NFL fans fume over controversial Fox broadcast decision that is 'incredibly bad'

Fox Sports appears to be sticking with the scorebug it debuted during last season's Super Bowl - despite the fact fans think it's 'incredibly bad'. The broadcast network used the design once again during Sunday evening's preseason game between the Chicago Bears and Buffalo Bills at Soldier Field. It marking the new scorebug's first appearance since the Philadelphia Eagles ' Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs in February. At the time, the scorebug was not well received by fans and it seems that nothing has changed as it returned to screens on Sunday night. While the general format of the scorebug remained the same, Fox did make one notable change, replacing the team initials with logos. The updated version also included live player statistics in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Fans were quick to voice their disapproval over the scorebug shortly after the game started The addition of real-time stats was seen as a useful tweak and some viewers considered the logo substitution an improvement - however not all were convinced. Taking to X, one wrote: 'Horrible score bug on this bill/bears game rn'. Another said: 'Forgot this putrid scorebug is permanent'. In a similar tone, one user said: 'I regret to inform you that the horrible Fox score bug from the last Super Bowl has returned'. Another wrote: 'This Fox score bug is one of the worst ideas anyone has had. It's incredibly bad'. 'Forgot about this score bug. It genuinely makes me unhappy and angry. Back to the drawing board @FoxSports', one said. It remains to be seen whether Fox will make further adjustments before the regular season begins or if this iteration is now the network's standard moving forward.

TV reporter makes humiliating Micah Parsons error while on air during Denver Broncos game

The Denver Broncos broadcast team were fooled by a fake news report about Micah Parsons, which they showed during their game against the Cardinals on Saturday. Parsons, the All-Pro linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys, has been the subject of intense offseason speculation following his trade request. The situation has opened the door to a wave of unverified reports and fake quotes about his future and potential destinations, with many emerging online. During the third quarter of the Broncos' 27–7 win over the Cardinals in Denver, the broadcast discussed Parsons' possible landing spots and included a graphic citing a quote that Parsons never made. The graphic appeared to be based on a viral post on X, which falsely quoted Parsons as saying Denver was his ideal trade destination. The fake quote read: 'My dream destination? Denver. I would love to play for the Broncos. They already got the best defense in the league and they have a real chance at a Super Bowl.' Insane: The Broncos' broadcasting team got FOOLED by a FAKE Micah Parsons quote that went viral on X/Twitter where he stated he wants to be traded to the Broncos. Someone is getting fired 💀😭 — Dov Kleiman (@NFL_DovKleiman) August 17, 2025 The Broncos' production team aired the claim without verifying its legitimacy, with the analyst team having a brief discussion of it, before it went viral shortly after. One fan post read: 'Insane: The Broncos' broadcasting team got FOOLED by a FAKE Micah Parsons quote that went viral on X/Twitter where he stated he wants to be traded to the Broncos. Someone is getting fired'. The game itself saw the Broncos dominate offensively, recording 562 total yards in a comfortable win. But that performance was overshadowed in part by the error during the broadcast. Parsons, meanwhile, requested a trade amid a tense contract standoff, releasing an explosive statement that put Jerry Jones and the Cowboys in the firing line. Jones, however, has downplayed Parsons' trade request and urged fans not to 'lose any sleep' over the situation. When asked whether he was considering Parsons' trade request, the Dallas owner said: 'I'm not. The facts are that I think the world of Micah, and that's just a part of negotiation. 'I don't place that with any real seriousness, Micah's got a bad back. That's like being traded, we all weight it the same.' Parsons and Jones haven't always seen eye-to-eye and, back in April, the Dallas star sparked a war of words with Jones over comments about the pass rusher's agent.

Reports: Saints trade DT Khalen Saunders to Jags for OL Luke Fortner

August 18 - The Jacksonville Jaguars are acquiring veteran defensive tackle Khalen Saunders in a trade that sends offensive lineman Luke Fortner to the New Orleans Saints, according to multiple reports on Sunday night. The teams played to a 17-17 tie in a preseason game Sunday in New Orleans, with reports of the trade coming later. Saunders, who turned 29 on Aug. 9, started 27 of the 30 games he played for the Saints the past two seasons, including 10 starts in 13 games last season when he had 43 tackles, two sacks and five quarterback hits. His only career interception came in 2024 in a loss to former teammate Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs. In his six-year career, Saunders has logged 181 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 17 QB hits and one interception in 68 regular-season games (32 starts) for the Chiefs (2019-22) and Saints. He was on two Super Bowl championship teams in 2019 and 2022 with Kansas City, which selected him in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Western Illinois. Fortner, 27, was a third-round pick of the Jaguars in 2022 out of Kentucky. He has played in 51 regular-season games, starting his first 34 but serving as a reserve in 17 games in 2024. He was the team's starting center in 2022, when he also started both playoff games. --Field Level Media
