Emmerdale exit 'sealed' for Robert Sugden weeks after return in surprise prison twist
John Sugden faced the wrath of Robert Sugden tonight on Emmerdale after he goaded his relative. Robert has just returned to the village fr om a stint in prison and was desperate to reunite with his ex Aaron Dingle.
However, Aaron had moved on with John and Robert tried to stop the wedding to no avail. Viewers know how bad John is - having killed Nate and framed a number of disastrous events on other villagers to gain their trust.
He has been goading Robert over 'winning' Aaron and with Robert convinced John is bad, he said he will stop at nothing to bring John down. Tonight, he was goaded so much by evil John - and now his reaction risks trouble ahead.
In tonight's episode, brothers Robert and John went head to head, with sister Victoria Sugden desperate to resolve their feud. Robert continued to provoke John and soon there was a big altercation. It comes as a final showdown looms for John on Emmerdale - with three characters involved.
In front of the Woolpack, the truth about Robert's involvement in the farm break-in was revealed and no one was happy with the discovery. Aaron told Robert he needed to leave the village but John tried to convince everyone Robert needed some medical help.
When they were alone later, John goaded Robert and he lashed out, hitting John with a wrench and leaving him unconscious. He was found by a devastated Aaron and was rushed to hospital.
Will Robert end up back inside for the attack - and is his exit looming already?
Ryan Hawley, who plays Robert, previously teased there was drama and conflict ahead on Robert's return. He said: "Rejoining the cast of Emmerdale feels fantastic. I've been having so much fun being back here. Oddly, more fun than I thought it was going to be, in a good way. We've been filming some great stuff, there's a lot more to Robert's return than just the value of opening the door.
"I've been having so much fun, everyone's been lovely, and there are a lot of familiar faces and loads of really positive energy about the place. There's lots of drama, lots of conflict. There's the dilemma for Aaron and John and also his return affects so many other people in the village."
His return to Emmerdale was kept such a secret that he was given codenames and used a secret entrance. He shared at the time: "I was given a code name of 'Marco', In fact I think everyone's sick of hearing the name Marco. I've been using a secret entrance to get into the building and I've had a driver picking me up from my house and driving me to Emmerdale.
"Plus most of my scenes have even been scheduled in the village so that I wouldn't run the risk of bumping into people and it getting out. There's so much effort that's gone into it. I didn't tell anyone. I didn't tell my family or friends. Just fairly recently, I said, 'it's Ryan, I play Robert' and the security guard said 'what's your code name." I said, "Marco." And then he let me in!"

Linda Carter's EastEnders return ‘sealed' as she's ‘joined by legend'
Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) may have only just made a temporary EastEnders departure, but there's guaranteed drama ahead upon her return. After the former pub landlady handed over the keys to her beloved Queen Vic to Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace), she decided to head on a cruise with her children ahead of a fresh start. After a morning of reflection, she knew that the bad times in the boozer outweighed the good times, and it was the right decision to move on. However, before she could put her troubles to one side, she had to address a looming threat that had just arrived in Albert Square – Oscar Branning (Pierre Moullier)! He had no idea that he had another sibling living in the area, as his dad Max (Jake Wood) had fathered Linda's youngest daughter Annie in 2021. And it's not just Oscar who was unaware, as Max has been kept in the dark every since she was the born. Linda knew that she'd have to tell Oscar eventually, and squirmed when he said he would take great joy in watching his dad's face drop. Luckily, after some tough words from his sister Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa), he agreed to keep quiet. Jake's return as the notorious womaniser was officially confirmed earlier this month, with Executive Producer Ben Wadey teasing: 'Whilst his character has only been away from Albert Square for four years, Walford, and the lives of those who live in it, have changed immensely. 'Max has a lot of unfinished business, but whether he is welcomed by his family remains to be seen. 'However, with a past as checkered as Max's, it's fair to say that many Walford residents will not be pleased to see him, putting the Brannings back at the heart of the Square, and the drama, this year.' Max's whereabouts are largely unknown. It's been explicitly stated on a number of occasions that both Oscar and Laurenhave been estranged from him for quite some time. He initially departed for New Zealand, and the last we heard of Max, brother Jack (Scott Maslen) had visited him in France. He then fled to Croatia with granddaughter Abi Jr. