Vernon Kay has shared an endearing story about his daughter's encounter with Oasis legend Noel Gallagher, which left her 'red-faced' after receiving a thoughtful gift.
With anticipation building for Oasis's reunion tour kicking off tonight (July 4) at Cardiff's Principality Stadium, Vernon played Songbird—one of the band's more obscure tracks—on his BBC Radio 2 programme, expressing his hope for a setlist packed with 'bangers.'
In the lead-up to the band's much-anticipated comeback, he revealed plans to take his daughter Amber, whom he shares with Tess Daly, to see them live, expressing pride in her for discovering Oasis on her own.
He recounted the moment she met the iconic musician, noting how surprised she was by the encounter.

Speaking on his Radio 2 show, Vernon explained how Noel Gallagher made the thoughtful gesture: 'Noel signed a little something-something for her when he did Piano Room, which was really sweet.'

He continued, describing her reaction: 'She went red – it's very rare that she goes flushed.'
He added: 'But he wrote a lovely, simple message on it to her—he personalised it. It was great. It was really nice.'

The memorable meeting took place after Gallagher performed on BBC Radio 2's Piano Room with his band, The High Flying Birds, earlier in 2023.

The iconic group is set to perform a series of concerts across 13 countries, including 17 dates in Wales, England, Scotland, and Ireland, before flying out to Canada on August 24.

The tour was announced last year, almost 15 years to the date of their split, and a move that fans never believed would happen due to the tensions between Liam, 52, and Noel, 58. Ever since Noel walked away, the two siblings have hurled insults at one another across social media and in interviews. But now, those days are firmly in the past with the two brothers walking out on stage each night holding hands, as though there had never been any bad blood. Currently, the band has two more shows at Wembley Stadium before heading to Edinburgh and then over to Dublin to kick off the global leg of the tour, before heading back to Wembley in September. It comes after Cruz Beckham 'steals' his dad's tiny white trunks and family have epic response. One place that isn't on the tour dates, though, is Italy. But this could all change in the coming weeks. The Rome City Councillor for Major Events has suggested that there are currently talks to have the band perform in the capital city, Rome. Alessandro Onorato said: "Oasis in the capital? These are live shows for companies that organise events all over the world, and the financial aspect is crucial. Negotiations are underway." He went on to tell Radio Sei that in the past, Rome had missed out on huge opportunities. He explained: "Organising a large event in Rome is very complicated; in the past, Rome has been the 'city of missed opportunities.'" It's not the first time that Onorato has been vocal about wanting Liam and Noel to perform in the capital. In September last year, days after the reunion was announced, he said: "In 2026, Oasis could take their tour to Europe. And yes, we've applied to host them in Rome." Oasis: What's Their Story? Oasis fans are making history at Wembley once again – but this time, it's not about record-breaking ticket sales; it's about pints. According to new figures released by Delaware North, the company behind Wembley Stadium's catering operations, Oasis fans have set a new stadium record by guzzling more than a quarter of a million pints of beer per night during the band's current run of shows. That's not a typo, that's 250,000 pints being poured every evening the Gallagher brothers take the stage in London and put on a show many called 'a spiritual experience.' With three out of seven scheduled Wembley gigs completed, and two more lined up this weekend (Saturday, August 2, and Sunday, August 3), the numbers are already staggering, and the final two dates in September are poised to push the total even higher.
