Jennifer's Rolex was missing from her wrist, a court heard
The 69-year-old had last been seen alive on CCTV on June 10 walking her beloved pet Corgi.
She was discovered on the floor of her living room three days later partially covered with a blanket and with black tape on her mouth, the Old Bailey heard.
A post-mortem examination found the cause of death was a sharp trauma to the neck with eight stab wounds identified
Prosecutor Ben Holt said the evidence suggested the tape was "applied after the fatal injuries".
The court was told Jennifer would usually wear a Rolex and a Cartier bracelet but when her body was found, the watch was not there.
The Rolex was found in Pexton's bag when she was arrested on June 18, Mr Holt said.
Pexton spoke only to confirm her identity during the hearing today.
Pexton was remanded into custody to next appear for a plea hearing on September 9.
A provisional trial was set to take place at the Old Bailey from April 7 next year.

Tory councillor's wife Lucy Connolly to be freed TODAY after she was jailed for racist Southport tweet
This comes after she lost an appeal to reduce her sentence in May FINALLY FREE Tory councillor's wife Lucy Connolly to be freed TODAY after she was jailed for racist Southport tweet Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A TORY councillor's wife who was jailed for posting a racist tweet after the Southport attack is set to be released from prison today. Lucy Connolly was sentenced to 31 months in prison in October after being found guilty of inciting racial hatred after she made the post on X just hours following the murders in Southport. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up However, Connolly - wife of Conservative councillor Raymond Connolly - will be released from prison today after serving less than a year of her sentence, the Telegraph reported. Posting on X the day three children were murdered by Axel Rudakubana in Southport, Connolly wrote: "Mass deportation now, set fire to all the f****** hotels full of the ba***rds for all I care... if that makes me racist so be it." She pleaded guilty to inciting racial hatred by publishing and distributing "threatening or abusive" written material on X and was jailed at Birmingham Crown Court in October last year. Critics have slammed her sentence in the past for being too harsh, although Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer earlier this year defended it. When asked in May if Connolly's imprisonment was an "efficient or fair use" of prison, after her Court of Appeal application against her jail term was dismissed, the PM said: "Sentencing is a matter for our courts, and I celebrate the fact that we have independent courts in this country. "I am strongly in favour of free speech, we've had free speech in this country for a very long time and we protect it fiercely. "But I am equally against incitement to violence against other people. I will always support the action taken by our police and courts to keep our streets and people safe." Connolly's post was viewed 310,000 times in three-and-a-half hours before she deleted it. Lord Young of Acton, founder and director of the Free Speech Union, said: "The fact that Lucy Connolly has spent more than a year in prison for a single tweet that she quickly deleted and apologised for is a national scandal, particularly when Labour MPs, councillors and anti-racism campaigners who've said and done much worse have avoided jail. "The same latitude they enjoyed should have been granted to Lucy." More to follow... Family pay heartbreaking tribute to teen killed in crash who ‘brought love to everything he did' as driver, 36, jailed
The teen had a bright future ahead of him and was about to embark on an aerospace engineering program TRAGIC CRASH Family pay heartbreaking tribute to teen killed in crash who 'brought love to everything he did' as driver, 36, jailed Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A GRIEVING family have paid a heartbreaking tribute to their "beautiful" son who tragically lost his life in a fatal car crash. William Ray, 17, died when when woman in an Audi smashed into his Ford Fiesta. Mum-of-two Natasha Allarakhia was driving her two young daughters when she crashed into William's Ford in North Rauceby, Lincolnshire. Allarakhia, 36, from Norwich — was sentenced to ten years in prison earlier this week. The court was told she was sipping alcohol while at the wheel and had been driving at 90mph before the crash. She also lied to the police to try to escape justice for her actions, the court heard. William's heartbroken mum, Sarah Barker, has now paid a touching tribute to her boy, who "brought love to everything he did". She said: 'Will was not just my only son, he was also my best friend, and I love him dearly. "Throughout his life, he brought me joy, love and hope in everything he did. "But not only that, he was a fantastic stepson, grandson and brother." Sarah told how William had a bright future ahead of him - and was about to embark on an aerospace engineering course at university. She added: 'Will's life was only just starting and he was looking forward to beginning the next chapter of it. He was both academic and athletic – not only was he gifted at gymnastics where he trained at Lincoln Gymnastic Club, but also a keen rugby player at Sleaford Rugby Club. "He was due to attend the University of Sheffield to study aerospace engineering, having successfully passed his A-levels, something he never got to see. 'As a mother, I will never get to see Will graduate, get married or make his future life. " William's father Steven has also paid tribute to his son: 'Will had been out celebrating with his friends as they concluded their A-level examinations and were returning home when he was taken from us. "He had been looking forward to a future of university, travel, relationships, all of which I know would have been filled with success. 'Will was the best of us, as a son, brother, grandson, and friend. A sportsman, academic and boyfriend – I genuinely believe that I never heard a bad word said against him. " 'We now all have to learn what a new normal will be for us without Will. He will never be forgotten.' 4 Natasha Allarakhia has been jailed for ten years Lincoln Crown Court heard Allarakhia was disqualified from driving in January this year over failing to provide information about two speeding offences in the weeks before and after the fatal crash. At the time of the tragedy, she was "literally drinking and driving" as she sped around with her two daughters, aged seven and 12, in the back while sipping from a can of lager. She reached speeds of 96mph before crashing into William's stationary car at 70mph. The mum then laughed while taking a roadside breathalyser test and spent more than an hour lying to police. Data taken from the two cars showed Allarakhia did not take her foot off the accelerator until just two seconds before the collision. It also revealed she was just 121ft away from the Fiesta when her brakes were briefly applied. Prosecutor David Eager said William in comparison had shown "exemplary' driving before the crash in June last year. Allarakhia admitted two charges of causing death by dangerous driving and one charge of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. She was also banned from driving for a total of 12 years and 8 months and must take an extended re-test before being allowed to drive again. Allarakhia wept and cried out "I'm so sorry" as William and Eddie's families read heartbreaking victim impact statements.
