Wednesday fans share devastating theory about Enid Sinclair's 'death'
Season 2 of Wednesday is set to drop on Netflix come August 6, and the latest trailer teases a chilling psychic vision from Wednesday Addams herself, portrayed by Jenna Ortega.
In this eerie premonition, she witnesses the grave of her best mate and roomie Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers), with the gut-wrenching twist that it seems to be Wednesday's own doing.
"Enid dies, and it's all my fault," we hear Wednesday confess. With Enid's life in peril, Wednesday is thrust into a desperate race to save her friend.
The gripping trailer has sparked a flurry of fan theories on Reddit, debating the likelihood of Enid's demise.
Reddit user Mishtimihu posits that Wednesday's foreknowledge of Enid's potential end will wreak havoc on her psyche, causing a rift between the two friends, reports the Express.
They elaborate: "My theory is that she gets this vision early in the season and it really messes with her. She doesn't tell Enid right away because she's scared and trying to figure it out on her own. She starts pulling away, thinking maybe she's the cause of Enid's future death.
"Enid notices. She was excited to see Wednesday after the break, but Wednesday acts distant and cold. Feeling rejected and confused, Enid starts getting closer to Bruno, who's just there for her. And yeah, he looks a lot like Wednesday, which makes the whole situation more complicated.
"Eventually, probably near the end of Part 1, they have a fight. Enid calls her out for shutting her out. And that's when Wednesday finally tells her about the vision. Maybe not even on purpose, she just blurts it out during the argument. Something like, 'I saw your grave. I thought I'd get you killed if I stayed close'.
They added: "Enid's hurt. Not just about the vision, but because Wednesday didn't trust her with it sooner. She walks away. Then the part ends on a cliffhanger, possibly with something off about Bruno that raises questions."
ItsThe_____ForMe believes Enid's fate will be the cliffhanger between Parts 1 and 2 of the season.
Raylalayla agrees: "I think that's probably mostly right. Enid will either die or find out about her incoming death in episode 4 and I also think that's when Tyler might escape."
Another fan, Icy_Gene_7574, suggests the black tears Wednesday sheds in the trailer are a sign of mourning for Enid.
Fans have discussed how the black tears relate to intense emotions, adding: "As for Enid, if she passes away it would all be Wednesday's fault cause Wednesday is the one who cracks cases and solves mysteries and she drags Enid. I think that's why she cries black tears for Enid."
