Sabah GOF seizes RM25.7 million worth of smuggled goods in April raids

LAHAD DATU: The General Operations Force (GOF) detained 81 individuals and seized RM25.7 million worth of smuggled goods in 35 raids across Sabah in April. Sabah GOF Commander Datuk Abdul Rani Alias said those detained included locals and foreign nationals from the Philippines, China, Pakistan, and Indonesia. Items seized included contraband cigarettes, crude palm oil (CPO), frozen food without halal or import certification, and other smuggled goods. Among the largest busts was the seizure of over 104 tonnes of unlicensed CPO worth RM2.09 million and 3.096 million sticks of illicit cigarettes valued at RM9.3 million including tax. Man electrocuted while picking mangoes in Papar

Three injured in Sook road accident

The Sook Fire and Rescue Station received the emergency call at 11.38am and arrived at the scene, located 4 kilometres away, within seven minutes. Advertisement One of the victims was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be rescued using hydraulic equipment by firefighters. All three victims - a 60-year-old man, a 32-year-old man, and a 56-year-old woman - were later handed over to medical personnel for treatment. Police await phone forensic report in influencer's obscene photo probe
GOMBAK: Police are still waiting for the forensic report on a mobile phone in connection with the case involving an influencer who allegedly sent an obscene photo and messages to a 14-year-old girl. District police chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said the report is crucial to completing the investigation. "No charges have been filed yet. We have not received the forensic report on the mobile phone from the relevant authorities," he said when contacted today. It was reported in May that the influencer had been detained after surrendering himself to the police to assist in investigations into the alleged obscene photo and messages sent to the teenager. Earlier, the influencer came under public scrutiny after singer and fellow influencer Caprice revealed several messages allegedly of a sexual nature that were sent to the minor. In a series of posts on his Instagram feed and Stories, Caprice said he was contacted by the girl's mother, who sought his help after her daughter was allegedly sexually harassed by the 22-year-old influencer. Among the screenshots shared were messages and an indecent photo allegedly sent by the influencer to the woman's daughter, supposedly to show a surgery scar. Additionally, the influencer also sent another message apologising to the girl's mother and requesting a meeting to resolve the matter.
