Will Cele, Duba and Miguel play in the Nedbank Cup final?
The two giants battle it out in the final on Saturday afternoon at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. Amakhosi go into the match, having lost to Pirates 2-1 this past weekend. With their fifth straight Soweto Derby loss, Chiefs need to play their best match of the season if they want to claim the Nedbank Cup on Saturday.
This past weekend, Amakhosi were without Miguel Inacio and Wandile Duba. Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi explained why Thabo Cele came in late in the game and Miguel did not feature despite sitting on the bench.
'Cele is coming from an injury, and he hasn't fully trained, and that why he was not starting, not being fully fit to start the game, or to play 90 minutes,' Nabi said as per iDiski Times.
'Inacio, the same thing, he's coming from an injury, and he wasn't fully fit to give 100% performance.'
Duba, who has been Kaizer Chiefs' best player in recent weeks, was suspended for the derby but will be back for the Nedbank Cup final. The 20-year-old has played a big role in helping Amakhosi reach this stage of the competition.
Following the team's semi-final win over Sundowns, Duba promised Chiefs fans that the club will bring home the Nedbank Cup.

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates new era: New captains and vice's
Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have appointed new captains and vice-captains. Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will have new captains for the 2025/26 season. So, Amakhosi have decided who will be replacing Yusuf Maart. Meanwhile, the Bucs have appointed their new captain to replace Innocent Maela. Chiefs have utilised Inavio Miguel as their captain throughout the pre-season. Meaning, he is set to replace Maart as the new Amakhosi skipper. Meanwhile, Brandon Petersen and Zitha Kwinika are the new Chiefs vice captains. 'Both management and the technical team agreed that there should have a captains committee with three players on it. The club captain is Inacio Miguel but he will be working together with Brandon Petersen and Given Msimango as his vices. It will depend on who is playing on that day to take over from Miguel who is the number one captain, then Petersen followed by Msimango. That's how it will work,' the insider told SoccerLaduma . Maela has left big boots to fill following his legendary Bucs career. So, now we know who will be attempting to fill his boots. Pirates have appointed Nkosinathi Sibisi as their new captain for the 2025/26 season. 'It is truly an honour and privilege to be named captain of this great institution. It's a responsibility that I accept and promise to fulfil the role in the best way I possibly can,' Sibisi stated following his appointment as the new Pirates captain. Thapelo Xoki and teenager Mbekezeli Mbokazi have been named as the vice-captains. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. 'People are writing a lot of nonsense that I'm negotiating with Kaizer Chiefs'
Former TS Galaxy striker Dzenan Zajmovic has set the record straight that he never spoke to Kaizer Chiefs. The experienced forward is a free agent since leaving the Rockets last season. He was linked to Amakhosi in recent weeks, but he has since made it clear that the Soweto giants never approached him. He did reveal that two clubs made contact with him but none of those clubs is Kaizer Chiefs. 'Two clubs made contact, but I was not happy with the proposals about a month ago,' Zajmovic told 'It was not even one of the big three clubs in South Africa. Okay with regards to Kaizer Chiefs, they never contacted me. I have seen people writing a lot of nonsense that I'm negotiating with them but nothing like that has happened. 'All the things on the internet about me and Chiefs are not true because they have never contacted me. What I know is that I have shown myself in a good way but maybe it is not good enough for some clubs,' he continued. 'You never know who decides in the clubs and they go for what they like. With regards to where I would go next, I prefer respect and being valued. Maybe I will go to Asia. I'm fit. 'In South Africa, I would have liked to go to one of the Big Three because I have already adapted. If it is another club outside the big three and they show that they really want and value me then I will take that offer,' Zajmovic added. 'It is strange that the top three clubs didn't contact me despite the numbers that I had in South Africa because I feel I did well.' Former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Farouk Khan said on Soccer beat that Zajmovic was more suited for Amakhosi. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. Strong comments: Khanye on Kaizer Chiefs-bound players
As reported in June, the Kaizer Chiefs thought they had secured both players as free agents. However, Cape Town Spurs responded by claiming that the duo is still under contract. Kaizer Chiefs' Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr with the Team Manager Gerald Sibeko during a Betway Premiership game at the FNB Stadium. Image: Kick Off Due to Spurs' dramatic relegation from the Motsepe Foundation Championship (second tier) to the ABC Motsepe (third tier), Kaizer Chiefs followed the PSL's rulebook, which states that relegation to the third tier makes player contracts null and void. The situation has stalled Kaizer Chiefs from announcing and registering the two players. While the legal battle is still underway, Junior Khanye has reviewed the two players' abilities. Orlando Pirates coach shares plan for Bafana winger 'Out of the two Cape Town Spurs players Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly targeting, I really hope they succeed in signing Baartman – he's got the qualities to do well at the club. I'm not as convinced by Velebayi,' Khanye said via Soccer Laduma . Sundowns to make big announcements 'Look, I know there's a lot of hype around him, but in my opinion, he's not the kind of player who would shine at Kaizer Chiefs. He's done well for Cape Town Spurs and could fit in at other teams, but Chiefs? I don't see it. 'We've seen it before with players like Ranga Chivaviro, Lebogang Manyama and others. They looked good at their previous clubs but couldn't replicate that form at Kaizer Chiefs. That's what I fear with Velebayi,' he added. 'Baartman is young, he's talented, and for me, he's got the potential to become one of the best. I think he would improve a lot at a big club. But honestly, I'd rather see him join Pirates than Kaizer Chiefs,' Khanye said. 'I believe he would thrive playing alongside players like Relebohile Mofokeng, Tito Maswanganyi and others at Pirates. At Kaizer Chiefs, I feel he might struggle like we're currently seeing with talented youngsters such as Mduduzi Shabalala and Mfundo Vilakazi – they seem to be under pressure and haven't fully settled,' concluded the former Kaizer Chiefs winger.
