Makers of new F1 film say they could not have done it without Lewis Hamilton

Seven-time world champion Hamilton is an executive producer on the Brad Pitt movie, titled 'F1', which is released in the United Kingdom on June 25.
Hamilton has been heavily involved in the script – which sees 61-year-old Pitt play the role of veteran driver Sonny Hayes returning to the F1 grid after a long absence – to ensure the film is as authentic as possible.
Joseph Kosinski, the man behind Top Gun: Maverick and director of the F1 movie, said at this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix: 'Lewis was the first person I reached out to when I had the initial idea for this.
'I sent him an email and just said, 'I want to tell a story in your world. I want to make it as authentic as possible. Will you help me?' And luckily Lewis said 'Yes'.
'He was involved in all the technical details with fascinating advice. In Hungary, for instance, he said, 'If Brad's going to let someone pass during a blue flag and he wants it to be as tight as possible, he's going to only do that at turn six'.

'That kind of detail from a seven-time world champion who lives and breathes this world every day, I couldn't have got that from anywhere else.
'But Lewis also contributed to the story. There is a part in the film where Sonny Hayes talks about why he races and almost the spiritual side of it. And that also was inspired by a conversation with Lewis. So his involvement has been amazing. And we couldn't make the film without him.'
Pitt's fictional rookie team-mate Joshua Pearce is played by British actor Damson Idris. Filming has taken place across multiple races over the last two seasons, and F1 chiefs hope the movie will follow the popularity of Netflix's Drive To Survive series in cracking America.

Brad Pitt, 61, wears ANOTHER wild outfit for date night with girlfriend Ines de Ramon, 32, in NYC

Brad Pitt showed off yet another wild look as he stepped out with girlfriend Ines de Ramon for a romantic date night in NYC on Saturday. The Oscar winner, 61 - who sported a bizarre ensemble earlier in the day alongside Jimmy Fallon - sweetly held hands with the jewelry executive, 32, as the couple grabbed dinner together. It comes shortly after the star first unveiled his midlife-crisis makeover while out with Ramon - where he channeled his Fight Club character Tyler Durden's sleazy style. Pitt opted for head-turning look on his latest excursion and wore a vibrant, blue velvet blazer as well as a pair of loose-fitting denim jeans. He additionally donned a partially buttoned, striped shirt underneath as well as a pair of black shoes. Ines put on a fashionable display in a sleeveless, white top with feathered details on the hem as well as a pair of matching trousers. Her dark locks were parted in the middle and effortlessly flowed down past her shoulders in light waves. The beauty accessorized the ensemble for the evening with a dazzling necklace as well as mini earrings that offered a flashy flare. Brad and Ines - who first sparked up a romance back in 2022 - held smiles on their faces as they headed towards a bustling restaurant in the Big Apple. Pitt has been keeping busy as he prepares for the release of his upcoming sports drama film F1 which will hit theaters later this month on June 27. While also enjoying a date with Ines this week, the actor showcased the latest evolution in his midlife-crisis makeover. As he rocked a buzzcut, Brad also wore a silky lavender shirt which was loosened at the top as well as black velvet pants.

Southside Boxing Academy starlet enjoys 'Cinderella story' after becoming British champion

