"Delhi suffered 11 years of misgovernance, now seeing results of 100 days of good governance," BJP MP Yogendra Chandolia
New Delhi [India], June 2 (ANI): BJP MP Yogendra Chandolia has praised the BJP-led Delhi government's 100-day performance while launching a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for what he called eleven years of misgovernance.
Chandolia highlighted improvements in sanitation, healthcare, and transport, claiming the current administration has delivered visible change in contrast to the AAP government's alleged failures.
Speaking to ANI, Chandolia said, 'Delhi suffered eleven years of misgovernance, and now it's seeing the results of a hundred days of good governance. In just one monsoon, work that was neglected for over a decade is finally being done--silt is being cleared from roads and drains that were never cleaned before.'
Chandolia alleged that fake billing was rampant during the AAP government's tenure, while basic services like drinking water remained out of reach for many citizens. 'Under the previous government, fake billing thrived while citizens struggled for drinking water,' he said.
Aiming at AAP's unfulfilled transport promises, he said, 'Kejriwal had promised 10,000 electric buses in eleven years. Still, it is under the BJP-led government that new buses are being delivered.'
He also accused the AAP government of depriving citizens of vital healthcare benefits. 'Due to Kejriwal's refusal, the people of Delhi were denied the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Today, citizens above 70 years receive health insurance coverage of Rs 10 lakh through a combined effort of the Prime Minister's and Delhi government's schemes.'
He added, 'The previous government boasted about a health and education model but failed to equip hospitals with basic facilities like diagnostic machines. In contrast, within a hundred days, visible change has begun.'
He also underscored improvements in sanitation and waste management. 'Garbage piled up for years is being removed from the streets and drains. The landfill mountains in places like Ghazipur are finally shrinking. If this progress continues for 365 days, Delhi will truly witness a transformation into a cleaner, more beautiful capital,' he said.
Earlier, BJP leader Mohan Singh Bisht praised the transformative first hundred days of the BJP-led Delhi government, highlighting significant achievements and a proactive approach that has restored public trust after 27 years.
He credited Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for demonstrating strong willpower in driving Delhi's development while criticising the AAP for continuing to suppress public voices in the Assembly.
After completing 100 days in office as the Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta said it was not just a responsibility but a 'politics centred on public service, and policies that are for public welfare.' (ANI)

External affairs minister S Jaishankar met members of BJP lawmaker Baijayant Panda-headed diplomatic delegation, which returned from its four-nation tour on Tuesday, and told them that the journey was successful and the objectives have been completed. The multi-party delegation, which left Delhi on May 24, was the first to return after touring Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Algeria. The delegation members met Jaishankar at his office and presented him a report on how they exposed Pakistan in various countries over its support to terrorism. Former foreign secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla, who was part of the delegation, said the meeting with Jaishankar was 'quite fruitful'. 'The meeting was really good; feedback was given to the external affairs minister. All delegation members shared their views, and I think the minister got the feedback from the mission as well. But this time, the delegates have shared it first-hand. He (Jaishankar) said that the journey was quite successful, our objectives were completed, and he congratulated the delegation members and leaders,' Shringla added. Panda in a post on X said: 'When it comes to standing up for India, when it comes to taking a strong stand against cross-border terrorism sponsored by Pakistan, there was no let-up from anybody. All of our delegates were united and gave a very strong message — and it was very well received.' 'The new normal is very clear: we will retaliate, we will extract a cost from Pakistan,' he added. In an earlier post after the completion of the key diplomatic tour, Panda said that over the past few days, the delegation 'carried India's strong message against terrorism, reinforced historic ties, and engaged in high-level dialogues.' He also expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and meaningful discussions in each country. 'A special appreciation to my fellow delegation members — their insights, dedication, and teamwork were crucial in amplifying India's voice throughout this mission,' he added. The delegation also comprises BJP leaders Nishikant Dubey, Phangnon Konyak, and Rekha Sharma, AIMIM lawmaker Asaduddin Owaisi, Satnam Sandhu (nominated), former minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Shringla. Jaishankar is expected to meet the remaining six delegations before Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets all members of the seven delegations next week. A total of seven delegations, led by Congress lawmaker Shashi Tharoor, NCP(SP)'s Supriya Sule, BJP's Ravishankar Prasad and Panda, Shiv Sena's Srikant Shinde, DMK leader K Kanimozhi and JD(U) lawmaker Sanjay Jha went to 38 countries and the European headquarters of Brussels. A total of 55 leaders including lawmakers, former diplomats and former Union ministers formed the delegations. They aimed at reaching out to the international community on Pakistan's designs and India's response to terror after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians. India carried out precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 7 under Operation Sindoor, following which Pakistan attempted to attack the Indian military bases over the next three days. The Indian side responded strongly to the Pakistani actions. Speaking about the tour, Nishikant Dubey claimed: 'All countries are both impressed and astonished by the nation's development under the leadership of PM Modi. All countries consider India their friend and are united against Pakistan. Everyone is interested in doing business with us. All members of our delegation expressed views on Pakistan's weakness and the fact that India has no option but to attack Pakistan to ensure the safety of its citizens.'

