'Young Sheldon' Star's 'Hauntingly Beautiful' Taylor Swift Cover Shocks Fans
Young Sheldon alum Mckenna Grace's "hauntingly beautiful" take on an emotional track has left fans in shock.
The 18-year-old recently posted a cover of the Eras Tour superstar's "Nothing New," one of the vault tracks released with her rerecorded version of Red. It details the worries of a young woman in the age and appearance-obsessed entertainment industry, calling out the hypocrisy Swift faced as a teenager in the spotlight.
The same track was recently covered by the artist known as Role Model—his performance drew mixed reactions from Swifties, who demanded to know, "what does a man know about" this? Grace's cover, however, drew high praise from fans.
"Uh oh we have a double threat over here 😌," one wrote of the actress, while someone else predicted her casting in a highly anticipated—though currently postponed—live-action Disney remake.
"She will play Rapunzel mark my words," they declared.
"Oh wow that's actually a hauntingly beautiful cover," another Swiftie admitted, while another newcomer to Grace's talent replied, "beautiful voice, I loved it 😍."
Many were unfamiliar with the former child star, with one wondering, "Who is this diva?" and another suggesting, "I might have to stan," after hearing the cover.
Meanwhile, those who've seen her in countless of their favorite shows and movies over the years, from Once Upon a Time's Young Emma to Amazon's Troop Zero, quipped, "imagine not knowing her."
Fans of the up-and-coming singer encouraged those unfamiliar with her to "go check her music too," emphasizing, "shes really talented 😁."
"Her own music is so good, too!" another fan agreed. "Y'all should check it out."
Grace's debut album, Bittersweet 16, was released in 2023. She also has several singles and and the Autumn Leaves EP under her belt.

Delta Responds to Moana Girl's Viral Singing During Hours-Long Flight Delay
Delta Air Lines was forced to release a statement after customers grew furious when, during a two-hour flight delay, a young girl essentially held passengers hostage with her rendition of "How Far I'll Go" from Disney's 2016 Moana. "We appreciate the customer sharing her talents and apologize to our customers for the delay in their travels," a Delta Air Lines spokesperson said in a statement to Newsweek. The flight's takeoff to Orlando was initially delayed for two hours due to bad weather. Things got worse when the flight circled its destination city for another two hours. It's unclear when, but at some point it seems like the young girl was invited by a flight attendant to sing on the flight crew's intercom system. According to video shared on social media, some passengers started singing along. But not everyone was entertained by the impromptu performance. Passengers on the flight took to social media and posted the video while also sharing their disdain at yet another hiccup to their already-delayed person commented, "This is actually my worst nightmare and personal hell." Another added, "[N]o hate to the girl, but the PARENTS should know how to read a room. not everything should be centered around your child. she isnt moana, life isnt a Disney movie." A woman who was on the flight shared, "We were delayed by about almost an hour and a half, two hours to even get on the plane, so tensions are already high. People are pissed, they've missed connections, and some people just wanna get home.' Some passengers were furious as their Delta in-flight entertainment screens were interrupted as the young girl performed the entire song. As one TikToker suggested, "NEVER PERFORM FOR PEOPLE BEING HELD CAPTIVE 😂😂😂." Murderbot star Noma Dumezweni on the culture that's made her
Born in Swaziland before moving to England as a child, Noma Dumezweni is an actress whose prolific career spans theatre, film and television. She recently starred as Queen Selina in Disney's live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, with other film credits including Mary Poppins Returns. On the small screen, Dumezweni has appeared in Only Murders in the Building, The Watcher, Normal People and Doctor Who. On stage, she played Hermione in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which won her a Laurence Olivier award for best supporting actress, and she has performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company. In 2006, she won the Olivier Award for her performance in A Raisin in the Sun. Dumezweni is currently in Apple TV+'s sci-fi series Murderbot opposite Alexander Skarsgård, based on Martha Wells' books about a security android who is horrified by human emotion, yet drawn to its vulnerable 'clients'. I'm currently listening to the Ezra Collective album Where I'm Meant To Be. I still have to catch up with more recent releases. They give me so much joy – to my ear, they are so creatively free, beautiful! The book that influenced me the most is Perfume: The Story of a Murderer by Patrick Süskind. I felt such a revelation in my own awareness of my senses. It's the history of the making of perfumes and a stunning perspective on how we humans, in all our rancid and sublime emanations, wish to connect. I'm currently reading All Fours by Miranda July. I actually paused for a few weeks as I am a postmenopausal woman… ha! The book cause a lot of feelings to come up. She's excellent. I am also loving Sonny Boy by Al Pacino. I have many favourite films. Spy with Melissa McCarthy is my screen comfort food! Rose Byrne is magnificent, Peter Serafinowicz is ridiculously out there, and I have to bow down to Jason Statham's brilliant commitment, playing with the glorious comedy genius that is McCarthy. I also loved the film There's Still Tomorrow from writer, actor, director and comedian Paola Cortellesi. I went down a rabbit hole finding out more about this Italian talent. Brava! I'm currently watching Matlock with the great Kathy Bates alongside a stunning newcomer, Skye P Marshall. The best hotel room in the world is at the Four Seasons Hotel in Mexico City. I went for the first time last year for a wedding, and I get it now! My favourite building is somewhere along London's South Bank, depending on the light. This year, I'm looking forward to my kid finishing their high-school journey. What's next is so exciting! Murderbot begins when she finishes, so we'll watch together. If I could have designed one thing it would have been the Citymapper app – wherever you travel, it's so brilliant. If I could bring back one trend it would be looking people in the eye; acknowledging their presence with a simple 'hey' or nod as they pass you by. People more often seem shocked when I smile and say 'hello'. It brings them into the present. We need that.
