into India. During the meeting, High Commissioner Ambule noted that 83 percent of the housing in Singapore is public housing. Minister Narayana highlighted various projects underway in Andhra Pradesh and sought necessary support to facilitate investment in the state. Meanwhile, Minister Lokesh elaborated on the government's initiatives in the education sector.

BENGALURU: Karnataka Minister for Science and Technology NS Boseraju said India's first quantum computer is already operational in Bengaluru, and Karnataka is leading the country in quantum innovation. The minister was responding to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's tweet stating that Andhra Pradesh is set to deploy India's first indigenously built 8-qubit quantum computer this November in Amaravati. 'While celebrating our progress, we must also cultivate a culture of considering facts and figures,' the minister stated in a sharp response to Naidu's claims. Boseraju said that Karnataka, particularly Bengaluru, has already made significant progress as the hub of India's quantum sector. A prime example is the 25-qubit quantum computer 'Indus', indigenously developed by QpiAI and operational in Bengaluru, he stated. He highlighted that India's first Quantum Research Park has been established at the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc). The state cabinet has approved Rs 48 crore for the development of its second phase. Several initiatives are underway to ensure the holistic growth of the quantum sector in Karnataka. A Quantum Summit is being organised in Bengaluru on July 31 and August 1. A roadmap to transform Karnataka into a global quantum powerhouse is being prepared, which will be unveiled on July 31 by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, read a statement from the minister's office.
