Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom end their nine year relationship
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have called off their relationship. A source confirmed to PEOPLE that the couple, who got engaged in 2019, have decided to part ways. TMZ was the first to report the news.
Perry, 40, and Bloom, 48, first met in 2016 at a Golden Globes afterparty -- over a shared love for In-N-Out burgers. According to People, Katy, while recalling the moment during an episode of American Idol, said, 'I met my boyfriend over In-N-Out. We were at the Golden Globes, and we weren't together.'
'So I had my security guard grab 10 In-N-Outs, and all of a sudden I see my boyfriend's hand, he wasn't even sitting at our table. he just swoops in and grabs it. I was like, 'Hey, that's my burger!'.'
Later that year, the couple went public with their romance after attending the Cannes Film Festival and sharing their first photo on Instagram. However, their relationship has had its ups and downs.
In February 2017, the couple announced they had broken up but stayed on good terms during an appearance on Call Her Daddy. 'We're friends, it's good,' Bloom said of his split with Perry in April 2017.
'We're all grown up. She happens to be someone who is very visible, but I don't think anybody cares about what I'm up to. Nor should they. It's between us. It's better to set an example for kids and show that [breakups] don't have to be about hate.'

The two reunited in 2018 but reportedly chose not to label their relationship at first. A source told PEOPLE back then, 'They are not girlfriend and boyfriend. They do seem very happy together, though. Orlando always had the nicest things to say about Katy. He loves spending time with her.' Later that year, they made their red carpet debut at the Gala for the Global Ocean in Monaco.

Post Katy Perry Split, Orlando Bloom Gets Cosy with Mystery Woman at Jeff Bezos-Lauren Sanchez's Wedding Party
Orlando Bloom appears to be moving on following his reported breakup with Katy Perry. The actor was seen cozying up to a mystery woman at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's pre-wedding celebration in Venice, Italy, on Thursday night. According to Page Six report, Bloom and the unidentified brunette were photographed leaving the Madonna dell'Orto cloisters, where Bezos and Sánchez hosted a lavish welcome event. The pair later boarded a private boat together, heading toward the luxurious Aman Hotel, which reportedly cleared out non-wedding guests for the star-studded celebration. Actor seen wrapping arm around brunette guest after Katy Perry split Despite heavy rainfall that briefly disrupted the festivities, Bloom and his companion seemed to enjoy each other's company. She wore a green embellished silk dress, and the Pirates of the Caribbean star was seen wrapping his arm around her as they laughed together on their way to the hotel. Earlier in the day, Bloom was seen on a water taxi ride with retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady, another guest at the multi-day wedding event. The two were photographed chatting and smiling as they cruised through Venice's canals with a small group of friends. There is a strong element of surprise surrounding the wedding weekend. According to Page Six, guests were only told when to show up for water taxis and not given exact event locations in advance. Bloom, dressed in a beige linen suit over a white button-up shirt, greeted fellow guests warmly, including Kim Kardashian, whom he welcomed with air kisses. His friendly interaction with Kardashian came months after a viral moment in September 2024, when Bloom was caught on camera glancing at the Skims founder during a public appearance. At the time, Katy Perry had reportedly approved of the incident. Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry split Just earlier this month, Page Six reported that Bloom and Perry had officially ended their nearly 10-year relationship. And this three-day event, replete with celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey and Kim Kardashian, security fit for kings, a foam party on a superyacht and a whole lot of luxury hotels is being dubbed as the 'wedding of the century'. