‘Who you surround yourself with matters.' Jalen Ramsey's latest IG story is brutal

Miami Herald25-04-2025

Jalen Ramsey made it clear that he doesn't want to be a Miami Dolphin.
His latest Instagram story might've just doubled down even further.
The seven-time Pro Bowl cornerback posted a photo of rotten oranges Thursday night alongside a caption that seemingly read as an indictment of the Dolphins as a whole.
'Who you surround yourself with matters,' the first part of the caption read, followed by a short inscription underneath the picture that said 'If you surround yourself with people who are okay with mediocre, you too will start to be okay with it... surround yourself with people who desire GREATNESS!'
This post came a little more than a week after NFL Network insiders Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport first reported Ramsey and the Dolphins mutually agreed to explore a trade. Dolphins general manager Chris Grier later confirmed the report that same day.
'We decided that it was probably in the best interest for all parties to move forward,' Grier said April 15. 'I will say, these decisions aren't done quickly and they're not taken lightly because we spent a lot of time this offseason working through this, talking through things. At the end of the day, Jalen did not ask for a trade. So we went through the process and just felt that after numerous conversations and then talking last week with Jalen and his agent that it was best to move forward and it was the best interest of the Miami Dolphins and for Jalen Ramsey.'
Ramsey reportedly wants to play for a contender, according to Outkick's Armando Salguero. The Dolphins have spoken to the Los Angeles Rams, Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles among others.

Kansas City Chiefs' Creed Humphrey ranks as PFF's top center going into 2025

Pro Football Focus recently ranked Kansas City Chiefs standout Creed Humphrey as the NFL's top center. The veteran offensive lineman continues to garner respect for his consistent play since being drafted out of Oklahoma in 2021, solidifying the unit. "Since stepping foot on an NFL field in 2021, Humphrey has not only been the most productive center but also the most productive offensive lineman in the NFL, period." wrote Mason Cameron, "His 2.05 PFF WAR over the past four seasons is the highest figure among all offensive linemen, and his 94.9 cumulative PFF overall grade ranks second, behind only Trent Williams." Advertisement Humphrey has been named an All-Pro twice and selected to the Pro Bowl three times since the start of his rookie season. The two-time Super Bowl champion led all centers in offensive snaps with 1,112 last season. Before the start of the 2024 season, Humphrey agreed to a four-year, $72 million extension with a $50 million guarantee to remain with the Chiefs. Back in 2024, Wilson Basketball signed a multi-year deal with Clark, making her the first athlete since NBA legend Michael Jordan to receive a signature ball series. And on Sunday, Wilson began rolling out season No. 2 with the "Envision Ball." Monday brought another announcement, as the brand showcased "Aspire." "Aspire / The dream big, play bigger basketball," Wilson Basketball wrote. "Available June 23rd, as part of the Caitlin Clark Signature Series. Tap the link in bio to learn more." Following the announcement, Clark took to social media to simply reshare Wilson's post with no words. "It feels surreal to have my own basketball collection, and to affect what that means for future generations of athletes." Rory McIlroy Drops Ryder Cup Message after U.S. Open Flop

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Rory McIlroy has long been one of the most dependable names when it comes to Ryder Cup contention. And this week, he finally got what many believed he deserved. Despite a frustrating U.S. Open run where he had to face consequences for breaking the tee box at Oakmont, McIlroy's season has been anything but dull. He kicked off 2025 with a win at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, followed by a dramatic playoff victory at THE PLAYERS Championship, where he edged out none other than J.J. Spaun, who would go on to win the U.S. Open. That win, combined with his consistent form, catapulted him to the top of the European Ryder Cup standings. And on Monday, European captain Luke Donald made it official: Rory McIlroy became the first automatic qualifier for Team Europe at the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black. McIlroy acknowledged the news with a bold five-word message on Instagram: "I'll see you at Bethpage." (Image Credits: @rorymcilroy on Instagram) Instagram For a player who's been under multiple microscopes lately, it was the kind of validation he needed. Since the PGA Championship, McIlroy has faced criticism for skipping media duties—something he repeated during the first two days at the U.S. Open. He also withdrew from the Memorial Tournament, a signature event hosted by Jack Nicklaus, who has mentored McIlroy over the years. Still, his Ryder Cup legacy remains untarnished. Since debuting in 2010, McIlroy has played in seven consecutive Ryder Cups, helping Europe to five wins. Now, as he prepares for his eighth straight appearance, McIlroy's message is clear: he's ready to lead again. "Winning a Ryder Cup away from home is one of the biggest challenges there is in golf," he said. "We know it's going to be tough in New York, but we're all looking forward to that challenge." Luke Donald reacts to Rory McIlroy's Ryder Cup achievement As soon as the news went viral, European team captain, Luke Donald cheered up Rory posting: "Let's go! 👏" Shane Lowry, who is one of the closest PGA Tour pros to Rory, couldn't stop himself and chimed in, commenting, "😍🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺" Justin Rose also expressed his love and respect for McIlroy as he took to X posting: "Strong first player in team@RyderCupEurope!!! 💙💛" A few days ago, Scottie Scheffler was announced as the first lock for the US Ryder Cup team captained by Keegan Bradley. With Rory and Scottie sitting at OWGR No. 2 and No. 1, respectively, the Ryder Cup storyline is writing itself. These two have set the tone for the 2025 season, and now they'll carry the weight of national colors at Bethpage Black, arguably one of golf's most intense cauldrons.
