The hip-hop streets are talking again.
Known more for his moody soundscapes than street politics, Kid Cudi recently took the stand in Sean 'Diddy' Combs' high-profile sex trafficking and racketeering trial, and it didn't go unnoticed.
While Cudi's court appearance had nothing to do with any wrongdoing on his part, that didn't stop fellow rapper Young Thug from branding him a 'rat'.
"The Day 'n' Nite" rapper appeared in court and detailed a 2012 incident involving a Molotov cocktail being thrown at his Porsche, an event that supports allegations made by Diddy's former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.

While many praised Cudi for speaking up, others, including Young Thug, weren't impressed.
Thug, who is currently embroiled in his own legal saga, took to X and wrote, 'Dam Cudi a rat lol,' before quickly deleting the post (I wonder why). But as we know, screenshots live forever. The now-deleted tweet was enough to stir up fans.
Why is Young Thug tweeting in support of Diddy pic.twitter.com/ETXFfYBoSP — Wost🐰 (@mosthiphop) May 23, 2025
Backing Thug was DJ Akademiks, a media personality known for his blunt commentary on hip-hop culture and artists' personal lives. He has built his platform by reporting on rapper feuds, court cases and behind-the-scenes drama.
DJ Akademiks believes that Thug's tweet calling Cudi a 'rat' comes from unresolved feelings of betrayal, especially after what happened with Gunna in the YSL RICO case.

Gunna, who had also been arrested as part of the same case, shocked fans when he took a plea deal in late 2022. As part of that deal, Gunna publicly admitted that YSL is a gang, not just a record label.
He also stated that the weapons and drugs found during the group's arrest were not his. The moment that courtroom video went viral, social media turned on Gunna, with many calling him a 'snitch' for essentially confirming prosecutors' narrative about YSL.
Thug, who remains behind bars fighting the charges, has since distanced himself from Gunna, and many believe he feels completely betrayed.
So when Cudi recently testified in the Diddy case, a completely unrelated trial and backed up claims made by Ventura, it triggered something in Thug.
Since that courtroom fallout, Thug has severed ties with Gunna and now appears to be applying the same code to Cudi.
However, Cudi has never claimed to be part of street culture. Fans were quick to point out that he doesn't live by the same unspoken 'no snitching' rules that often govern artists from a different hip-hop lane.
Now, let's break that down for anyone who missed the courtroom drama: The YSL case is a high-profile legal battle where prosecutors charged Young Thug and several members of his Young Slime Life crew under RICO laws (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act).
These laws are usually used to target organised crime (think mafia or gang networks) and in this case, authorities claimed that YSL was not just a music label but an actual street gang involved in criminal activity, including drugs, weapons, and violence.

Lady Gaga and Jenna Ortega stun fans at Netflix Tudum

Netflix's Tudum event delivered a thrilling surprise for fans of the hit series Wednesday . American pop icon Lady Gaga took to the stage with a dramatic, gothic-themed performance that left the audience spellbound. The icing on the cake? Jenna Ortega, the star of the show, joined Gaga on stage, creating a moment that instantly went viral and won the internet. The 39-year-old singer-actress emerged from a coffin emblazoned with the words 'Here lies the monster queen'. This set a macabre tone fitting for the Addams Family-inspired series, according to Deadline. Backed by dancers dressed like Gomez Addams, portrayed by Luis Guzmán, Gaga performed Zombieboy from her critically acclaimed album Mayhem . The performance was a visual feast, blending Lady Gaga's signature theatricality with the eerie charm of Wednesday 's gothic world. Jenna Ortega, who plays the titular Wednesday Addams, made a surprise entrance during the performance. She casually walked across the stage and sat on a chair while Gaga danced atop a tabletop, a nod to the iconic dance scene from the show. Fans erupted with excitement, flooding social media with praise for the duo's powerful presence and gothic style. One fan exclaimed, 'Jenna came on stage with Gaga… I imagined this… I planned this and it came to life!!' Another hailed Ortega as 'the people's princess,' while a third called her 'an icon' who 'brought down the house with Lady Gaga'. Netflix also treated viewers to the first six minutes of Wednesday Season 2, which premieres on 6 August. The clip plunges Wednesday into a new murder mystery, with the character trapped in a basement by a serial killer played by Haley Joel Osment. Returning cast members include Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia and Luis Guzmán as Gomez, with Tim Burton returning as director. The new season promises more of the dark humour and supernatural thrills that made the first season a global hit. Lady Gaga's cameo was filmed in Ireland in just one day, and while details of her character remain under wraps, her involvement has fans buzzing with anticipation. Jenna Ortega praised working with Gaga and Burton, calling it 'a special environment' and describing Gaga as 'one of the most talented individuals I've ever worked with'.
