Country music star secures legal win in custody battle for daughter
Post Malone's ex-fiancée has dismissed her filing for primary custody of their daughter in California, according to Billboard. Since April, the hip-hop and country artist and his former flame Hee Sung 'Jamie' Park have been vying for custody of their 3-year-old daughter, who remains anonymous under the moniker 'DDP' in court documents, per Billboard. The music publication reports that Park had petitioned to take primary care of their daughter in Los Angeles, where she moved after last year's breakup; the case became complicated when Post Malone's lawyers filed a motion to dismiss the petition in May, flagging the fact that the case seemed like an opportunity for Park to move their daughter out of Utah, her home state. 'I do not consent to Jamie's back door attempt to change DDP's residence from Utah to California,' the artist wrote, per Billboard. 'I request that the California court admonish Jamie for her lack of candor, gamesmanship in attempting to forum shop, and her intentional action to try to mislead the court about DDP's home.' In response, Park dropped the California case this past Monday, and the ex-couple will reach final custody arrangements within the Utah court system, Billboard reports. Guests at Post Malone's ongoing 'Big Ass Stadium' tour are likely familiar with the singer's daughter via the song 'Yours,' a ballad that pictures his daughter's future. The tour came to Gillette Stadium at the end of May, and will continue through mid-September. Woman Spends 'Months' Getting Kids on Bedtime Schedule, but Is 'Back to Square One' After Mother-in-Law's Disastrous Visit
"She thankfully leaves tonight to go back home but the damage will be lasting," the woman writes on RedditNEED TO KNOW A woman says her mother-in-law's recent visit has caused her kids' entire sleep schedule to change In a post on Reddit, she writes that her mother-in-law didn't stick to the children's schedule and, as a result, they've been staying up well past their bedtime for nearly a week Now, the woman worries the damage will be "lasting"A woman says her mother-in-law's recent visit has ruined her kids' sleep schedule — and it may take months for things to get back to normal. In a post on Reddit, the woman writes that her mother-in-law recently came over for an "out of the blue" visit, spending her week-long vacation in their living room. "MIL bragged about wanting to take care of the kids 24/7 the entire week," she writes. "That lasted about an hour until she got tired of playing. Which. Fine. They're my kids but don't promise something you can't hold your word on." The poster made her kids' bedtime schedule very clear, explaining that "6pm is dinner time, 6:30 is wind down time and 7 is bath, pajamas and book time then 8 is when they're in bed for the night." However, her mother-in-law "wasn't okay" with that timing and "both kids stayed up until 4am because she refused to quiet down." "From that day forward she refused to let the kids go to bed at their bedtime. Stayed loud during quiet hours," she writes. "It took me months to get this routine to work. And now it's back to square one," the mom adds. "And she doesn't care. She's never cared about anyone but herself." While the poster told her fiancé that she doesn't want his mom in their house anymore, the matriarch had "nowhere else to go." The mother-son duo also "got into an argument" about the situation, leading to even more tension. "She thankfully leaves tonight to go back home but the damage will be lasting. My 5yr old won't be as hard but my almost 3 yr old (turns 3 in less than 2 days) is going to be a nightmare. She's the reason I started taking bedtime so seriously because she won't sleep. Ever," she adds. Other parents are weighing in on the situation, with one writing, "After the first night of her disrupting your kids routine, I honestly would have said to her that this visit isn't working out and she can either pay to stay in a hotel for the remainder of the week or she can go home. It's up to her but those are her choices." Read the original article on People Solve the daily Crossword

Original lead singer of iconic metal band dies at 69
Paul Mario Day, Iron Maiden's original lead singer, has died after a reported battle with cancer. He was 69. The heavy metal vocalist died peacefully at his Australia home on Tuesday, July 29, Parade reported. Iron Maiden also posted about Day's death on Facebook Wednesday. 'We are deeply saddened that Paul Mario Day, Iron Maiden's first ever vocalist back in 1975, has passed away,' the band wrote. 'Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to Paul's family and friends. Paul was a lovely person and good mate. Rest in peace Paul.' Day joined Iron Maiden as their inaugural frontman in December 1975 at just 19 years old. Day performed at Iron Maiden's first concert on May 1, 1976, at St. Nicholas Hall in Poplar, London, before being replaced by Dennis Wilcock in October of that same year. After leaving Iron Maiden, Day continued his career in the British heavy metal scene. In 1980, he formed the band More, releasing their debut album 'Warhead' in 1981. 'We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of the great More vocalist Paul Mario Day,' his former band More wrote in a statement, per Parade. 'Paul was a huge part of the [New Wave of British Heavy Metal] from his time in an early version of Iron Maiden, and of course his fantastic performance on the 'Warhead' album.' More then fronted the band Wildfire from 1983 to 1984 after leaving More before their sophomore album. More's most commercially successful period came in 1985 when the singer joined Sweet, working alongside guitarist Andy Scott and drummer Mick Tucker. 'Paul Mario Day RIP,' Scott said, according to Parade. 'PMD was the original singer with IRON MAIDEN and had a stint with the band MORE before joining SWEET. He passed away peacefully at his home in Australia.'
