As weekend two of the Battlefield 6 beta gets into swing, folks are increasingly skeptical of all these small to medium maps.
The lack of a truly "big" Battlefield map was the loudest criticism coming out of last weekend's playtest, and the only new map added this week isn't squashing worries that Battlefield 6 is prioritizing the Call of Duty crowd: Empire State, an infantry-only map with zero vehicles, is the smallest one we've seen yet.
The cries for clear skies and open ranges haven't inspired an official response from Battlefield Studios, but DICE lead producer David Sirland assured fans that "large maps exist" earlier this week.
"Speed is a factor of map size. We picked these maps to make sure we hit the full-octane version of Battlefield on the head—and made everyone see we can handle that too," Sirland wrote on X. "Large maps exist, and the tempo scales accordingly; you'll be able to see soon enough!"
Even still, the way Battlefield 6 labels its modes has some questioning if EA has a different definition of "large" than the rest of us. The new Attack & Defend playlist, consisting of Rush and Breakthrough, is listed as "large-scale battles," despite Rush's cramped, aggressively linear 12v12 map layouts.
That disparity is already inspiring some decent memes: "Leaked" images of new Battlefield 6 maps that are literally just Call of Duty maps.
Devs have confirmed they are adding another large scale map this weekend from r/Battlefield
New Medium-Large Scale Map Leaked Before Release from r/Battlefield
Sirland's comments about large maps prompted me to take a second look at BF Studios' official website to determine how much large-scale Battlefield-ing we should actually expect from its nine launch maps, judged by how many vehicles are present. Fewer generally means smaller. Here's what I've got:
Siege of Cairo: Small, infantry-focused, tanks only
Iberian Offensive: Small, tanks and jeeps
Empire State: Small, infantry-only, no vehicles
Liberation Peak: Medium, all vehicles
Operation Firestorm: Medium or large (depending on how closely it sticks to the BF3 version), all vehicles
Saints Quarter: Small, infantry-only, no vehicles
New Sobek City: Described as "all-out war across construction sites and massive sand dunes" with jeeps, tanks, helicopters, but no jets
Mirak Valley: Described as "the largest map at launch", all vehicles
Manhattan Bridge: Described as "close-quarters" with helicopters, but no mention of jeeps or tanks
By my count, that means Battlefield 6 will have just three maps that capture the full experience of transports, tanks, helicopters, and jets at launch. Personally I think that's a bummer, because it also suggests only three maps have a large enough footprint for jets to even make sense. Hopefully, New Sobek City will still feel large with only helicopters, because the more I play Cairo, Empire State, and Iberian Offensive, the more I see myself filtering those out of my regular rotation in the full game.
Since most people probably aren't going to comb over official map descriptions before launch, I suspect we're barreling toward a nasty collision of expectations vs reality come October 10. Longtime fans want and expect Battlefield 6 to be huge the majority of the time, and I don't think that's what we're going to get.

James Gunn says he's keeping the last three Peacemaker season 2 episodes "close to the chest" so they don't get spoiled early: "I won't even let my publicist see them"

Peacemaker season 2 reviews have begun to surface, but there are still three episodes that critics haven't seen, and the show's creator James Gunn says that's very much on purpose. Only Peacemaker episodes 1-5 have been screened for critics - a "select few," as Gunn tells entertainment journalist Brandon Davis - and he's keeping the last three hidden from prying eyes that might leak spoilers for the final three episodes of Peacemaker season 2. "It could mean they're terrible," Gunn laughs in the video below. "That is one option. Or it could mean that there's a lot of major twists and turns in the last three episodes. And even though I'm sending the first five to a select few, things still get out as you know. Things got out already. You know, people who want to search can be spoiled on purpose, but I really don't want what's in those last three episodes to be spoiled. And so I'm keeping them close to the chest. I won't even let my publicist see them. That's the god's honest truth" "I will also say, six and eight may be my favorite things I've done, like, of all time. It's like some of my favorite stuff ever," Gunn adds. I'm one of those "select few" who has seen those first five Peacemaker season 2 episodes, and while I can't (and won't) reveal a single word of spoilers, the trailers have only scratched the surface of Gunn's latest entry in the DC Universe. I definitely recommend going in as un-spoiled as possible, and frankly, I'm excited that there are still three episodes I can anticipate - especially since Gunn holds them in such high regard in his own catalogue of great superhero movies and shows. Peacemaker season 2 premiers on HBO Max on August 21, 2025 as the next chapter in the DC Universe following Gunn's Superman. Sophie Turner And Kit Harington Played Siblings For Years On Game Of Thrones, And I Love Her Funny Take On Them Portraying Lovers In A New Movie

