Former Strictly Come Dancing star 'excited' to announce baby news
A former Strictly star has announced her excitement at becoming a first-time grandmother.
A Strictly Come Dancing star has shared the delightful news that she is soon to become a grandmother. Annabel Croft, 58, has announced that her daughter Amber, 31, is expecting a baby later this year.
The former professional tennis player, who partnered with Johannes Radebe on Strictly in 2023, revealed that her first grandchild is expected in September. She expressed her joy, stating that the news is "something positive to look forward to".
She said: "I'm really excited to become a grandmother. When you have children yourself, it's such a whirlwind and you spend your life sort of treading water, and you don't enjoy the good bits.
"But now I'm looking forward to just enjoying every second."
Annabel participated in Strictly following the loss of her husband Mel Coleman, who tragically passed away from colon cancer, reports OK!.
Preparing for the arrival of her first grandchild, she conceded that she misses her late husband more than ever.
However, speaking to Hello! magazine, she affirmed that the family will continue to move forward and focus on the future: "When you deal with what we've dealt with as a family, you start to live in the moment, and that's our motto."
Annabel is scheduled to go on tour later this year where she will likely share updates about her experiences as a new grandmother.
In other Strictly news, speculation is rife about who will be participating in the upcoming series of the dance competition. Footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is rumoured to be one of the contestants.
While the BBC has yet to confirm the official line-up, the 53 year old could potentially follow in the footsteps of fellow footballers Alex Scott and Tony Adams.
An insider disclosed: "Jimmy has a huge fanbase from his years playing in the Premier League and is a very likeable character.
"Show producers are always keen to book a retired footballer as it gets footie fans tuning into the series and becoming unlikely fans of the show."
The source further told The Sun: "Jimmy has a competitive edge and is going to get his head in the game."
Viewers won't have to wait too long for the new series, which typically kicks off in September.
Last year's series saw comedian Chris McCausland clinch the trophy with Dianne Buswell.
One of last year's Strictly contestants, Wynne Evans has also received huge congratulations after announcing his engagement to long-term partner Liz Brookes.
The Welsh singer disclosed that he had asked for Liz's hand in marriage during a romantic Moroccan getaway.
Sharing the news on social media, Wynne posted: "Big news... I got engaged!" alongside an image showing the glinting engagement ring and the couple celebrating with champagne.
It comes after Wynne faced a number of scandals during his time on the BBC show, including his infamous 'spit-roast' comment, which contributed to his BBC Wales Radio show being axed.

Love Island star 'signs up for Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins' as she 'pushes herself to her limits'
Dani Dyer is reportedly set to take part in the upcoming series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. The reality star who shot to fame on Love Island back in 2018 is best known for her red carpet appearances, podcast with her dad Danny Dyer and family life with her now husband Jarrod Bowen. But friends have told The Sun the mother of three, 28, is keep to show fans a new side to her. A source said: 'Dani may be small in stature but she's incredibly tough. Any woman who can juggle working while being a mum to three children under four is impressive — and that's the woman Dani's friends and family see on a daily basis. 'Celebrity SAS is a really difficult show, both mentally and physically. It will push her to her limits but she can't wait to get started. 'If people thought her dad Danny was the hardman of the family, wait until they see what Dani's capable of.' MailOnline have contacted Dani's representatives for comment. The star recently tied the knot with West Ham footballer Jarrod after they said 'I do' in an outdoor ceremony at the £500-a-night Langley Hotel in Iver, Buckinghamshire, on May 31. The couple are parents to twin daughters Summer and Star, two, while Dani also has son Santiago, four, from her previous relationship with Sammy Kimmence. It could be a busy few months for Dani after it was previously reported she has also signed up to Strictly Come Dancing. The star is reported to be taking part in the next series, with The Sun claiming she has signed a pre-contract for the show and is currently in pay deal talks. A source told the publication: 'Bosses are thrilled she's agreed to take part and are ironing out her fee. 'She's bubbly, down-to-earth and straight-talking and producers reckon she'll make an ideal contestant — not to mention the bonus of having Jarrod and dad Danny in the audience supporting her.' Earlier this month Dani branded her husband and his pals 'd***s' for taking their PlayStations to their lavish wedding. Chatting with her dad Danny on an episode of their Live and Let Dyers podcast, she revealed: 'He said he ain't staying with me the night before, he went, "No, I don't want to stay with you". 'They were all taking, him and their mates, their PlayStations to the hotel. 'I was like, "You're all a bunch of d***s. Why are you all excited over playing PlayStation when you're going to be a husband?"' The 28-year-old England forward insisted getting hitched would not stop him from playing video games. Dani continued: 'He went, "Yeah, that don't change nothing, I'm still playing".' And Jarrod went back to playing video games on his PlayStation after the smitten couple's nuptials. Dani said: 'Then he said to me, "What are we doing on the Sunday after the wedding?" 'I said, "I don't know, we'll probably just be hanging, like, we'll come home". He went, "Oh, no, I just didn't know if I could play football champs on the Sunday".' 'I went, "Yeah play football champs, that's fine Jarrod, absolutely",' she added.
