Valerie Bertinelli celebrates 65th birthday with lingerie photo, admits she's been told she's ‘too much'
On Wednesday, the "One Day at a Time" star posted a video montage of dozens of photos, writing, "Went through it all in the last handful of years and I'm so grateful for the downs as much as I am for all of the ups I am blessed to experience. The light at the end of the tunnel is finally here. I can see it. I feel it."
She continued, "I love my family. I love my friends. I love all of you out there supporting me and being a part of our community here.I am one lucky and grateful mofo."
Among the images Bertinelli shared was a throwback to a lingerie photo she took in a bathroom last year, one she posted as part of feeling "acceptance" of her life and body.
"At some point I will talk about the madness my body has been through this year," she wrote at the time.
"But right now every lump bump wrinkle and saggy part of me just feels acceptance and simple appreciation to be standing in front of a mirror in a hotel bathroom in downtown Manhattan ready to color my roots late on a Monday night."
Part of that journey involved abstaining from alcohol and focusing on the future.
Bertinelli also shared another element of acceptance on Thursday when she appeared on "The Drew Barrymore Show."
During a segment celebrating an audience member's makeover, relationship expert Damona Hoffman offered the advice, "If someone thinks you're too much, then they are not enough, and that is not your problem."
Bertinelli asked the panel and crowd, "How many people have been told they're too much?"
She, Barrymore and others in the studio all raised their hands.
The 65-year-old split from her boyfriend, Mike Goodnough, last fall after dating for 10 months. She first went public with the relationship in March 2024 but ended things in November.
Goodnough recently spoke out on social media, accusing the former Food Network star of taking "backhanded swipes" at him in her Instagram posts when he spoke out about speculation that the two were engaged in a subtle online feud.
He responded to the many "messages and replies" he said he had received, which implied that the duo "appear to be communicating with each other via our Instagram posts and stories."
"That is not the case," he wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post. "I have never at any time posted something on social media for the purposes of communicating with someone indirectly when I know them personally and have ample ways to reach them directly."
He asserted that he still cared for Bertinelli despite their split, writing, "I have love for her and I always will."
In a February Instagram post, Bertinelli reflected on what makes relationships work, writing that she had "fumbled the last true good man I met."
Bertinelli heaped praise on Goodnough in a since-deleted post that she shared last month. According to People magazine, the Delaware native wrote that she felt "so lucky to have gotten to know him," and she had been "irreversibly changed by him for the better."
Bertinelli was previously married to Tom Vitale from 2011 to 2022, and the actress described their divorce as "wicked."
Prior to her marriage to Vitale, Bertinelli was married to musician Eddie Van Halen from 1981 to 2007.

Meta's AI voice translation feature rolls out globally
On Tuesday, Meta rolled out its new voice dubbing feature globally. The Reels feature uses generative AI to translate your voice, with optional lip-syncing. Mark Zuckerberg first previewed the feature at Meta Connect 2024. At launch, the translations are only available for English to Spanish (and vice versa). The company says more languages will arrive later. At least at first, it's restricted to Facebook creators with 1,000+ followers. However, anyone with a public Instagram account can use it. The tool trains on your original voice and generates a translated audio track to match your tone. The lip-syncing add-on then matches your mouth's movements to the translated speech. The demo clip the company showed last year was spot-on — eerily so. You can choose whether to add lip syncing and preview before posting. (Meta) To use the feature, choose the "Translate your voice with Meta AI" option before publishing a reel. That's also where you can choose to add lip syncing. There's an option to review the AI-translated version before publishing. Viewers will see a pop-up noting that it's an AI translation. Meta says the feature works best for face-to-camera videos. The company recommends avoiding covering your mouth or including excessive background music. It works for up to two speakers, but it's best to avoid overlapping your speech. The company frames the feature as a way for creators to expand their audiences beyond their native tongues. As such, it included a by-language performance tracker, so you can see how well it's doing in each language. YouTube launched a similar feature last year. Apple has gotten in on the action, too: Messages, Phone and FaceTime apps have live translation tools in iOS 26.

Justin Bieber impersonator dupes Las Vegas nightclub, sings on stage
The nightclub's parent company said in a statement that the impersonator orchestrated "an elaborate and multi-step ruse." Justin Bieber joined a popular DJ onstage and performed at a Las Vegas nightclub. Except that he didn't. Gryffin, a San Francisco-born DJ and music producer, was performing at the XS Nightclub inside the Wynn Las Vegas hotel on Aug. 16 when he was told that Bieber was at the venue and wanted to perform, he said in a video posted on his Instagram. "His 'team' said he wanted to perform 'Sorry,'" a text overlay on the video read. "Little did I know I was about to be sorry." The Bieber on stage with Gryffin was not the Grammy award-winning singer, but rather an impersonator. The DJ's video added that the look-alike performed on stage for several minutes and "sounded like Justin Bieber." "biebergate2025," the DJ captioned his post. Nightclub says impersonator carried out 'elaborate' dupe Wynn Las Vegas said in a statement to USA TODAY that the impersonator duped the club's staff. "After an elaborate and multi-step ruse by him and his advance team, a Justin Bieber impersonator was granted access to the XS stage," the statement reads. "As soon as the error was recognized, he was removed from the resort and denied future entry." In Gryffin's video, a man with a buzzed haircut, tattoos and sunglasses is seen performing Bieber's hit song, "Sorry." "Bieber in the house, y'all," Gryffin says into a microphone. Following the performance, the video shows Gryffin saying, "That was insane," before someone puts their arm around him and breaks the news that the singer on stage was not the real Bieber. "No way," Gryffin says, to which the individual responds, "Swear on my life." Desclos's manager, Julien Colas, said in a written statement to USA TODAY that he went to the club as an impersonator and someone asked if he would like to perform. "We did many performance as impersonator," Colas said. "What have we to won by saying we are the real one? That's not our way to work. Cause, yes, it's a job. We don't want to hurt anyone." Ariana DeBose mourns death of her mom at 57: 'My favorite person'
Ariana DeBose is in mourning after the loss of her mom and "best friend." The Oscar-winning "West Side Story" star, 34, shared in a touching Instagram post on Aug. 19 that her mother, Gina Michelle DeBose, has died at age 57 after a three-year battle with ovarian cancer. "She was my favorite person, my biggest fan and toughest critic," DeBose said. "My best friend. She was my date to every important moment in my professional and personal life — and I wouldn't have it any other way. It had always been the two of us for as long as I can remember. She fought like hell to give me a good life, a good education and every opportunity in the world. I wouldn't be where I am without her." DeBose grew up in North Carolina, and her mother, a social studies teacher, raised her as a single parent. "Because it was just the two of us, we kind of raised each other," the "Hamilton" alum told Tamron Hall in 2023. In a 2016 interview with The Great Discontent, DeBose shared that she and her mom "lived with my grandmother for a portion of my youth," and her mother and grandmother helped her get into dance. "It was financially challenging because, at that point, it was just me and my mom," she said. "She was starting out in her professional career, so it was tough, but she took me to Dance Theater of New Bern." In her Instagram tribute, DeBose noted her mother's "life's purpose, aside from being my mom, was educating young people," and she had almost 30 years of experience as a public school teacher.
