Felix Baumgartner 'was dead BEFORE he hit the ground' near kids playing in pool

Felix Baumgartner is understood to have complained of feeling unwell while his paraglider was airborne shortly before losing control and crash-landing in a busy hotel swimming pool
Austrian daredevil Felix Baumgartner - who rose to fame in 2012 after jumping from the edge of space - is thought to have died after suffering a cardiac arrest mid-air while paragliding in Italy.

The sportsman, 56, died at around 4pm Thursday, July 17 with local reports saying his craft landed in a swimming pool at a holiday resort in Porto Sant'Elpidio, Fermo, leaving one hotel employee on the ground injured.

Felix is understood to have complained of feeling unwell while his paraglider was airborne, losing control of the craft shortly after. The woman hit by his paraglider was rushed to hospital, but is not in a serious condition.

The swimming pool was reportedly crowded at the time of the incident, teeming with playing children who were forced to witness the sport star's tragic death, as per Repubblica. According to Italian local media, it is thought Baumgartner suffered cardiac arrest mid-air, reports MailOnline.

Baumgartner had taken off from Fermo, but while flying over the coast, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control of the powered hang glider. After the crash, he had lost consciousness and went into cardiac arrest.
Emergency responders requested an air ambulance for transport to the Torrette Hospital in Ancona, but Felix was pronounced dead at the scene.
A few hours before the accident, Felix posted a video on his Instagram showing him paragliding in circles over a field, completely unaware of the tragedy that was about to strike. He also shared a photo of an airfield with the caption: "Too much wind."

Felix Baumgartner became famous around the world in 2012 when he successfully completed a record-breaking jump from the stratosphere at a height of 24 miles (128,100ft). Felix's descent from the 'edge of space' in a pressure suit lasted around 10 minutes, and saw him become the first man to break the sound barrier in free fall.
But, his career began at a very young age, after he started skydiving at just 16-years-old.
In 1988, he began collaborating with the Red Bull brand, and from the 1990s onwards, he also tried his hand at base jumping and set several records and 14 world records. In 2003 he also became the first man to fly across the English Channel in a wingsuit
The city's mayor, Massimiliano Ciarpella, confirmed Baumgartner's death in a social media post "Our community is deeply affected by the tragic disappearance of Felix Baumgartner, a figure of global prominence, a symbol of courage and passion for extreme flight." Mr Ciarpella said.
And tragically, just days prior, Felix posted a selfie almost directly above where he died in his motorised paraglider. On Saturday, July 12 he captioned the post: "Flying holiday greetings from Fermo Italy. Where are you vacationing this year?"

