In the image shared on his Instagram story, Kohli was seen training with Gujarat Titans' assistant coach Naeem Amin.
'Thanks for helping out with the hit, brother. Always lovely to see you,' he wrote.
A fan page later reposted the picture, hinting at Kohli's preparation for the Australian ODIs — a post that received a like from Kohli's official account.
Both Kohli and
continue to feature in ODIs after stepping away from T20Is and Tests. Rohit remains the ODI captain, while Kohli is still a central figure in the format.
The
, however, is treading carefully regarding their long-term ODI futures, with age emerging as a key discussion point.
By the 2027 ODI World Cup, Rohit will be 40 and Kohli 39.
Despite this, their combined ODI record — 83 centuries and over 25,000 runs — underscores their value to the team.
While India have transitioned from relying on them in other formats, their impact in 50-over cricket remains significant.
The Australia series, set for October 19–25, will be India's next ODI assignment, with both veterans expected to play vital roles.

'My country, my identity, my life' – Gautam Gambhir's powerful Independence Day message

India cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir (Ben Whitley/PA via AP) On Independence Day , Gautam Gambhir kept it simple but powerful. Posting a picture with the tricolour, he wrote, 'My country, my identity, my life! Jai Hind!🇮🇳' — a message that resonated with fans across India. It was more than a patriotic caption; it was a reflection of a man whose cricketing journey has always been intertwined with the nation's pride. Gautam Gambhir tweet on X Now serving as India's head coach, Gambhir carries the same passion he once showed as an opener. His tenure, which began in July 2024, has already been full of highs, lows and intense scrutiny. In Test cricket, results have been mixed. India has played 15 Tests under him, winning five, losing eight and drawing two. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! The most recent Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in England was a thrilling battle — India lost the first and third Tests, bounced back to win the second and final matches, with a high-scoring draw in Manchester sealing a 2-2 series result. It was a contest filled with tense finishes, resilient comebacks and moments that reminded fans of India's fighting spirit. Poll How do you feel about Gautam Gambhir's impact as India's head coach so far? Very Positive Somewhat Positive Neutral Negative In white-ball cricket, Gambhir's impact has been more immediate. India has dominated in T20Is, winning 13 out of 15 games, remaining unbeaten in series. ODIs saw an early stumble with a home series loss to Sri Lanka, but the team rebounded strongly, winning eight consecutive matches and lifting the 2025 Champions Trophy. Gambhir's leadership style has sometimes drawn criticism for too much chopping and changing, but he remains steadfast in taking responsibility, famously saying, 'We lose together, we win together.' For a man who scored 97 in the 2011 World Cup final and 75 in the 2007 T20 World Cup final, that sense of accountability and love for the country is nothing new. His Independence Day post was a reminder that, for him, cricket and patriotism have always gone hand in hand. Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4. Watch Here!

Jayden Daniels hilariously struggles to hold baby during Commanders practice in must-see viral moment

Jayden Daniels' baby moment during Commanders practice proves he's not quite ready for dad duties yet (Instagram/Commanders and Imagn Images) Jayden Daniels may have already risen in the NFL spotlight, but the Washington Commanders star just proved there's one area where he's hilariously out of his depth—holding babies. The reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, who carried his team all the way to the NFC Championship Game in his debut season, brought long-lost hope to a fan base still healing from the Dan Snyder era. But when it comes to childcare, the 24-year-old quarterback still has some learning to do. Jayden Daniels entertains fans with awkward baby moment Known for his calm composure in high-pressure games, Jayden Daniels looked anything but comfortable when handed teammate Mike Sainristil's nearly 14-month-old daughter, Summer. The Heisman Trophy winner held her at arm's length like an alien life form, clearly unsure of his next move. His discomfort didn't go unnoticed, as he quickly returned Summer to her mom with the kind of speed Commanders fans usually see on his scrambles. The Commanders' official Instagram had fun with the moment, captioning it: 'Uncle Jayden reporting for duty 🫡.' Daniels, ever the good sport, smiled throughout the clip—though it's safe to say he's not ready for fatherhood just yet. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Simple Morning Habit for a Flatter Belly After 50! Let's just say his technique could use some preseason reps. Commanders fans still focused on the bigger picture Whether he's awkwardly holding a toddler or leading a game-winning drive, Daniels remains a beloved figure in Washington. Fans aren't worried about his baby-handling skills as long as he keeps delivering on the field. And after his historic rookie season, expectations are sky-high for his sophomore year. Daniels is ready to script his next chapter. After a sensational rookie campaign that saw him guide Washington to their first NFC Championship Game in 33 years, the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year enters 2024 with laser focus and sky-high ambition. For the rest of the league, that's a dangerous combination. At just 24, Daniels has become the face of a franchise hungry for glory. His leadership has grown over the offseason, as he's been far more vocal with teammates than during his early rookie days. Fans, long starved of success, now see him as the quarterback who can restore Washington's proud football tradition. After coming within one win of the Super Bowl, the Commanders know the bar is higher than ever. Daniels doesn't need reminding—he's already preparing to meet those expectations head-on and push his team even further. ‘Shubman Gill needs players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma': India legend sends bold message to BCCI

Since announcing their Test retirements and leading India to Champions Trophy glory, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli haven't featured in any international match. The pair have already retired from T20Is, and there have already been question marks over their ODI future too. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired from Tests and T20Is.(X Images) But former India cricketer Suresh Raina feels the pair are crucial to India's ODI setup, as the pair can guide the younger players too. Suresh Raina backs Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli Speaking to Telecom Asia Sport, he said, 'Rohit and Virat's experience is very important. It's crucial for the seniors to stay involved with the juniors. Shubman (Gill) has done really well, but he needs players like Virat and Rohit.' 'They have won the Champions Trophy, they have won the World Cups. Virat won the last IPL also. For the astute leadership they have shown during their respective careers, they need to be part of the dressing room.' Rohit and Kohli are expected to make their returns to international in the Australia tour later this year, which includes three ODIs. Meanwhile, Raina also backed Siraj to feature in all three formats, explaining his importance to the Indian team. 'Siraj should be part of the Indian set-up in all three formats, given how he has performed for the country with both the white ball and red ball. He bowled 187 overs in the series and came through without any niggle,' he said. There has also been huge uncertainty over Rohit and Kohli's future, but the pair have expressed their desire to participate at the 2027 World Cup. There have been reports that the BCCI wants them to feature in domestic cricket during their time away from the international setup, and failing to do so might se them get dropped. The last time such suggestions were made, the pair ended up retiring from Test cricket. So it their ODI future is not confirmed officially by BCCI.