When certain actors play characters for a very long time, it can be hard to picture them as anyone else. That feeling becomes amplified when two former co-stars reunite for a new and totally different project. Well, now I'm feeling all those feelings as two of Game of Thrones' cast members, Sophie Turner and Kit Harington, are starring in a movie together. However, to make matters weirder, these performers who played siblings on GOT are playing lovers in this new movie. That's a kind of hard to comprehend, but don't worry, Turner is hilariously struggling with it too. For context, Sophie Turner and Kit Harington are set to star in the gothic horror film The Dreadful. At the moment, it's not on the 2025 movie schedule, but in a Vogue video, the actress expressed her excitement about the upcoming film and reuniting with her GOT brother, saying: I did a movie last year which I'm really excited about with my old but very good friend Kit Harington, who played my brother on Game of Thrones. We're doing a gothic horror, but we play lovers. Sorry guys, it's really weird for all of us. To state the obvious, Harington and Turner are not actually related, so if you take Game of Thrones out of it, this is not weird at all. However, they did play Jon Snow and Sansa Stark in the extraordinary fantasy adaptation for eight seasons. So, for many of us who have and still do watch Game of Thrones with an HBO Max subscription, it's hard to see these two as anything other than siblings. The HBO series got the world talking, and to this day, most of its main cast is best known for their roles in it. When I think of Harington and Turner, the Stark family and their characters are the first things that come to mind. Picturing them as anything but siblings is, as Turner said, 'really weird.' This is especially true because the series ran from 2011 to 2019, and we literally watched both actors grow up on screen, as Turner was 15 when she began playing Sansa and Harington was 24 when Season 1 premiered. View Deal However, I'll get over it just like they seemingly did, considering they made this movie together, because I love the idea of a Game of Thrones reunion on the big screen. Plus, The Dreadful sounds fascinating. The fact that it's a gothic horror had me hooked already. However, Deadline reported that the film, which was written and directed by Natasha Kermani, follows a woman (Turner) who has been living in solitude with her mother-in-law during the War of the Roses when a man (Harington) from her past returns. Sign me up! And I'll do my best to pretend like I don't know that the film's stars played siblings for years on Game of Thrones. Maybe I'll even try to pretend like I've never seen GOT (which Turner hasn't), and that might help me forget the on-screen familial ties. No matter what, I know I'll move past it, though, because, seemingly like Turner, my excitement to see the actors reunite trumps the feelings I have about these former on-screen siblings playing on-screen lovers.

'Oh, Shoot, That's My Brother': Sophie Turner Didn't Hold Back While Explaining Just How Uncomfortable She And Kit Harington Were Playing Lovers

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. I'm so thrilled that Sophie Turner and Kit Harington are reuniting for an upcoming horror movie. However, I can't quite get over the fact that the Game of Thrones cast members are going to be playing lovers. It turns out, they hilariously couldn't either, as the Sansa Stark actress recalled just how uncomfortable she and the Jon Snow actor were filming their intimate scenes together. Sophie Turner spent the better part of her time on Late Night with Seth Meyers discussing various uncomfortable filming situations she's been in. While promoting her project on the 2025 movie schedule, Trust, she talked about working with rats and cockroaches. However, she also got real about the weirdness of making out with your former on-screen brother. Here's how her story about how this ended up happening in the first place began: I just got the script for an amazing gothic horror called The Dreadful. And I was reading through all the characters, and I'm producing it. So, the director was asking me 'Who do you think?' And immediately the first person I thought of was Kit. Well, that's really sweet. I love that the first person she wanted to work with was a fellow Stark, because any Game of Thrones reunion is a good one. However, things got weird when Turner and Harington realized that their relationship in this new movie would be totally different than the one they had on the HBO show. Explaining that realization, Turner said: And so I sent the script to Kit, and he kind of sent me a message back like 'Yeah, I'd love to, but this is going to be really fucking weird, Soph.' And I was like, 'What is he talking about?' And then I was reading it, and I'm like kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex, and I'm like 'Oh, shoot, that's my brother.' Listen, I realize that in the Game of Thrones universe, being in a romantic relationship with your brother or niece is not necessarily unusual. However, it's also never not weird. Plus, the Stark siblings – i.e., Robb, Sansa, Arya, Bran, Rickon and Jon – never participated in the incest. Plus, with GOT being one of HBO's shows that got the world talking, it's admittedly hard to separate the actors from their characters. So, all that considered, yeah, it's weird that Sansa and Jon's actors are playing lovers. I love that they found it odd, too. In fact, it was so weird for them, Turner claimed that they were both 'retching' when they had to lock lips on set: But it's such a good script that he was like, 'We kind of have to do it.' So, then we put it out of our minds. And then we get on set, and it's the first kissing scene, and we are both retching. Like, really, it is vile. It was the worst. Another really bad moment in my career. On top of this, earlier in the interview, she spoke about how 'foul' it was to work with cockroaches and rats on the same day for a different movie. She called that the 'worst day of my career.' However, a few minutes later, when they talked about The Dreadful, and Meyers asked if playing lovers with her GOT co-star was worse than the cockroaches, the actress said: Yeah. It was. HBO Max: Plans start from $9.99 a monthThe With Ads plan for HBO Max starts at $9.99 with three other tiers available. With this subscription, you can stream classics like Game of Thrones, The Sopranos and so much more. View Deal As someone who binged Game of Thrones with an HBO Max subscription, I will also have a hard time moving past this like they did. However, also like them, I'm going to do it. The fact that Turner and Harington were willing to work through the weirdness of playing lovers after playing siblings for years tells me that they're committed to this movie. So, you better believe I'm going to go see it. If they have confidence in it, I'll be thrilled to watch it, even if it means I have to work really, really hard to get over the fact that they played iconic siblings on Game of Thrones.
