Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of options out there that are fantastic — a personal favorite being the cult-loved Skinceuticals formula C E Ferulic, but in this economy? The $182 price tag on it is a bit much for my wallet. I think we can all agree it isn't totally wrong to look for an option that's a bit more affordable.
And coincidentally, the internet's favorite drugstore brand E.l.f. recently launched a similar formula that's only $16 at Target.
I'm usually pretty careful with vitamin C serums because my skin is super sensitive, but since this product is so affordable and I love similar ones that are more expensive, I thought I would give it a go. For starters, I love the lightweight texture of this product. If you have acne-prone skin like I do, you know that's absolutely key. If my skin feels like it's being smothered or clogged — it's an immediate no from me. I also deal with hyperpigmentation and I honestly started to notice dark spots lightened after only five days of using this. I'd say that's pretty impressive for a $16 doppelgänger!
I mostly love this serum for its ability to fade my dark spots so quickly and the extra dose of radiance it adds to my skin, but if your concerns are fine lines or age spots, you can rest easy knowing that this serum is designed to address those skincare challenges too.
