But Dave has now opened up about the heartbreaking reason for the breakdown in his
marriage
.
'It was cut out but I'd actually actually had a couch session before that one where I broke down and cried, because I was worried about my feelings not progressing," the MAFS star exclusively told The Sun.
'It was because of what was going on with my dad back at home.
'They didn't show that but I did communicate it all, but it came across as 'Dave has done a backflip on his emotions.

'But it was after the retreat that his chemotherapy was really affecting him and I addressed the situation and said 'I'm worried that my feelings aren't there yet with Jamie because of what's going on at home.'
'I was definitely in two places, and when you met my dad the other night I said I was in two places again. It made it hard to enjoy myself.'

He also candidly revealed another reason for his change of heart: "I'm not a hugely sexual person and that's not where I find my connection with someone, but maybe on Jamie's side it is super important to her.
'There was a bit of a mismatch in that side of things.
'We had talked about all of that off camera before and I sort of did say can we keep it between us. "

FINAL VOWS
In scenes that are still to be aired in the UK, viewers will see both Jamie and Dave commit to staying together in the Final Vows part of the show.
However, they reportedly broke up not long after filming wrapped, and are now no longer on speaking terms.
There has also been accusations that Dave has since "ghosted" Jamie, something he strongly denies.
'I definitely didn't ghost Jamie. I think that's an easy thing to say 'oh I just ghosted her,' but that definitely didn't happen," he told The Sun.
'At her final vows she was quite sick and then I got sick, and the communication probably did drop off a little bit.
'And then I ended up helping her move house into her sisters apartment, and then we went out for dinner and had a conversation and said this probably isn't it.
"So there definitely wasn't a ghosting."
MAFS fans in the UK can continue to watch Dave and Jamie's journey on the show over on Channel 4, from Monday-Thursday each week.
