Nick Frost Teases His Own Version of Hagrid for the Potter Reboot
The Harry Potter reboot moves forward (whether you like it or not), and we have a new cast of actors playing beloved characters from the original films.
Nick Frost is going to be taking over the role of Hagrid that was originally played by Robbie Coltrane, and Frost talks a bit about how he's going to be treating the character moving forward. Talking to ScreenRant, Frost explains:
'Look, I'm a dad myself, so I am going to be very protective to the children, and I think that is Hagrid's — one of the kind of baselines of his relationship with those children… He's very protective of them, and I honestly can't wait.'
Frost also teases that he's already seen some things that have been built for the reboot including a new Sorting Hat as well as some Wands.
As far as what came before, Frost had told Collider that he won't be attempting to mimic Coltrane's original performance. Frost says, 'While I'm really aware of what went before me in terms of Robbie's amazing performance, I'm never going to try and be Robbie. I'm going to try and do something, not 'different,' I think you have to be respectful to the subject matter, but within that, there's scope for minutia.'
As far as specifics go, Frost was able to say, ' He's funny! I want it to be funny and cheeky and scared and protective and childlike. That's what I'm planning on doing.'
If you've watched S keleton Crew on Disney+, we know that Frost already has the Hagrid voice down, but it's going to be interesting how he could be changing the character for the reboot. It's odd because even though it's a reboot, a lot of fans are expecting a lot of elements to stay the same. Otherwise, they would have to renovate the theme parks wouldn't they?
The Potter reboot is expected to premiere on HBO Max sometime in 2027. You can catch Frost as SM-33 in Skeleton Crew now streaming on Disney+.

Vision Quest Casts Ultron's Wife Jocasta and Human Version of EDITH
We've barely gotten any updates on Disney+'s Vision Quest series, but we've been getting some new casting rumors about characters that will be appearing in the show–specifically other AI like Vision. Besides the return of James Spader as Ultron, Deadline has also reported that T'Nia Miller ( The Haunting of Bly Manor ) has been cast as Jocasta in the series. In the comics, Jocasta was a robot created by Ultron (just like Vision) with the intention to put Janet Van Dyne's (The Wasp) consciousness inside her and make her his robot wife. Apparently that backfires and Jocasta ends up being a force for good. With the changes in Ultron's origins in the MCU, it would be possible that Jocasta's origins will be different, but the leaked concept art for Doomsday did feature concept art for Jocasta who was also played by Michelle Pfeiffer (a.k.a. Janet from Quantumania ). Besides Miller, there is also a rumor going around that Emily Hampshire ( Schitt's Creek ) has also been cast in the series as the human version of EDITH—the AI that was gifted to Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Far from Home . EDITH hasn't been explored or mentioned since that movie, but it would make sense for a show about Vision to delve into all the other AI characters in the MCU. I wouldn't be surprised if the original JARVIS showed up, or other AI like Tony Stark's Friday—the AI that helps him right after he lost JARVIS to Ultron. Vision Quest is expected to release on Disney+ sometime in 2026.

Why the New Harry Potter Trio will have it Worse Than the Original
They're finally here. After months of anticipation, WB has officially revealed that the new trio of the Potter reboot which includes Dominic McLaughlin (Harry), Alastair Stout (Ron), and Arabella Stanton (Hermione). Already reactions have started to get toxic, and some fans are already bracing themselves for the kind of vitriol that these children are going to be up against online. i'm not interested in this reboot, but i pray for the safety and protection of these kids. their lives are about to become very messy very fast, and i wish them the best of luck in the face of discrimination, adversity, and parasocial fanaticism from harry potter adults — *leslie (@LE5B0B0MB) May 27, 2025 Even with the original trio of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, the actors have been open about how hard it was to become celebrities at such young ages, and at one point Watson even wanted to quit around the time of the third movie. With McLaughlin, Stout, and Stanton, they now have the internet to worry about, plus the toxic fans that seem to make meals out of hating every single change that comes with new adaptations. I mean, the movies were already being harshly compared to the books, but now the series has a bigger audience to satisfy thanks to the films. With studios recently making moves to protect some of their actors online, I hope that WB already has systems in place to protect the new trio from any online vitriol. That being said, there are still ways for toxic fandoms to get to actors. The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey had to quit social media after relentless bullying from everyone who didn't think that she looked like Ellie from the game, and TLOU threads are just littered with very horrible edits of her. There are some that suggest that the series follow The Crown 's format and just recast the main trio every few years, but as it stands, WB is making a huge gamble with this reboot, and these kids are going to have some huge shoes to fill. In the meantime, Harry Potter is aiming to release sometime in 2027, and with the main trio cast, production can be underway very soon. Watch out for the Potter reboot on HBO Max.