Remove Ads Violations highlighted in CVC report The Anti-Corruption Branch ACB ) of Delhi has called on former ministers Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain to appear in connection with a corruption case linked to the construction of classrooms in government schools during the last Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. Jain is scheduled to appear on June 6, while Sisodia must report on June 9. This summons follows allegations involving a staggering Rs 2,000 crore in April 30, the ACB filed a First Information Report (FIR) accusing the two leaders of corruption tied to the building of 12,748 classrooms or semi-permanent structures. Sisodia oversaw finance and education departments, while Jain was responsible for health, industries, power, home affairs, urban development, and public works during the AAP's Commissioner Madhur Verma, who leads the ACB, explained the FIR followed findings from the Central Vigilance Commission 's (CVC) Chief Technical Examiner. He said, 'The Chief Technical Examiner's report of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) pointed out several anomalies in the project, and the report was kept under the carpet for about three years.' The case was registered after permission under section 17-A of the Prevention of Corruption Act was granted.A key concern is the massive cost increase during construction. According to ACB officials, classrooms were to be built at Rs 1,200 per square foot but ended up costing nearly Rs 2,292 per square foot. BJP leaders claim this surge indicates corruption. The complaint they filed in 2019 noted that the cost per classroom was Rs 24.86 lakh—far higher than the roughly Rs 5 lakh typically spent on similar projects in project involved 34 contractors, many allegedly linked to the AAP. BJP leaders Kapil Mishra, Harish Khurana, and Neelkant Bakshi accused the former government of financial mismanagement in three school 2020 CVC report detailed multiple violations of government rules and tendering procedures. It found contracts awarded without proper bidding, project costs inflated by 17% to 90% without fresh tenders, and private consultants hired without following protocol. The report also flagged duplication of work, construction without actual demand from schools, and mismanagement of funds and AAP called the allegations 'a calculated political ploy by the BJP,' saying, 'They are weaponizing institutions to attack AAP leaders and create a false narrative… When Aam Aadmi Party held power in Delhi, the BJP systematically defanged the ACB to strip it of any real authority. Today, they are using the same weakened institution as a tool to target AAP leaders and further their own agenda.'Both Sisodia and Jain have faced legal challenges before. Sisodia was arrested in the Delhi excise policy case, while Jain was detained in a money laundering investigation. Both remain out on bail.

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday launched a multifold attack on leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, calling him a 'leader of Pakistani propaganda" over his "PM Modi surrendered' remarks amid the India-Pakistan ceasefire understanding. BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala asked the Congress leader to listen to Shashi Tharoor and other party leaders, who have said there was no third-party mediation to pause Operation Sindoor. "Rahul Gandhi has once again understood that the meaning of LoP is the leader of Pakistani propaganda. The kind of propaganda that even Pakistan was not able to do, he is doing," PTI quoted Poonawala as saying. Poonawala said Rahul Gandhi likes things which are foreign, be it propaganda or a leader. According to Shehzad Poonawalla, Pakistan, which has 'admitted' that it was "beaten up" by India during Operation Sindoor, was "pleading" with India to stop military action. "Rahul Gandhi, believe in what the DGMO said, what the ministry of external affairs said. If not them, at least believe in Shashi (Tharoor), Manish (Tewari) and Salman (Khurshid). They have said that no mediation happened, India did not call up (Pakistan), their DGMO reached out to India," Poonawalla said. BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari also launched a fierce attack on the Rae Bareli MP, accusing him of making "indecent" remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and questioning his values and patriotism. "Rahul Gandhi's words reflect his values. He makes such indecent remarks against the country's Prime Minister. But this is what can be expected from Rahul Gandhi, whose heart beats for Pakistan. Because when he offers floral tributes to the statue of his grandmother (Indira Gandhi), he does not even remove his shoes," Bhandari said. BJP MP Sambit Patra said Rahul Gandhi's speech in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday does not befit any "civilised politician or any leader of the opposition." Sharing a self-made video on X, Sambit Patra said, 'Today, during his speech in Madhya Pradesh, Rahul Gandhi has not only insulted Operation Sindoor but also the Indian Army and the country. The way Rahul Gandhi spoke about Operation Sindoor does not befit any civilised politician, any leader of the opposition or any politician. This kind of politician, who uses words like 'surrender' for his motherland, is not fit for the country.' Rahul Gandhi attacked the BJP-led government on Tuesday over allegations of mediation by the United States in Operation Sindoor. He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi "followed" Donald Trump after the US leader called him and that the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi did not budge to the US in the 1971 war. "Now, I understand RSS-BJP well. They run away out of fear if slight pressure is put on them. When Trump called Modiji- Modiji kya kar rahe ho, Narender-Surrender and with 'ji hazooor', Narenderji followed Trump. In the 1971 war, the Seventh Fleet came from the US. India Gandhi said I will do whatever I have to do. This is the difference. This is their character; all of them are like this. Since the Independence movement, they have had the habit of writing letters of surrender," he said while addressing a convention of Congress workers in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal. Rahul Gandhi doubled down on his attack through a social media post, stating, "Trump's phone came, and PM Narendra Modi ji immediately surrendered. History is witness. This is the character of the BJP-RSS; they always budge. India had bifurcated Pakistan in 1971 despite the threat by the United States.
