PM Modi hands out 51,000 appointment letters in 16th Rozgar Mela, says youth driving nation-building
The employment drive was conducted simultaneously at 47 locations across the country.
According to an official statement, the new recruits, selected from across India, will be joining key departments including the Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Department of Posts, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Department of Financial Services, and the Ministry of Labour and Employment, among others.
Addressing the new appointees, PM Modi said, "Our campaign to hand out appointment letters to youth in the Central Government is underway. Today, over 51,000 youth have been given appointment letters. Through such employment initiatives, till now, lakhs of youth have secured permanent jobs in the Indian government. These individuals are now contributing significantly to nation-building."
He highlighted the wide spectrum of departments where the recruits will be deployed, highlighting their contribution to diverse national missions.
"Many of you have started your careers in Indian Railways, and many will be a part of India's security. People appointed in the postal department will take the government's initiatives to every village. Many will be a part of the 'Health for All' mission, some will enhance the engine of financial inclusion, and others will further strengthen the industrial development of the country. Your department might be different, but the focus is one -- service to the nation and 'Citizen First'," he said.
The Prime Minister congratulated the appointees and wished them well as they begin their new professional journey.
Stressing India's "unlimited power -- demography and democracy," PM Modi said, "India has the largest youth population and the largest democracy. This is India's most cherished wealth and guarantee. Our government is working day and night to make this wealth a source of progress."
Referring to his recent international engagements, PM Modi said, "Two days ago, I returned from a five-nation tour. In every country, India's youth power was acknowledged. The agreements made during this tour will all benefit Indian youth."
Launched on October 22, 2022, the Rozgar Mela is part of the Prime Minister's mission to prioritise employment generation. It is aimed at expediting recruitment across government departments and organisations and ensuring that vacant posts do not slow down public service delivery.
Official data reveals that more than 10 lakh appointment letters have been issued across the country through Rozgar Melas since its inception.
The initiative has played a key role in streamlining recruitment, improving efficiency in public services, and strengthening critical infrastructure in schools, hospitals, railway stations, police units, and tax offices.
The appointees under the Rozgar Mela will serve in a variety of sectors, reinforcing the government's workforce and contributing towards national development goals.
By accelerating the selection process, the initiative is ensuring that employment generation remains at the core of India's governance agenda.

As Nimisha Priya's fate hangs in balance, wheels in motion ‘at various levels' to secure a lifeline
Discussions are underway at various levels in Yemen to save the life of Indian nurse Nimisha Priya, who is facing execution on July 16 in connection with the 2017 murder of Yemeni citizen Talal Abdo Mehdi, sources familiar with the developments have told The Indian Express. 'Discussions to save her life are at a crucial stage. We are hopeful about a positive outcome. Community leaders, two Yemeni citizens associated with the Indian mission, and a negotiator, Samuel Jerome Bhaskaran, are involved in the discussions,' said a source. Nimisha Priya's mother, Prema Kumari, who has been camping in Yemen since last year, told The Indian Express, 'I met my daughter in jail last month. She is suffering in silence.' Back in Kerala, prominent Muslim leader and general secretary of the All India Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama, Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musliyar, has also made interventions to try and secure Nimisha's release. Musaliyar has urged a prominent Sufi scholar in Yemen to hold discussions with Talal's family and local leadership to see that the family pardons the woman. Nimisha, who hailed from Palakkad, had worked as a nurse in Yemen for several years until she was accused of murder in 2017. With Talal's support, Nimish ran a clinic in Yemen, but she allegedly faced mental, physical and financial abuse, which culminated in the killing. The death sentence was awarded to her by a trial court in Yemen and upheld by the country's Supreme Court. Last year, Yemen's President Rashad al-Alimi approved the death sentence for the 38-year-old woman. The order has been with the prosecutor since January this year. Since then, her fate has been hanging by a thread, depending on a pardon from Talal's family. On Monday, the Centre informed the Supreme Court that it had done all it could to save Nimisha. 'There's nothing much the government can do… looking at the sensitivity of Yemen… it's not diplomatically recognised… There's a point till which the government of India can go. We have reached that. Yemen is not like any other part of the world. We didn't want to complicate the situation by going public, we are trying at a private level,' Attorney-General R Venkataramani, appearing for the Centre, said.

Dubai [UAE], July 14 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on the second day of his visit to Dubai, held one-to-one interaction with investors and discussed the immense potential of investment opportunities in various sectors in the state. Yadav's official visit to Dubai in the UAE and to Spain is scheduled from July 13 to July 19. The aim of his visit is to bring global investment to Madhya Pradesh, encourage technology sharing, and create new job opportunities under the umbrella of 'Global Dialogue 2025'. Speaking to ANI, CM Mohan Yadav said, 'Since this morning, we have been meeting with different people. First, we met the people from the embassy and had a discussion with them about how the Indian govt and the MP govt can do business with foreign nations in a simpler manner and what are the possible areas. We have mining and have various types of industry set ups. There is a huge potential for a food park, we have discussed it too. We allocated time for every business-related task; we also had several one-on-one discussions and interacted with many good investors.' He further emphasised the air services potential in Madhya Pradesh, highlighting to increase the flights for state government's initiative of Air Ambulance facility. 'We are also doing work on aviation in our state, and they (investors) are ready to support it with the guidance of the Indian government. Earlier in 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended Bastille Day Parade as Guest of Honour at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron on the Champs-Elysees. India and France have traditionally enjoyed close and friendly relations and share deep and enduring Strategic Partnership (SP) covering all aspects of bilateral cooperation which involves a strategic component. Defence and security, civil nuclear matters and space constitute the principal pillars of this strategic cooperation and now includes a strong Indo-Pacific component, according to Indian Embassy in France statement.
