'The Congress organisation will make every effort to help people and reduce their hardships,' he said.
Speaking to reporters at the party's state headquarters here, Dotasra said, 'The BJP government in Rajasthan is not doing any work in public interest. The people are distressed by misrule.' He said Congress leaders and workers would stay connected with people at the grassroots level and serve as a bridge to convey their issues to the government.
Jaipur, Jul 15 (PTI) Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (RPCC) president Govind Singh Dotasra on Tuesday alleged that the people of the state are suffering due to the misrule of the BJP government.
Accusing the BJP government of evading accountability, Dotasra alleged that several welfare schemes launched by the previous Congress-led government in the state have either been stalled or sidelined.
'No one in the current government is willing to provide answers,' he said.
Dotasra also informed that the process of forming Congress committees at booth, mandal, block, and city levels in the state is nearing completion.
'Now, party workers will take the failures and anti-people policies of the BJP governments—both at the Centre and in the state—to the public through the organisation,' he said. PTI SDA HIG HIG

Marco Rubio Says Steps Agreed To End Syria Fighting

Washington: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said there was an agreement to restore calm in Syria by late Wednesday, as he blamed misunderstandings over violence that included Israeli strikes on its neighbor's capital. "We have agreed on specific steps that will bring this troubling and horrifying situation to an end tonight," Rubio wrote on X. "This will require all parties to deliver on the commitments they have made and this is what we fully expect them to do," he wrote, without elaborating on the nature of the agreement. Rubio, who had earlier said to expect "real progress" within hours, blamed "historic longtime rivalries" for the clashes in the majority-Druze city of Sweida, which Israel has cited for its latest military intervention. "It led to an unfortunate situation and a misunderstanding, it looks like, between the Israeli side and the Syrian side," Rubio told reporters in the White House of the situation which has included Israel bombing the Syrian army's headquarters in Damascus. "We've been engaged with them all morning long and all night long -- with both sides -- and we think we're on our way towards a real deescalation and then hopefully get back on track and helping Syria build the country and arriving at a situation in the Middle East that is far more stable," Rubio, who is also national security advisor, said as Trump nodded. State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce, speaking shortly before Rubio's announcement of a deal, said that the United States had asked Syrian government forces to pull out of the flashpoint area. "We are calling on the Syrian government to, in fact, withdraw their military in order to enable all sides to de-escalate and find a path forward," she told reporters, without specifying the exact area. She declined comment on whether the United States wanted Israel to stop its strikes. Rubio, asked by a reporter earlier in the day at the State Department what he thought of Israel's bombing, said, "We're very concerned about it. We want it to stop." The State Department afterward issued fuller comments in which Rubio did not directly reference Israel but said that the communal violence was a "direct threat to efforts to help build a peaceful and stable Syria." "We have been and remain in repeated and constant talks with the governments of Syria and Israel on this matter," he said Trump has staunchly backed Israel including in its military campaigns in Gaza and Iran. But he has been prioritizing diplomacy with Syria's new leadership, seeing an opening after Sunni Islamist-led fighters toppled longtime ruler Bashar al-Assad in December.

Andhra woos investors as Karnataka pauses aerospace park land deal amid protests

In this episode of Super 6, the discussion focusses on the competition for aerospace investment between Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. This follows the Karnataka government's decision to pause the land acquisition process for a proposed aerospace park, a move attributed to ongoing farmer protests against what they term a 'coercive' process. While the Karnataka government asserts it is not abandoning its aerospace ambitions but balancing them with farmers' interests, Andhra Pradesh has extended an open invitation to aerospace companies. A spokesperson for the Karnataka Congress stated, "What we have paused right now was a coercive land acquisition process. Not our aerospace ambition, what we have simply done is what we have promised." The debate explores whether Andhra Pradesh's proactive pitch could divert investment from Karnataka, with the TDP highlighting its new space policy and the BJP criticizing the current Karnataka government for potentially losing out on development opportunities.

2,000 fruit trees cut: Himachal Pradesh high court says continue to clear forest land

Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh high court on Wednesday reiterated that state govt authorities must ensure apple and other fruit trees planted on encroached forest land in the state were removed in equal terms. The division bench, comprising Justice Vivek Singh Thakur and Justice Bipin Chander Negi, was apprised by the state govt that officials of the forest and revenue departments, under the ongoing drive, had so far removed over 2,000 trees of apples and other fruits from encroached forest land mainly in three villages of Shimla district — Chaithla in Kotkhai tehsil and Sarahan village in Kumarsain tehsil. During the previous hearing on July 14, the court clarified that the order for the removal of apple trees from forest land was not limited to orchards where attempts were being made to reoccupy govt land. The court also directed the state govt on Wednesday to file a fresh status report on the next date of hearing about the strict compliance of the court orders for the removal of encroachment in a transparent manner. The status report must also mention the undue profit earned by encroachers by not only cutting down the forest trees but also utilising the land over the years by sowing crops and raising orchards so that recovery proceedings can be initiated against them. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo The court also observed loopholes in the status reports being filed in the court and the factual ground position pertaining to the encroachment over govt land. Minister Raises Concern Education minister Rohit Thakur, who is MLA from the apple-growing Jubbal-Kotkhai constituency, on Wednesday said it was a matter of serious concern and fruit-bearing trees should not have been cut during monsoon, which is when plantation drives are carried out. He added that though the eviction drive was being carried out on high court directions, he would take up the issue with chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, as it was not good to cut fruit trees when the crop was ready for harvest in just a few weeks. The minister added at least small farmers needed to be saved. In 2015-16, the then Congress govt took an initiative to come up with a policy to benefit farmers who owned less than five bighas of need-based encroachment by landless or small farmers, but the govt changed in 2017, said Thakur. Himachal Kisan Sabha and Himachal Seb Utpadak Sangh, led-by former MLA from Shimla and CPI(M) leader Rakesh Singha, have been urging the immediate intervention of the chief minister to stop the eviction proceedings. They have also given a call to gherao the Himachal Pradesh Secretariat in Shimla on July 29.
