Shrinking Season 3: Release date rumors, cast updates and what to expect next
When Can We Expect Shrinking Season 3?
Apple TV+ hasn't dropped an official premiere date yet, but we've got some tea to spill. The show got the green light for Season 3 on October 17, 2024, hot on the heels of Season 2's debut. Filming started in mid-February 2025 in Pasadena and Altadena, California, despite some wildfire drama in the area. Looking back, Season 2 wrapped filming in June 2024 and hit screens in October 2024, so the production crew moves pretty fast—usually six to eight months from cameras rolling to premiere.
My guess? Shrinking Season 3 will likely drop in late 2025 or early 2026, maybe around October 2025 to January 2026. The team's sticking to their schedule despite the challenges, which is awesome since they're supporting local communities hit by fires. Keep an eye on Apple TV+ for a trailer or official word on the release. What month are you betting on for the premiere? Drop your thoughts below!
Who's Coming Back and Who's New in the Cast?
The Shrinking cast is like a warm hug, and Season 3 is bringing back the gang with some shiny new additions. Here's who's hitting the screen:
Jason Segel as Jimmy Laird
Harrison Ford as Dr. Paul Rhoades
Jessica Williams as Gaby Evans
Lukita Maxwell as Alice Laird
Michael Urie as Brian
Luke Tennie as Sean
Christa Miller as Liz
Ted McGinley as Derek
Brett Goldstein as Louis
Cobie Smulders as Sofi
Damon Wayans Jr. as Derrick #2
Fresh Faces
Season 3 is upping the star power with some exciting newbies:
Jeff Daniels
Michael J. Fox
Candice Bergen
Isabella Gomez
What's the Story for Season 3?
The Shrinking creators have said they envisioned a three-season arc: Season 1 was about grief, Season 2 tackled forgiveness, and Season 3 is all about moving forward. Here's what we're expecting based on where Season 2 left off and the latest buzz:
Jimmy's Next Steps
Jimmy's still grappling with his wife's death, and Season 3 will dive into his relationship with his dad (Jeff Daniels). This could shed light on why he looks to Paul as a father figure. His uneasy connection with Louis, who's tied to the accident that changed Jimmy's life, will push him to find closure. And let's not forget Sofi (Cobie Smulders)—will Jimmy let himself fall for her, or is his heart still too heavy? I'm rooting for him to find some peace.
Paul's Journey
Harrison Ford's Paul is a fan favorite, and his Parkinson's storyline will take center stage. Michael J. Fox's role will likely bring a real, raw perspective to Paul's challenges, and I'm already bracing for some emotional scenes. Paul's bond with the group will keep him grounded as he faces what's next.

Where was Unforgivable filmed? All the locations for the BBC drama revealed
Unforgivable is the BBC's newest standalone drama - a powerful, emotionally charged 105-minute film that explores the devastating ripple effects of child abuse within a family. Set against a quietly haunting backdrop, it looks at the aftermath of the crime and the strained family ties. The story centres on Joe (Bobby Schofield), who has just been released from prison after serving time for the abuse of his young nephew. As he attempts to reintegrate into society, his sister Anna (Anna Friel) - the mother of the victim - is left grappling with the difficult task of holding her fractured family together. The show is set and filmed in Liverpool. As the one-off episode airs, read on for all the filming locations - from the family home scenes to outdoor moments. Unforgivable is set and filmed in Liverpool, the hometown of the show writer Jimmy McGovern. "The crucial thing for me is that Liverpool's a port city, and that's the ingredient of scouserism in a way, the curiosity about the traveller that comes from being born and brought up in a big international port," McGovern said about the choice of location. "Where are you coming from? Where are you going to? There are writers from all over the world, I know, but there are many from Liverpool, and I think that curiosity about people lends itself to becoming a dramatist." Scenes set at the Mitchells' family home were filmed on Hanford Avenue, located in the Orrell Park area of Liverpool. Meanwhile, Otterspool Promenade in Aigburth and Grassendale was used for quiet scenes, where characters talked or reflected in open, outdoor spaces. Talking about filming in the city of Liverpool, Friel said: "A Liverpool accent - I hope I did all right with that. Everyone else who was playing Scouse was Scouse, so I was like, I don't want to let the side down! "I absolutely love Liverpool. I'm a huge fan of Liverpool and Liverpudlians. Jimmy and Colin (Executive Producer) took me to a football match which was incredible. You just bathe yourself in the world and the culture of Liverpool." The actress enjoyed it so much, she's considering filming there again in the future, saying: "I have such fond memories and I'd love to work in Liverpool again. I adore it. Every time I reunite with Jimmy, I reunite with Liverpool and it's an honour." Unforgivable airs on BBC Two on Thursday 24th July at 9pm.

LeBron James seen partying with A-listers amid Lakers trade rumors
LeBron James is living it up in Cannes amid speculation about his Lakers future. The NBA's all-time leading scorer was spotted partying in the South of France this week with his wife, Savannah James, and his business partner, Maverick Carter. A video of the couple dancing and singing along to Kendrick Lamar's Drake diss track, 'Not Like Us,' while wining and dining at an oceanfront restaurant made the rounds online Tuesday. At one point, Savannah was seen sipping a glass of white wine and dancing with her portable fan in the other hand. The video also included Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who was seen filming his wife, Lauren Sanchez, dancing to the song at a table nearby. The couple tied the knot in a star-studded affair last month in Venice. James clearly took advice from his agent, Rich Paul, who said he told the four-time NBA champ to 'enjoy his summer' amid constant attention about his playing future. James, who will turn 41 in December, is rumored to want out of the Lakers after Paul released a statement regarding the 21-time All-Star accepting his $52.6 million player option. 'LeBron wants to compete for a championship,' Paul told ESPN last month. 'He knows the Lakers are building for the future. He understands that, but he values a realistic chance of winning it all. We are very appreciative of the partnership that we've had for eight years with Jeanie [Buss] and Rob [Pelinka] and consider the Lakers as a critical part of his career. 'We understand the difficulty in winning now while preparing for the future. We do want to evaluate what's best for LeBron at this stage in his life and career. He wants to make every season he has left count, and the Lakers understand that, are supportive and want what's best for him.' James, who is entering his 23rd season, has a no-trade clause in his contract. Despite speculation that James might reunite with Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis in Dallas, NBA insider Rachel Nichols reported last week that the 'Mavericks do not want LeBron James' and 'have messaged that out through multiple reporters.' Nichols added that she 'thinks that door is closed.'
