
Himachal Pradesh youth arrested after 'sensitive' content related to country's security found in his phone
'An 18-year-old youth was arrested on Thursday (May 27, 2025) after sensitive content which could endanger the sovereignty, unity and integrity of the country was allegedly found in his mobile phone,' police said.
'The accused has been identified as Abhishek, a resident of Sukahar in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra district. Abhishek, reportedly a college dropout, has been booked under the Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS),' a statement issued by the Police Headquarters here said.
'The police team had been monitoring the suspect closely for several days, collecting intelligence and keeping him under surveillance and on Thursday (May 29, 2025) a special team led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Dadaseeba raided the residence of the accused and took him in custody,' police said.
'He was brought to the Dehra police station for interrogation, and sensitive and objectionable content was allegedly found in his mobile phone,' the police said.

Man kills wife over extra marital relation in Bawana
A 38-year-old man was arrested on Monday for allegedly strangulating his wife to death in outer Delhi's Bawana on Sunday over a suspected extra marital relationship with his younger brother who lives in their neighbourhood. The victim was identified as a 32-year-old and the accused, her husband -- a factory worker -- as residents of Bawana, said deputy commissioner of police (outer north) Nidhin Valsan. Police control room was informed by the family relative, a neighbour, on Sunday afternoon, saying that she was lying dead in the washroom. The visiting police team found the woman's head in the toilet, and a black scarf wrapped around her neck, said an officer aware of the matter. 'Their daughter said she had stepped out of home for work. When she returned in the afternoon, she found her mother dead but father was nowhere,' the DCP said, adding that based on the teenager girl's statement a case on charges of murder was registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. As the man was absconding, he was the prime suspect. Following a search on Monday morning, he was apprehended from Bawana,an officer said. During interrogation, he purportedly told police that his wife was in a relationship with his brother. When he found out, they quarrelled and it turned violent. In a fit of rage, he allegedly first strangulated her and then shoved her head in the toilet, the officer added.

Himachal: Nepalese worker arrested for wife's murder
A Nepali labourer was arrested for murder of his wife in Kotkhai. The victim has been identified as Deepa. The accused have been identified as Jeet Bahadur. The case was registered on the complaint of Hari Krishan Dhanta, 61, who saw he body of the victim and informed the premises owner Ram Dhani. Danta told police said one of his labourers told him that Deepa was lying unconscious in the she of Ram Dhani and Jeet is also standing there. He further said that he than contacted Ram Dhani and then called police. At around 6 pm, police officials reached the spot along with Ram Dhani. Police officials confirmed the death. Jeet Bahadur confessed to the crime. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Police are also verifying the background of the deceased and the accused. Shimla superintendent of police (SP) Gaurav Singh said that police registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Kotkhai police station.

Four-month-old video lands 3 behind bars in Greater Noida
Three men were arrested in Greater Noida on Monday after a four-month-old video went viral on social media on Sunday evening, allegedly showing them dragging a police barricade behind their SUV and flashing a fake pistol, police said. The 13-second video shows a man grabbing a rope after tying a police barricade to the SUV. He then dragged the police barricade at high speed along an isolated road in Greater Noida. The man who grabbed the rope also flashed a pistol that was lying on the back seat. 'After the video went viral, we took cognizance and tracked down the suspects with the help of the registration number of the vehicle seen in the video. The suspects were identified as Nishant Pandit, his brother Saurabh Pandit—both residents of Habibpur in Ecotech 3—and Aryaket Singh, a resident of Chauganpur in Ecotech 3,' said Munendra Singh, Station House Officer, Dankaur Police Station. Police said that a case was registered at Dankaur police station on Monday. 'During interrogation, Nishant and his friend Aryaket revealed that they had gone to attend a marriage in Saurabh's Mahindra Scorpio. Saurabh had received the vehicle as dowry. While returning home to Greater Noida, Aryaket allegedly tied a police barricade to the SUV using a rope and dragged it for a few kilometres near the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) in Dankaur, Greater Noida, for amusement and to record a video to show off,' he added. The SHO added, 'Nishant was driving the car at the time of the incident. The video, which was recorded by Aryaket, was downloaded by someone from his social media account, after which it went viral on Sunday evening.' Police said that Nishant and Aryaket are students at a government college in Greater Noida. 'Saurabh was arrested for providing his vehicle to Nishant, and it was revealed that the gun seen in the video was a lighter. A case of public nuisance under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered against them at Dankaur police station on Monday, and further investigation is underway,' said SHO Singh, adding that the SUV was also seized.
