Killings, 53, made the announcement via social media on Sunday, June 1. The popular wrestler wrote, "I'm sorry to inform you all. I just got released from WWE. I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and EVERYONE OF YOU who was along for the ride," in a post on X.

"Thank you for all the love, support, and appreciation you have given me over the years. Thank you," he concluded the message to fans.
The announcement inspired a flood of tribute posts honoring R-Truth's career in the WWE. Wrestler Nattie Neidhart shared photos with her fellow WWE star and wrote, "You are a class act @RonKillings. You were amazing to me since day one when I met you doing my first independent wrestling show in the U.S."

Carmelo Hayes said, "Thank you for everything you've done for the business, the doors you opened and being a real OG to the whole locker room. Taught me a lot about the game and how to navigate this business. Ron Killings is timeless!"
ESPN's Pat McAfee paid tribute to the wrestler's career as well, writing, "I love @RonKillings. It's guaranteed joy when he's a part of a segment.. He's also my dad's favorite WWE Superstar of all time. The McAfees are bummed aht but we all know R Truth will continue to bless the world with his BIG ass brain."
Before his "release" from the company, R-Truth had been feuding with WWE star John Cena amid the wrestler-turned-actor's farewell tour.
The dispute began at WWE Backlash 2025 when R-Truth intervened during Cena's match against Randy Orton. In a video shared by Bleacher Report, Cena puts R-Truth through a table during a heated press conference.

But after R-Truth announced his release, Cena paid his respects to the longtime WWE star on social media. Cena didn't add a caption to his post, but he shared a photo of R-Truth on Instagram one day after the news that R-Truth was leaving the company.

Chad Michael Murray Reveals He Prayed 'Every Single Night' for 2 Years for 'Sullivan's Crossing' Gig (Exclusive)
Murray tells PEOPLE he wanted a role that would allow him the opportunity "to make sure that I'm around to be a dad" for his three kidsNEED TO KNOW Chad Michael Murray tells PEOPLE exclusively that he prayed "every single night" for two years for his role on Sullivan's Crossing so he could put his family first "It was a very specific, very detailed prayer that I put out every single night ... and here we are going into season 4," he says of the show's success The first three seasons of Sullivan's Crossing are streaming now on NetflixFor Chad Michael Murray, his role on Sullivan's Crossing is a blessing. Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, Murray, 43, reveals he "prayed every single night" for two years for a project like the Canadian romantic drama, which first premiered in 2023 and is based on a novel series by Robyn Carr. He says his prayers were for "a show that didn't feel gratuitous, that was very family-friendly, that ended up in a very beautiful location where my family and I felt like we could integrate into the community … with a cast that we'd all get along and everyone would bond." "It was a very specific, very detailed prayer that I put out every single night, and then came Sullivan's Crossing, and here we are going into season 4," he continues. "S---, it's awesome. It's crazy." Murray and his wife Sarah Roemer share three children — a son, born in 2015, and two daughters, born in 2017 and 2023. "Having kids, I've been very specific about what I want to do," he explains. "I want to make sure that I'm around to be a dad. It's just everything to me, being a dad." "I want to be home, I want to see them every day and I want to be a very large part of their life," he adds of Roemer and their kids. The Gilmore Girls alum says the days of doing shows that require extended time away from his family are in the rearview mirror of his career. "I have pushed myself away from all that," he notes. "I don't want to do that." is a reunion of sorts for Murray and his costar Scott Patterson. While Murray only appeared on the first two seasons of Gilmore Girls as Tristin DuGray, Patterson played Luke Danes throughout the show's entire seven-season run between 2000 and 2007 — including the 2016 limited miniseries revival. On Sullivan's Crossing, Murray plays California "Cal" Jones, the local handyman, while Patterson plays Sully Sullivan, the estranged father of Maggie Sullivan (Morgan Kohan). "It blows my mind," Murray admits of him and Patterson finding themselves on the same show more than two decades later. "I remember when I found out that we were going to do this, I was excited to know that I was going somewhere where at least I knew somebody, which is not always the case," he says. "You end up walking in, and you never know what you're going to get, so that part of getting this job made me feel at ease." Brandon Blackstock's cause of death revealed, confirming details about cancer battle
Talent agent Brandon Blackstock, who was the ex-husband of pop star Kelly Clarkson and the father of their two children, died Thursday after losing his battle with melanoma. Butte-Silver Bow County coroner Dan Hollis confirmed Blackstock's cause of death to The Times on Monday. He also confirmed that Blackstone died at his home in Montana under hospice care and surrounded by his family, as first reported by People. The coroner said Blackstock's manner of death was natural causes. The official cause of death clarifies information shared by Blackstock's family, who announced his death last week in a statement shared with The Times and on social media. Blackstock 'bravely battled cancer for more than three years,' the statement said, not giving specifics. Melanoma is a kind of skin cancer that first affects cells that help produce pigment for skin color, according to the Mayo Clinic. Blackstock's family announced his death shortly after Clarkson postponed four August shows in her Studio Sessions residency in Las Vegas for personal reasons. She wrote in an Instagram post that 'this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.' Clarkson and Blackstock married in 2013 and split in 2020, finalizing their divorce in 2022. They share a daughter and a son. Blackstock also had two children from his first marriage. Since her ex-husband's death, footage of Clarkson wiping away tears during a July 26 show in Las Vegas resurfaced on social media. In the video, the 'American Idol' alumna reflects on the changes she had on her song 'Piece by Piece,' which she first wrote about Blackstock. As she tells her audience about rewriting a more mature version of the number she turns away, seemingly overcome with emotion. 'I'm really trying to pull it together,' Clarkson says, later wiping her eyes as fans cheer. 'Screw it, let's just sing it. This is 'Piece by Piece,'' she says, carrying on. It's unclear when Clarkson will make up the postponed August shows, but she has several performances scheduled for November, according to her website. The 18-show residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace was announced in February and kicked off on the Fourth of July.