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD But what's the price tag for such an extravaganza? Luca Zaia, the governor of the Veneto region, of which Venice is part, has said that the Bezos-Sanchez affair will cost 'at least €40 million,' or around $46 million (Rs 400 crore) — far surpassing the average $36,000 that US couples are expected to spend this year on their nuptials. Bezos-Sanchez's three-day wedding affair The Amazon founder and his wife to-be, Lauren Sanchez , chose Venice for their OTT wedding affair with celebrations beginning on Thursday (June 26) with a casual welcome event next to the Gothic church of Madonna dell'Orto. It is one of Venice's most important church complexes that houses the remains of Renaissance painter Tintoretto. And the wedding celebrations will continue for a third day with the reception in the Arsenale, a massive brick complex best known today as one of the main venues for the Biennale cultural festivals. A-list celebs, luxury hotels, private jets and water taxis But to make such a wedding come to life isn't easy and or cheap. Massive logistics have to be put in place to ensure that this event plays out without any hitches and for that purpose. Bezos and Sanchez have invited an estimated 250 guests, including several high-profile celebrities. While the entire guest list is still a secret, some were spotted on Thursday making their way on to water taxis. These include Kim Kardashian, her sisters and mother, Ivanka Trump, her husband Jared Kushner and their three children, Oprah Winfrey, Orlando Bloom and former American footballer Tom Brady. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Kim Kardashian, and sister Khloé Kardashian, arrive in Venice, Italy, Thursday for Jeff Bezos' wedding to Lauren Sanchez. AP It is reported that Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger, Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Hollywood A-lister Leonardo DiCaprio is also expected to attend the nuptials. And for these guests, Bezos and Sanchez have booked out five of the city's most luxurious hotels. The hotels include Cipriani on the island of Giudecca, and the Aman on the Grand Canal where US actor George Clooney stayed for his 2014 wedding with human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin . According to travel website Kayak, the basic room at the Aman costs $2,736. Orlando Bloom leaves a hotel for the pre wedding reception of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez, in Venice, Italy. AP Moreover, to ferry these A-list guests and everything else required for the events, Bezos and Sanchez have hired 90 private jets and also booked at least 30 water taxis from different companies in Venice for the wedding guests. Here comes the bride Also contributing to the million-dollar price tag of the wedding is Lauren Sanchez's wedding trousseau, including her dress, the flowers and her makeup. The Times of India has put down the cost to be $525,000 (Rs 4.48 crore). Lauren Sanchez leaves the Aman Venice hotel, ahead of their expected wedding, in Venice, Italy. She's dressed in a Schiaparelli dress from their spring 2025 couture collection. Reuters And this doesn't seem incredulous considering what Sanchez has already been pictured wearing for her wedding celebrations. She started it off with a 2003 Alexander McQueen dress with mother-of-pearl stripes. She followed that up with a Schiaparelli dress from their spring 2025 couture collection. The gold look, designed by Daniel Roseberry, features a corseted bodice covered in gold bugle beads as well as an off-the-shoulder neckline with hand-embroidered flowers. She accessorised the dress with diamond earrings as well as her multimillion-dollar engagement ring. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD It is still to be seen which designer she chooses for her wedding but many are speculating that Sanchez is opting for a Dolce and Gabbana creation. Donations and gifts Besides spending for hotels, water taxis and other logistics, Bezos and Sanchez are also making sizeable charity donations, including €1 million (Rs 10 crore) for Corila, an academic consortium that studies Venice's lagoon ecosystem, Italy's Corriere della Sera newspaper and the ANSA news agency reported. There are also reports that the A-list guests will receive extravagant gifts from the couple. It is reported that hand-blown Murano glass created by Laguna B, a Venetian glass company with a rich history, is to be given to the guests. Furthermore, other luxury items are also expected, though details remain confidential. Reuters Over 1,000 times the cost of a US wedding While Bezos and Sanchez are shelling out $46 million for their nuptials, a study shows that this is over 1,000 times the cost of an average US wedding. A study by Zola predicts that couples in America will spend roughly $36,000 (Rs 30.7 lakh) for a wedding, up from $31,000 (Rs 26.5 lakh) in 2024. The study also notes that more than 50 per cent of couples are expected to go over budget. Brooke Avishay, the owner of Orange Blossom Special Events, was quoted as saying that the price of weddings in the US has been steadily rising for the past five years. 'This surge is largely due to inflation and the aftereffects of the Covid-19 pandemic. When weddings were put on hold in 2020, the industry suffered, and many small, specialised businesses experienced staffing shortages. Once events resumed in 2021, the sudden, overwhelming demand — combined with limited vendor capacity — naturally drove up prices, a trend that has held steady into 2025.'
