Jeremy Clarkson slammed by fans for controversial pub change

Leader Live3 days ago
In the latest season of Clarkson's Farm on Amazon Prime Video, the main focus for Mr Clarkson and co was getting his pub - The Farmer's Dog - up and running.
Clarkson announced last August that his pub would be all British, but admitted he was struggling to find certain ingredients.
Despite the initial quick turnaround of getting his pub up and running, his attempts to go "all British" hit a wall.
It looks like this year's harvest will be catastrophic. That should be a worry for anyone who eats food. If a disaster on this scale had befallen any other industry, there would be a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth.
He posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: "We are attempting to go all British for the food at my pub. But we are struggling to find black pepper grown here. Can anyone help?"
Following this, the latest series depicts signs up in the pub declaring that the pub is 100% British, which means there is no ketchup served there.
However, Condimaniac took up the challenge to create a 100% British ketchup and then aimed to get it stocked at the Farmer's Dog.
The condiment company behind the creation of a 100% British-sourced ketchup has declared victory in its bid to provide a ketchup for Jeremy Clarkson's pub.
On Instagram, co-founder Kier Kemp said he was really impressed by the pub.
"It is not just a gimmick for them they do really live and breathe this 100% British thing," he said.
Mr Kemp also added it was one of the 'best wholesale clients I have ever dealt with'.
"The team there, the Diddly Squat farm shop that's on site and the pub, everyone I have met is super lovely," he said.
"I am glad that I can report they are actually nice people. It is not always like that."
However, fans took issue with the fact that the Diddly Squat seemingly made them relabel their product to include their own brand.

On a recent TikTok showing the creation of the sauce and bottle, fans blasted the decision.
One said: "Hate that they made you get a new label for it".
Another commented: "As if they made you relabel it"
Whilst someone else replied: "I don't think it's right to make the label change, it's YOUR sauce promoting HIS business, he doesn't need to be on the label that big anyway.

The Amazon Prime show has recently released its third season after winning an award for the 'Favourite Binge-worthy Show' in 2024. Amazon Prime Video users can not get enough of one coming of age romance drama which has taken the streaming platform by storm after its weekly episode release has seen it top Amazon Charts worldwide. Based on Jenny Han's popular book series, The Summer I Turned Pretty, which returned for its third season last month, is described as a story 'about first love, first heartbreak and the magic of that one perfect summer'. ‌ However, fans are being forced to patiently wait each Wednesday for a new episode with the sixth episode of series three being the latest to drop on Prime. Now more than halfway through the latest season which consists of 11 episodes, viewers are waiting in anticipation for the series finale which is set to air on September 17. ‌ Starring Lola Tung as Belly Conklin, Christopher Briney as Conrad Fisher and Gavin Casalegno as Jeremiah, the show is about a love triangle between one girl and two brothers. The story unfolds at Cousins Beach where Belly and her mum have been going to vacation with family friend Susannah and her two sons, Jeremiah and Conrad for many summers. ‌ Isabel (Belly), has a long-standing crush on Conrad but the summer she turns sixteen, she finds herself going through a lot of changes, both physical and mental, and lands herself in a love triangle with the two handsome brothers. The show first premiered in 2022 with season 2 coming out in 2023 so fans have been waiting a good few years for the third season to be released. And it appears that viewers can not get enough of the new episodes. Taking to X to share their opinions on the show, one user dramatically confessed: "I think about The Summer I Turned Pretty way more religiously than I think about eating." ‌ Another echoed: "Obsessed with The Summer I Turned Pretty." A third gushed: "Ugh The Summer I Turned Pretty is such a cute show!!!!" Someone else added: "I'm caught up on The Summer I Turned Pretty. Hello??? I need the next episode NOW." ‌ The drama has divided the internet with many making comments about whether they are Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah. One person wrote: "I'm Team Jeremiah forever !!" While another disagreed: "On season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty and I was NEVER team Jeremiah. Screw that man, team Conrad forever!!" ‌ Someone else added:" I've always been Team Jeremiah but ever since season 3 started it feels so wrong i think i was missing something the whole time." Meanwhile, another user slammed them both as she said: "Team Jeremiah or Conrad? duh, I'm team Belly's getting a therapist." ‌ Despite the online raving about the show, it does only score a 73% score on Rotten Tomatoes. However, the drama did win a People's Choice Award for the public's 'Favourite Binge-worthy Show' in 2024. The show is expected to be coming to an end when the final episode of season three airs in September with there only being three books in the novel series.

Lewis made the admission while appearing on the Heart Scotland breakfast show, hosted by Des Clarke, Adele and Grado, on Friday morning, August 15. Adele queried: "A staff one?" Before Lewis told the rest of the funny tale: "A staff one! "Sorry, yes. But I was on a pub crawl with my pals in Glasgow, and I was bursting. "And I ran into Sainsbury's, and I was like, 'I'm really sorry is there any chance I can use your bathroom?' "And they were like, 'are you Lewis Capaldi?' and I go, 'if you want me to be yeah.' "And he's like 'yeah, sure get in here!" Grado asks Des if he thought the pair would get the same treatment, and he declares, "No chance!" However, I don't know if I should bring this up." "Because this has got to me for years and years and years. But months later I checked on Twitter." Lewis finishes the sentence for him, asking: "Unfollowed?" Grado responds glumly: "Aye." Lewis apologised: "Sorry, I don't know what's happened." Before Lewis jokingly revealed the reason while laughing: "I found out you were a Rangers fan." The whole room bursts into laughter at the usual cheeky remark from the global superstar. Lewis tries to make amends by saying he'll follow Grado back, but before the offer is accepted Adele drops the Two Doors Down star in it. Adele said: "No, Grado unfollowed you Lewis!" The surreal deal according to author Douglas Murray.

He recently found himself discussing politics with an American podcaster, who advocated being a realist in matters of international affairs. Murray languidly shrugged off such a claim, pointing out that it would be rare to find a commentator who is NOT a realist in such matters. For as Douglas pointed out, 'almost nobody says he's a surrealist.' Murray did concede that Salvador Dali considered himself one, though, 'that didn't really catch on very widely.' The name game Global politics, continued. Chatting with a pal in the local boozer, reader Alan Jones happened to mention that faithful and feisty Robin to Donald Trump's Batman… JD Vance. 'I've always wondered,' mused the pal, 'If JD Vance is related to the writer JD Salinger.' A perplexed Alan replied: 'You do realise that's not how it works, right?' Dusty dealings Philosophical thought of the day from Derek Moore, who says: 'When you clean a vacuum cleaner, you become the vacuum cleaner.' The Browning version Our more cynical readers probably assume that today's youngsters indolently waste their every waking hour hypnotised by TikTok videos. Nothing could be further from the truth, for the modern youth is as driven and dynamic as any previous generation. Reader Sue Graham was on a train and overheard two teenage girls chatting. Said one to the other: 'I'm tanning tonight and I'm tanning tomorrow.' Her friend found it impossible to hide her admiration as she answered: 'Wow! You do keep busy, don't you?' A true tale Another Glasgow conversation containing a great deal of profundity. Paul Murray was in Waterstones bookshop on Sauchiehall Street where a man and woman were chatting. Reproduced below, in full blazing Technicolor, is a snippet of their dramatic dialogue… Man: This week's been a week. (Thoughtful pause.) In fact, I'd go so far as to say this year's been a year. Woman: Oh my God… so true! Speak your truth Gavin, speak your truth.
