Tere Mere Sapne: Amid Murders By Spouses, NCW Starts Pre-Marital Counselling In 10 States

The NCW launched "Tere Mere Sapne", a pre-marital counselling programme in 24 cities across 10 states, starting in Indore, to bridge emotional gaps and prevent marital crimes
In a first-of-its-kind move, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has launched an ambitious initiative titled 'Tere Mere Sapne", a pre-marital dialogue and counselling programme aimed at bridging the growing emotional and psychological gaps between newlyweds. Set to be rolled out in 24 major cities across 10 states, the initiative will begin from Indore, where the shocking murder case of Indore-based businessman Raja Raghuvanshi recently made headlines.
The idea is both urgent and unprecedented: to ensure that couples speak, understand, and truly get to know each other before tying the knot. The dialogue centres, as envisioned by the NCW, will offer psychological counselling, social support, and emotional readiness sessions for individuals planning to marry. The mantra driving the initiative is clear – 'First dialogue, then marriage".
At the heart of this intervention lies the alarming increase in marital crimes, particularly those where a spouse is murdered within days or weeks of marriage, and often, by the other partner. The NCW believes that many such tragedies could be prevented if young couples were given time, tools, and space to understand each other before making a lifelong commitment.
The programme isn't just a reaction to statistics, it's a response to horrifying headlines.
Just weeks ago, the country was left stunned by the gruesome murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, allegedly killed by his wife Sonam only 12 days after their wedding. Police investigations revealed a larger conspiracy involving others as well, making the case all the more chilling.
Prior to the Raghuvanshi case came another gruesome story from Meerut, where a woman named Muskan reportedly murdered her husband and buried his body inside a blue-coloured plastic drum. These are not isolated incidents. Across India, reports are piling up of young men being killed shortly after marriage, and disturbingly often, it is the wives who are found complicit.
Experts attribute this unsettling trend to the collapse of trust in relationships, lack of communication, and emotional incompatibility, issues that 'Tere Mere Sapne" directly aims to address.
By opening these dialogue centres, the Women's Commission hopes to create a space for couples to ask difficult questions, confront uncertainties, and truly reflect before walking into marriage. It's not a deterrent to marriage, it's a shield against tragedy.
With Indore set to lead the way, the NCW's initiative is already being seen as a significant, proactive step in reshaping how the society approaches marriage.

Chilling details of Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar's death emerge: Insects in hair, ‘black-coloured mass'

The post-mortem examination of Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar Ali's body painted a grim picture, with forensic experts confirming that her body was in an "advanced stage of decomposition. Humaira's body was found nearly a year after her death, lying unnoticed in her upscale Karachi apartment. According to Geo News, the initial post-mortem findings suggested that she had died eight to 10 months ago. Her decomposed body was found by a police team while executing a court order to vacate the flat. The report revealed that her key organs were reduced to an unidentifiable mass, and her facial features were completely unrecognisable, Pakistan-based GeoTV reported. Parts of the body were "entirely devoid of muscle" tissue, and the bones began to "disintegrate upon touch," the report cited. It reported that her fingers and nails were "reduced to bone". Moreover, it was found that the brain matter had completely decomposed via autolysis, and internal organs had turned into a "black-coloured mass". The cartilage in joints was absent; however, it said no fractures were detected in bones. Investigators also found insects in the remains, though no maggots were found. Brown-coloured insects, especially in the hair, were claimed to be present. Experts were quoted as saying that these details may help determine the environmental conditions in which she lay undisturbed. According to the post-mortem findings, Humaira's head and spine remained intact, but there was no spinal cord as the body was highly decomposed. The initial post-morten report stated that extent of the decomposition has made it impossible to determine the exact cause of death at this stage. However, DNA profiling and toxicology tests are under way and are expected to provide further insight. Hair strands, clothes and blood samples had been sent for chemical analysis, GeoTV reported. Humaira's body was found earlier this week when law enforcement personnel visited her apartment around 3:15pm to enforce a court-ordered eviction. After receiving no response, the police forced open the door and discovered her body lying on the floor. She had reportedly been living alone in the flat for the past seven years.

Another allegation of financial misconduct against HDFC bank CEO

NAGPUR: Already mired in a case of financial fraud involving the Lilavati Kirtilal Mehta Medical Trust, which runs the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, HDFC Bank's managing director and CEO Sashidhar Jagdishan is now facing an allegation of financial misconduct and misappropriation of funds, along with other senior officers of the bank, from a trader based in Nagpur. Another allegation of financial misconduct against HDFC bank CEO The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Nagpur police have initiated an investigation against the senior officers of the bank, including Jagdishan, for siphoning off approximately ₹6 crore from the account of Narendra Singru, a Nagpur-based trader. According to a complaint filed by Singru's lawyer, Ashutosh Ranjan, the Dhantoli branch of HDFC Bank had taken a bond of ₹6 crore from Singru nearly three years ago and invested it in overseas agencies, including entities based in Bahrain. The complaint alleges that the bank failed to disclose the risks associated with the investment and eventually reduced the account balance to zero, without informing the account holder. Ranjan claimed that the entire process was executed with the intent to steal the invested amount. 'It is a clear-cut case of financial fraud. The bank never warned my client of the associated risks, and the funds were deliberately drained,' he said, demanding strict action against the responsible officials. Others named in the complaint include, Komal Gupta (regional head), Ashish Nichani (associate director), and Yash Gajaria (relationship manager) of HDFC Bank. Deputy commissioner of police (EOW), Nagpur city, Mahak Swami confirmed that the complaint was received by the department. 'We have just received the complaint. FIR against 10 in Lucknow realtor suicide case

Two days after a 36-year-old Lucknow-based real estate businessman died by suicide after going live on Facebook, Gudamba police registered an FIR on Friday against 10 individuals for alleged abetment, mental harassment, and extortion, naming them based on the realtor's pre-recorded statement in a video. A police official confirmed that the video is part of the evidence and said statements will be recorded soon. (REPRESENTATIVE IMAGE) Following a complaint filed by the deceased's elder brother, Gudamba police registered an FIR late Thursday under Sections 108 (abetment of suicide), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), and 352 (assault) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. The 10 people named in the FIR include local businessmen, acquaintances, and associates. According to the complaint, they had been pressuring the businessman for money, visiting his house repeatedly, hurling abuses, and issuing threats, ultimately pushing him to the edge. A police official confirmed that the video is part of the evidence and said statements will be recorded soon. 'The case has been registered and the matter is under active investigation,' said Gudamba station house officer Prabhatesh Kumar Shrivastav. The realtor, who operated from a small rented office near Tedhipulia crossing, shot himself in the head using a guard's licensed firearm on Wednesday afternoon. Just 15 minutes prior, he went live on social media, detailing the financial and emotional turmoil that led him to take the extreme step. In the over 12-minute long video, which has since gone viral, the businessman claimed he had ₹15 crore debts and had been under intense pressure for the last two-and-a-half years. He made a desperate appeal to politicians and Bollywood A-lister stars to come forward and help his family with ₹20-25 crore to ensure they are not harassed after his death. He even confessed that he sometimes doesn't have money to buy insulin for his diabetic minor daughter. 'My days are so bad that sometimes I don't even have money to buy insulin for my diabetic daughter,' he said in the emotional video, which included multiple references to people he claimed had been threatening him and demanding repayments. The deceased is survived by his wife, three daughters, father and brother.