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? The latest gossip from Emmerdale? We're not privy to the stop offs on Linda's cruise, but it's entirely plausible that she may have a run-in with a face from her past while sailing the seas. Could Max be enjoying a holiday with Abi Jr, when she makes an unexpected friend – Annie – in the kids club? More Trending Imagine the reaction if Linda came back to Walford with Max on her arm! Of course, there's always the chance that he might come back prior to her return, and her whereabouts are kept a closely guarded secret. We do know that Jake has reprised the role briefly, before a permanent stint later in the year. Whatever the outcome, it's bound to be dramatic. This is Walford after all. Major Emmerdale couple get back together - but heartbreak might follow
When Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) learned about brother Ross (Michael Parr) and Steph Miligan's (Georgia Jay) failed relationship, he decided to play Emmerdale match maker and get them back together. Lewis has an excellent skill in being able to read people – having deduced that Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) killed his mum based purely on Moira and Ross' reactions to him. As a reader of people, once he learns that Ross and Steph were once a thing, he immediately knows it's not over. He sets about getting them back together. Steph and Ross broke up after Steph's mental health declined having learned that her grandfather had abused her mother as a teenager, and she was the result. Their relationship couldn't survive her trauma. Having seen what Lewis is up to, Steph's mum Ruby (Beth Cordingly) gets involved, encouraging Steph to give things with Ross another go. Ruby and Lewis are on a mission to make this happen, with Lewis cleverly orchestrating a scenario where Ross must give Steph a lift to her therapy session when her car breaks down. The trick works and their reunion seems to be going swimmingly when once alone, Steph tells Ross she is ready to take things to the next level and hints they head upstairs. More Trending That one night is enough to seal the deal, and Steph delights her family with the news at breakfast that they are back together. But things were never going to be that easy and their new bubble is threatened by a big lie. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? Abi's uncovers more secrets in Corrie - that lead her straight to one man
Abi Webster (Sally Carman) is currently in a dilemma in Coronation Street as she finds herself torn between her husband Kevin (Michael Le Vell) and his brother Carl (Jonathan Howard). Abi and Carl were instantly attracted to each other when they met by chance when he first turned up in Weatherfield, but on finding out he was her brother-in-law, Abi has tried to resist the temptation of Carl. This hasn't stopped him trying, though. Kevin recently got wind that something was either going on or was about to go on between his wife and brother, and in an attempt to make Abi stay with him he pretended that his cancer treatment wasn't working. In reality he'd been given the all-clear. Although Carl found out about Kevin's lie, it was Tyrone (Alan Halsall) who ended up telling Abi as he wanted to stop her worrying Jack (Kyran Bowes) by telling him that Kevin was still ill. Kevin admitted what he'd done and why, but Abi was disgusted by his actions and went straight to Carl, where the two finally gave in to their feelings for each other. Kevin had some ammunition against Carl, though, as he knew that he was involved in a stolen car scam and threatened to go to the police if Carl didn't end things with Abi. Kevin also sacked Carl from the garage and Carl agreed to leave Weatherfield, only for Debbie (Sue Devaney) to persuade him to stay. In upcoming episodes Abi finds herself covering for Kevin as he tells people he's been given the all-clear from his cancer. His friends are delighted, but Abi leaves the celebrations to spend time at the hotel with Carl. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? While she's there she sees a message on Carl's phone from Fiona, the woman he's stealing cars for. Carl admits he's been doing dodgy MOT's for Fiona from Kevin's garage. More Trending Abi's shocked to discover that Kevin was aware of what Carl was up to, and she confronts Carl about it. He replies that Kevin agreed not to report him on the condition that Carl kept quiet to Abi about Kevin lying about his cancer status. Abi is furious when she realises that Kevin is still lying to her, and if he was hoping that his actions would keep his wife by his side he's very wrong. His lies send her back to Carl, and while Kevin heads to Dev and Bernie's wedding on his own, Abi is in Carl's hotel room. Have Kevin's lies sealed the fate of his marriage?
