Auburn is in the top five for Kavon Conciauro ahead of this week's commitment date
Auburn football has the chance to enhance its 2026 recruiting efforts this week as it remains a giant contender to land a three-star wide receiver from Georgia.
Kavon Conciauro, a three-star wide receiver from Warner Robins, Georgia, will announce his commitment on Friday, July 11, and Auburn is named a finalist. The Tigers are competing with Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Georgia, and Duke for his pledge.
Conciauro took his official visit to Auburn during the weekend of June 6, a few months after visiting the Plains during the spring practice session. In an interview with Auburn Undercover, Conciauro spoke on the relationship he has developed with wide receivers coach Marcus Davis. Davis is making Conciauro a priority despite entering his recruitment later than most programs, and Conciauro feels that he can "relate" to Davis. Davis' ability to develop and coach his players stands out to the talented wide receiver the most.
"Seeing guys make plays, seeing (Davis) coach up guys who make mistakes, and then guys execute off the coaching points he makes was great," Conciauro said. "It shows that the guys bought in, and he bought into the guys as well."
As has been the case for many recruits lately, Auburn is not considered the frontrunner to land Conciauro, and will look to make a strong push this week leading up to his commitment date. Mississippi State is seen as the favorite heading into the week with a 58.2% forecast. Conciauro is the No. 59 player from Georgia for the 2026 cycle, and is the No. 93 wide receiver according to On3.

UFC on ESPN 70 video: Mike Davis swarms Mitch Ramirez for TKO after flying knee
Mike Davis returned to the win column with an impressive finish of Mitch Ramirez. The lightweight bout was the second preliminary fight at UFC on ESPN 70 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. Davis (12-3 MMA, 5-2 UFC), who went back to the drawing board after his last fight, showed improvements across the board leading up to a TKO finish of Ramirez (8-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) at 4:08 of Round 2. The first round was one-way traffic from Davis, as he quickly got the fight to the ground and latched on to Ramirez's back for a majority of the round while hunting for a rear-naked choke. In Round 2, striking was the path both fighters chose. Although Davis took his share of strikes from Ramirez, he kept engaging, and started to pull away as the round wore on. Once he got Ramirez close to the fence, Davis jumped forward with a flying knee that landed clean, and the flurry of punches that followed dropped Ramirez for the finish. Check out video of the stoppage below (via X): Davis bounces back into the win column after a decision loss to Fares Ziam in February. In preparation for this fight, he added more muscle to his frame in order not to get overpowered by lightweight opposition – a move that worked out very well against Ramirez. Auburn star Tahaad Pettiford arrested on DUI charge
Auburn basketball star Tahaad Pettiford was arrested on Saturday morning with a DUI charge in Lee County, Alabama, per jail logs obtained by ESPN. The anticipated SEC Player of the Year contender for the upcoming season was released from jail midday and is no longer on the list as an inmate in the jail's log, the outlet reported. The incident comes just weeks after Pettiford withdrew from the NBA draft to rejoin the Tigers for his sophomore season, looking to prove he is ready for the next level. NBAE via Getty Images 'We are aware of the situation, and we will handle it internally with Tahaad and his family,' Auburn coach Bruce Pearl said in a statement to ESPN on Saturday. 'We take these matters seriously and will learn and grow from it moving forward.' In his freshman year, Pettiford averaged 11.6 points per game while shooting 42.1 percent from the field across an average 22.9 minutes. He was a key member of an Auburn team that went on to reach the Final Four last season, averaging 15.2 points in the five tournament games. The Jersey City native will be a big highlight of the team's next chapter after star Johni Broome was selected by the 76ers at 35th overall. 'I was happy to go through the process, getting feedback from NBA teams,' Pettiford told ESPN at the time of leaving the draft. 'Going back to Auburn is a better situation for me. I see myself being a higher pick next year. It wasn't 100 percent this year, so I didn't want to take that chance.' Tahaad Pettiford dunks the ball during the 2025 NBA Draft Combine. NBAE via Getty Images Pettiford wasn't a part of the big freshman conversation throughout last season, but for the upcoming year, he is on a short list of players as a possible preseason All-American. In the past, Pearl has applauded Pettiford's team-player mentality when it came to accepting his place and playing time among a team of veterans. 'I suppose some would just sort of expect that to be a problem,' Pearl said about Pettiford's situation in April. 'Not a word. Not a body language, shoulder shrug, roll eye ever from Tahaad.'
