BJP Highlights 11 Years of Modi's Governance in Gadwal's Ward no. 36
Gadwal: As part of a nationwide campaign to showcase the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 11 years in office, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) conducted a 'Rachabanda' (public interaction) program today in Ward 36 of Gadwal town under the leadership of BJP Town President Rajaka Jayashree.
The event was graced by BJP candidate Baligera Shiva Reddy as the chief guest, who addressed the gathering and elaborated on key initiatives undertaken by the central government for the welfare of the poor and the overall development of the nation.

Accusing Bharatiya Janata Party governments in different parts of the country of targeting Bengali-speaking citizens, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Monday that state governments are labelling residents of Bengal with valid documents as illegal Bangladeshi immigrants. Addressing the State Assembly, the Chief Minister said that BJP ruled governments are depriving migrant workers of their right to earn a livelihood despite their possessing voter IDs, PAN, and Aadhaar cards. 'Despite having all the legal documents. Bengalis are being pushed into Bangladesh. If anyone speaks Bengali, they become Bangladeshi? This is happening in every state that has double engine governments,' Ms. Banerjee said. Double engine discrimination The Chief Minister had in the past alleged that migrant workers from the State are being targeted in BJP ruled states. Her remarks came a day after three residents of West Bengal, working in Mumbai were allegedly forced into Bangladesh by the BSF. The migrant workers, two from Murshidabad and one from Purba Bardhaman, however, were repatriated on Sunday to West Bengal after intervention by the State authorities. The Chief Minister also targeted the West Bengal State BJP president, Sukanta Majumadar, calling him a 'half minister.' Mr. Majumdar is the Minister of State for Education & Development of the North Eastern Region and has been embroiled in a controversy for hurling a poster resembling a pair of slippers towards a police officer during protests near the Chief Minister's residence. 'There is a half-central minister who is in love with slippers. Why don't they (BJP) open slipper shops?' she said without naming anyone. Denial of central funds Ms. Banerjee spoke out on the denial of central funds to the State. She said that the Union Government sent 155 teams to the State looking for corruption and found nothing. She stressed that funds for MGNREGA have been stopped by the Centre and the State Government has subsequently started its own scheme named 'Karmashree,' as part of which it has created 1.5 crore mandays under various schemes. 'Bengal has topped road and rural housing project rankings five times in a row... No one can derail us or stop us from realising our dreams,' the Chief Minister said. Ms. Banerjee also spoke about the political courtesy her party displayed over the Air India plane tragedy in Ahmedabad. 'BJP looted the country and sold it. Even on the day so many died in Gujarat, we didn't speak a word. That's called political courtesy,' Ms. Banerjee said. India backs Cyprus in its fight against Turkiye

NEW DELHI: With Israel and Iran teetering on the brink of a full-blown war, PM Narendra Modi on Monday said resolving issues through dialogue and restoring stability was the cry of humanity. Speaking alongside Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides in Nicosia, Modi reiterated his message that this isn't the era of war. Modi's visit to Cyprus - the first by an Indian PM in 23 years - saw the two sides discussing efforts to scale up cooperation in defence, security and connectivity with focus on IMEEC, with the PM strongly backing sovereignty and territorial integrity of the eastern Mediterranean country that is not recognised by Turkiye, a Pakistan ally. "We both have expressed concern about the ongoing conflicts in West Asia and Europe. Their negative impact is not limited to that region alone. We both believe that this is not the era of war," Modi said after his talks with the Cypriot president. Modi thanked Cyprus for its continued support to India's fight against cross-border terrorism and announced a new mechanism for real-time information exchange to counter terrorism, drug and arms smuggling. The president reiterated Cyprus's strong condemnation of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, backing India's sovereignty and territorial integrity. In a show of solidarity with Cyprus, Modi visited the Green Line - a UN-controlled buffer zone that separates Northern Cyprus, an area occupied by Turkish forces in 1974, from the Republic of Cyprus - along with Christodoulides. This is significant in the context of Turkiye's continued support to Pakistan that saw Ankara helping Islamabad militarily during the recent India-Pakistan conflict. Turkish President Recep Erdogan himself later said Turkiye would continue to stand by Pakistan, though "good times and bad". Modi also reiterated India's traditional support for Cyprus's unity and for a peaceful resolution of the Cyprus Question based on UN Security Council resolutions and international law. Several of these resolutions call for the withdrawal of Turkish forces from the island of Cyprus. "India reiterated its unwavering and consistent support for the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and unity of the Republic of Cyprus. In this regard, both sides emphasised the need to avoid unilateral actions as essential for creating a conducive environment for the resumption of meaningful negotiations," said a joint statement. Modi said the two sides would prepare a roadmap to give a strategic direction to the partnership for the next five years. On the issue of terrorism, both sides reiterated in a joint statement their zero-tolerance approach to terrorism, rejecting any justification for such acts, under any circumstances. "They emphasised that those responsible for the attacks should be held accountable," said the statement, while condemning the Pahalgam attack.

Canadian dentist cremated in Lunawada
Vadodara: The only Canadian citizen aboard Flight AI-171 which crashed in Ahmedabad on Thursday was cremated in Lunawada in Mahisagar district on Monday. Dr Nirali Patel's body was brought to the town on Monday morning. Nirali, a dentist based in Canada, had come to India for a social function and was returning to Canada via London when the crash took place. Her husband, Dr Devesh Shukla, also a dentist, is from Lunawada. The couple had settled in Ontario. He had stayed back in Canada with their son. Devesh is the son of former Lunawada municipality president Tarlika Shukla, a Lunawada doctor, who was also in Canada when the crash occurred. Sources said Tarlika and her family have been closely associated with the BJP for a long time. Lunawada mamlatdar B P Khant told mediapersons that the deceased's DNA was matched with that of her parents. The body was then handed to relatives, who brought it to Lunawada on Monday morning. A funeral procession was taken from the Shuklas' residence to the crematorium. Many town residents and BJP members joined the procession, apart from family members.