Actress shares major update on Madonna biopic after having to ‘convince' star

Julia Garner has revealed the Madonna biopic, in which she will play the music icon, is still in the works. She also reassured fans about the delay, saying that 'anything that's great…takes a long time'. The Ozark actress was reportedly cast as the Material Girl hitmaker in 2022 but months later, the project was placed on hold, and its fate has been up in the air ever since. However, Julia said in a new interview on Monday that it is 'supposed to still happen'. The Fantastic Four: First Steps star had been a fan of Madonna when she was growing up so knew she had to audition as soon as she heard the project was in the pipeline. She told the SmartLess podcast of her initial involvement with the biopic: 'It just came about… like I knew that they were doing a project, making a movie about it, and then I went out to audition. I kind of just wanted to see if I could do it.' The 31-year-old actress has no dance training, so she had to learn how to move and then show off her skills in front of Madonna herself – as well as sing with her – and 'convince' the 66-year-old that she could do both. Naturally, a very daunting situation – but the Inventing Anna star decided to channel the Vogue hitmaker during the nerve-wracking process. Explaining that she asked herself what Madonna would do, she added: 'Which is like convince you that she deserves to be in this room. And I owned it. I was like, 'You can take it or leave it, but if you leave it, if I leave, then that's on you.'' In July last year, Madonna revealed she was working on a new draft script for the biopic, which is expected to be titled Who's That Girl in a nod to the singer's 1987 movie and song of the same name. She will also be directing the movie. Madonna took to Instagram and posted a collection of photos of herself working on the script with the caption: 'I Need A-lot of Bandz to make this ……….. OKAY. (Story of my life) [sic].' The film was announced in 2020, and Oscar-winning Juno scribe Diablo Cody and Snow White's Erin Cressida Wilson were brought on to help the Like A Virgin hitmaker with the script and screenplay. However, in January 2023, it was revealed the film had been paused indefinitely at Universal Pictures. After the movie was shelved, Madonna went on her Celebration Tour in October 2023 to mark four decades in the music industry, but reportedly resumed work on the project once she got back home in June in the hopes she could finalise the script with Universal. An industry insider previously told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: 'Madonna has only just finished her tour but in her mind it is on to the next project and fulfilling her dream of getting the biopic made. 'Julia is still her lead actress and they have remained in touch for the past year, talking through ideas. They are committed to creating some magic.' The duo had also hyped up fans by being photographed together at a celebrity party in May that year, chowing down on chips, while Julia also appeared onstage during the tour with Madonna in December 2023. The Papa Don't Preach chart-topper had explained she wanted to both direct and write the movie because she wanted complete control over the project. She told Variety: 'I've had an extraordinary life, I must make an extraordinary film. 'It was also a pre-emptive strike because a lot of people were trying to make movies about me. Mostly misogynistic men. 'So I put my foot in the door and said, 'No one's going to tell my story, but me.'' More Trending Madonna would be following a line of musical biopics produced in recent years, including Queen film Bohemian Rhapsody, Sir Elton John movie Rocketman and the underperforming Better Man, based on the life of Robbie Williams. Garner is currently in cinemas as the Silver Surfer opposite Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach in the MCU's reboot of The Fantastic Four. It's enjoyed a strong opening, raking in $218million (£163.3m) already, surpassing the summer's other superhero flack in DC Studio's Superman from director James Gunn. Got a story? Axed Scots Gogglebox couple release heartfelt statement as fans left gutted over exit

Gogglebox stars Roisin Kelly and Joe Kelly have been brutally dumped from the show after three and half years. Gogglebox fan favourite couple Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle have released a heartfelt statement after they were brutally dumped from the Channel 4 show. The beloved duo, who hail from Glasgow, shocked social media on Monday evening when they announced they had been axed from the programme after three and a half years despite being one of the most popular couples among Gogglebox fans. ‌ Roisin, who celebrated her 27th birthday earlier this week, took to her social media accounts on Instagram and TikTok to announce the sad news that she and Joe, 28, had not made the cut for season 26. The pair have released an emotional joint statement following their departure. ‌ It reads: "After three and a half years of sitting on the sofa, Channel 4 have decided it's time for Joe and I to stretch our legs and have not asked us back for season 26. Therefore we are leaving the Gogglebox family. We couldn't be more grateful to Studio Lambert for the opportunity, the experience has actually been so mad and we will miss watching tv with you all on Friday nights! ‌ "It's been an honour to represent Scotland as some of the first Scottish people on the show and prove we don't actually need subtitles." She continued: "We have made friends for life and after filming every week for years you have become like our family! We could not have asked for better people to work with and we will miss you immensely. ‌ "A huge thank you to everyone who has watched us, met us and supported us during this experience, it has for sure been a once in a lifetime opportunity. "Time to watch TV in silence for a bit and put down the popcorn. Miss you already, Roisin and Joe." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Underneath Roisin's post on TikTok, one fan fumed: "That's a stupid decision by ch4/gogglebox! Sorry to hear this." A second chimed in: "Gutted! Their loss though." ‌ A third echoed: "Nooo you were a favourite in our house! Very stupid move from Channel 4." Roisin and Joe were the only Scottish cast members left on the show and fans have been quick to point out that Scotland is no longer being represented on the programme. ‌ One complained: "Aw man, this is s****. No Scottish voices on the show anymore! You were great." Another wrote: "Hate this! It was nice to have Scottish people and the West of Scotland sense of humour represented on TV, not worth watching anymore." A third added: "Oh no way! Typical because they are Scottish." Fans are hoping it won't be the last they'll see of Roisin and Joe on their screens and their Gogglebox axe means Roisin may now find the time to return to her podcast, Nags and Brags, which she co-hosts with pal and Clyde 1 breakfast show broadcaster, Cassi Gillespie. Nags and Brags covers a variety of subjects, from dating woes to fashion faux pas, with the show temporarily being put on hiatus while Roisin and Cassie juggled their other work commitments.
