Strictly Come Dancing 2025 line-up update as BBC show legend speaks out
The countdown for Strictly Come Dancing has officially begun as rumoured celebrities have begun circulating online.
The BBC show usually airs in September, but the line-up of contestants often drops a month before, meaning fans will not have long to find out who will be competing for the Glitterball.
Currently, Vicky Pattison, Paul C Brunson, Helen Flanagan, and Ashley Cain have been speculated about, although nothing has been confirmed.
During Wednesday's instalment of Good Morning Britain, former Strictly judge Arlene Phillips touched on some of the names people are suggesting could be seen taking to the dancefloor.
ITV host Susanna Reid said: "What do you think, the son of the Queen, Tom Parker Bowles, potentially might be part of the Strictly line-up?"

Arlene replied: "I think, today royalty doesn't quite have the reverence that it had, so we think of Tom Parker Bowles as just someone who cooks, I think, and is fabulous.
"You don't really connect him to royalty, and he'll just be on there, if he's on, working like everybody else, to try to win."
Susanna added that apparently Queen Camilla is a huge fan of the long-running BBC dance show.

She commented: "Of course, I suppose what the producers are hoping is that she will be a family member who comes and sits in the front row with the King!"
Arlene said: "Of course! They would love it, everyone would love it. They'd come along and watch Strictly, I mean anybody who is anybody watches Strictly anyway, this will just elevate it that little bit more."
The 82-year-old was a judge on the BBC show from when it first began in 2004 until benign replaced in 2008.

However, she revealed that fans of the programme continue to approach her and praise her appearance on the show, getting her mixed up with Shirley Ballas.
She said: "I cannot tell you how many times I'll get on an aeroplane and they say, 'Oh welcome. I love you Shirley'. No, I'm not. I was there, yeah that happens."
Although no confirmed date has been set for Strictly Come Dancing, it's expected to air in autumn.
Good Morning Britain is available to watch on ITVX.

MotD's Mark Chapman to also host some of Sky's live Premier League coverage
Chapman is one of three new presenters on the BBC's Saturday night highlights show, rotating with Kelly Cates and Gabby Logan, following Gary Lineker's departure at the end of last season. But Sky Sports has announced the 51-year-old, who has presented some of its Carabao Cup matches, is also going to host its Premier League coverage, along with Cates and David Jones. (L-R) Kelly Cates, Chapman and Gabby Logan are the new Match of the Day hosts (BBC) It means Chapman and Cates will have to juggle their commitments to both broadcasters – Chapman is first up in the MOTD hot-seat this coming Saturday evening. But Sky's chief sports officer Jonathan Licht believes the cross-channel pollination will be a hit. 'We're delighted that Mark's joining us alongside Kelly and Dave,' Licht said as he launched Sky's coverage plans for the new season, which will see the broadcaster show a minimum of 215 live Premier League matches. 'Clearly we have more games this season, we needed more presenters. I'm not going to go into all the details of how many games Mark will do, but Mark will work across the Carabao Cup and Premier League. Chapman will juggle stints with Sky and the BBC (Richard Sellers/PA) 'He will work weekends, yes, and we'll work with him and Kelly. We're delighted that Kelly is working on Match of the Day next season as well. 'We'll work with both of those to work through our schedule and we've got control of the calendar in terms of the picking of the matches. We're all adults and we'll see how it goes. 'It's clearly new territory, but we're looking forward to having everybody on board.' Sky Sports have also rebranded 'Super Sunday' to 'Supersized Super Sunday', as when one or more matches are moved to a Sunday due to European competitions, they will all be shown live with a multi-view option available. Sunday's coverage will end with a new analysis show, 'Extra Time', hosted by former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher.
