Look: 'Love is Blind: UK's Bobby, Jasmine Johnson expecting child
June 10 (UPI) -- Love is Blind: UK Season 1 stars Bobby and Jasmine Johnson announced Monday that they are expecting their first child together.
The couple shared the news on Instagram with a rap song and video.
"We sit and talk on rainy days, just debating baby names, but our minds keep changing day to day -- they never stay the same," Bobby rapped. "I'm looking at your baby bump... I guess we'll have to wait until the day you come, to know if you're our daughter or our baby son. I'll be happy either way. Tears of joy I wipe away. Ever since I found out I can't sleep and I've been wide awake."
"I hope I'll be a better dad, and give you what we never had," he continued. "Turn the pain to purpose -- you don't have to hurt the way we have."
Jasmine Johnson captioned the video with a message seemingly written directly to the baby on the way.
"I've pictured your tiny face a thousand times. I've dreamt of this moment long before I knew how good life could get. Then I met your dad and the rest was written in love."
Season 1 of Love is Blind: UK aired in August. The show follows singles as they get to know potential matches without seeing one another right away.
Netflix announced a summer release for Season 2 last week and confirmed the series has been renewed for Season 3.

Live music is one of my greatest passions in life. Even as I write this article, I'm furiously refreshing my phone trying to score tickets for an upcoming concert, and my weekend plans? Seeing Sam Fender's huge homecoming show at my favorite soccer team's stadium. Yet after streaming Netflix's new documentary that chronicles the tragic events that unfolded at 2021's Astroworld festival during rapper Travis Scott's headline set, I suddenly feel a little hesitant to wade deep into a crowd of thousands of people again. It's a deeply chilling watch. The doc is called 'Trainwreck: The Astroworld Tragedy,' and it explores the crowd crush that occurred during the Houston-based event attended by over 100,000 people. It resulted in the tragic deaths of 10 people, with 25 more hospitalized and injury numbers in the hundreds. It's certainly not the most entertaining watch, even if the presentation is as slick as you'd expect from a Netflix original, but it's a feature-length doc that has impacted me, and if you're also a dedicated gig-goer, then I think you need to stream this right now. Like many documentaries of this ilk, 'Trainwreck: The Astroworld Tragedy' begins with the 'happy period' as we see numerous Travis Scott fans give talking-head interviews expressing their excitement and anticipation for the upcoming concert at NRG Park in Houston, Texas. Anybody who knows what went down at Astroworld in 2021 will know what's coming next: a deadly crowd crush would lead to multiple fatalities, and I appreciate that the documentary filmmakers (who also made Netflix's excellent "Trainwreck: Woodstock '99") don't attempt to overdramatise the events. The tone is respectful throughout. I can't claim that 'Trainwreck' offers much in the way of entertainment, but it spotlights a tragedy that deserves to be remembered, and that the live music industry must learn from. The transition from people having fun at a gig to fighting for their lives is shockingly sudden, which likely mirrors the experience of attendees. The audio recordings of desperate 911 calls during the event are particularly stomach-turning and will deeply unnerve you. So while I can't claim that 'Trainwreck' offers much in the way of entertainment, it does spotlight a tragedy that deserves to be remembered, and that the live music industry must learn from. Because what happened at Astroworld can never be allowed to repeat itself. If you're a live music fan or just want to understand how the events of Astroworld unfolded, then I strongly recommend 'Trainwreck.' It's also a pretty trim watch, at around 80 minutes long, which is another strength; the doc presents the situation without unneeded bloat. In recent years, whenever I've attended a live music event (which, as noted, is extremely often), I typically find myself reflecting on Astroworld at some point, and this documentary gave me further insight into a tragedy that really did hit home with me in several ways. 'Trainwreck: The Astroworld Tragedy' is a well-produced and very harrowing documentary, showcasing how what should have been a memorable evening for all in attendance descended into a situation where 10 people never got to return home. It's also the next chapter in what Netflix is calling the "Trainwreck anthology." The first part was the Woodstock '99 limited series, released in 2022, and there are six more documentaries on the way that will "examine some of the most disastrous events ever to blow up in mainstream media." Netflix just added an 'underrated' crime thriller show that's already crashed the top 10 — and there are 6 seasons to binge-watch now
Thriller fans are being well-served by Netflix this month. Along with NBC's "Blindspot," the streaming service recently welcomed family crime thriller "Animal Kingdom" to the platform — and it looks to be a hit with streamers. For the uninitiated, "Animal Kingdom" is a gritty drama that originally ran for six seasons between 2016 and 2022, airing on TNT in the U.S. It's based on the 2010 Australian movie of the same name, and throws us in with a chaotic, dysfunctional family who operate a criminal enterprise out of Southern California. "Animal Kingdom" was one of the many new things added to Netflix at the start of the month, and it's been a mainstay in the Netflix Top 10 ever since. Over a week after it arrived, it's still sitting at the #7 spot, not far behind Netflix Originals like "The Survivors," "Ginny & Georgia" and "Sirens." TNT's "Animal Kingdom" is a crime drama based on the 2010 Australian movie of the same name. The show revolves around the Cody family. We follow young Joshua "J" Cody ("Peaky Blinders" star Finn Cole), who moves in with his estranged relatives after his mother dies of an overdose The Codys, as it turns out, run a criminal enterprise out of Oceanside, California, with J's tough grandmother Janine "Smurf" Cody (Ellen Barkin) at the helm. The dysfunctional Cody dynasty funds its lifestyle through (among other things) heists, and J's quickly sucked into this dangerous criminal world of shifting loyalties and secrets. While the series doesn't have a complete critics' rating on the review aggregate site, Rotten Tomatoes, the first two seasons hold ratings of 76% and 80%, respectively, with the site's consensus on the first season reading: "Bolstered by Ellen Barkin's acting prowess, 'Animal Kingdom' is a darkly intriguing, although occasionally predictable, twisted family drama." Fellow viewers, however, rate it significantly higher; the show has an average Popcornmeter rating of 87% and has drawn some very high praise for the acting, the (occasionally predictable) twists and more. Comparisons to "Sons of Anarchy" seem common, too. The show's subreddit is being taken over by newcomers who've stumbled onto "Animal Kingdom" now that it's on Netflix, talking it up, while original fans have been discussing rewatching the show from the start, or hoping that the drama finally gets the reception they believe it's always deserved. Looking through reactions in both places, I've seen the word "underrated" thrown around plenty of times, so I'm not too surprised to see "Animal Kingdom" has continued to be a top Netflix watch in the days since its arrival on the platform. I only just started streaming the show myself (it passed me by the first time around), so I wouldn't want to give my own "Animal Kingdom" verdict just yet. However, from the position of being an "Animal Kingdom" newcomer, I can say that I'm intrigued by what I've seen so far, and I'm keen to see what trouble lies ahead for J, Smurf and the rest of the Cody family across these six seasons. If you're between Netflix binges and you're looking to sink your teeth into a gritty family thriller, one that boasts a cast of very questionable characters, then it certainly feels like "Animal Kingdom" will fit the bill just fine.