Fifteen-year-old Ava Allison is celebrating after coming back from injury to be crowned champion A Toryglen boxing coach says it's a real 'Cinderella story' as his daughter went from a career-threatening injury to becoming British champion in a year. Ava Allison, 15, tore her meniscus, and suffered cruciate and collateral ligament damage in a training accident. ‌ But at the end of May, Ava won the junior 60kg category at the GB Tri Nations Championships at the Sophia Gardens Stadium in Cardiff. ‌ That was Ava's first gold British medal, though she is three-time Scottish and Western District champion. Dad and coach Bryan at Southside Boxing Academy said: 'A year ago, Ava couldn't walk, was 82kg and didn't know when she was going to be able to walk again without pain, because she did everything possible to do to your knee. 'With that injury, if that happens to you or I, it usually means your career is done, you don't recover from that, but Ava had age on her side. It would have been easier to quit. 'A year later, she's lost 22kg and became British boxing champion. 'It was a freak injury, but that ruled her out for about two years. Rehab started a year ago on June 5, and this is where she is now, she has turned it around completely. 'In the boxing world, all your top-level boxers' parents are rich, own their gyms and all that, but Ava is from the council estate, a real Cinderella story. ‌ 'For every wee boy or girl who is told 'you can't do that' or 'you're not good enough', this proves that if she can do it, they can do it.' The King's Park Secondary School pupil has been working hard, and Bryan said: 'Ava beat the Welsh champion in her own back yard, unanimously, then beat an unbeaten English champion, who had stopped her six previous opponents. 'She's been doing it since she was seven years old. She's really dedicated, training six times a week, and what it makes it more remarkable is that Ava has done her National 5 exams and done seven of them.' Bryan hopes for further success in the near future, and said: 'We'll be travelling to the Hull Box Club at the end of the month and in her group is the Czechia champion. 'The European Championships is next month in Serbia, from July 15 to 25, and I would like to think she would get selected, but they forgot about Ava. ‌ 'Because of her injury she hadn't boxed for Scotland in nearly two years, and she went down there and absolutely knocked it out the park.' Big things are afoot for the club, too, with a move to a larger site. Bryan said: 'We're moving to the Geoff Shaw centre, which is a bigger premise. We're effectively training out of a big room, and we've produced a British champion every year for the last five years – imagine what we could achieve with an actual facility!' Southside Boxing Academy's Zain Iqbal won silver, losing out in his final to Welsh champion Shane McIntyre.

The film that shot Cillian Murphy to fame is airing on TV tonight

The film that Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy credits as his breakthrough role is airing on TV tonight - as the much anticipated sequel is set to be released in cinema soon Peaky Blinders fans can prepare to watch fan favourite Cillian Murphy onscreen tonight - although they may not hear his Brummy accent. The star was already an established actor before the hit show, however, the drama significantly boosted his profile when it first aired in 2013. Now, fans will be able to see the star 11 years prior to the show, as movie 28 Days Later airs on BBC One tonight. Fans will be able to catch the Horror/Sci-fi movie on the box at 10.30pm tonight (Sunday June 15) just after the news - with it wrapping up at 0.15am. ‌ The movie is set 28 days after a killer virus is accidentally unleashed from a British research facility. It follows a small group of London survivors, who are caught in a desperate struggle to protect themselves from the infected. ‌ Cillian Murphy stars in the lead role as Jim, a survivor of the Rage Virus. He starts off as a bicycle courier in the movie, with a nasty fall landing him in hospital. However, people with the Rage Virus overan London, and as hospital staff fled to escape, Jim was locked into a secure room. He later woke from his coma 28 days later in an abandoned hospital. Also starring alongside Cillian in the film is Naomie Harris, Christopher Eccleston and Alex Palmer. The film airing on BBC One comes shortly before the release of the second film in the series, 28 Years Later. Set almost three decades after the first movie offering, released in 2002, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. Fans were curious as to whether they'd see Cillian in the role - although, it's bad news as character Jim won't be making an appearance in the movie. However, fans can look forward to a potential return for the star in the third instalment, due to be released in 2026. ‌ Earlier this year, producer Andrew Macdonald, confirmed to EW would not return to the movie in an onscreen capacity. It doesn't mean a no forever, though - as director Danny Boyle hinted at a return during the ending of its 2026 sequel, The Bone Temple. 'He is in the second one,' Danny Boyle told IGN. 'I shouldn't give away too much. I'll get killed.' 'All I can say is you have to wait for Cillian, but hopefully he will help us get the third film financed,' he later told Business Insider. Cillian has spoken highly about his role on the movie crediting it for being his "breakthrough role". At the time, he was just 26 years old.
