Selena Gomez Just Wore the Perfect Summer Pants
THE RUNDOWN:
Capris aren't going anywhere just yet. Selena Gomez and her fiancé Benny Blanco were spotted following a romantic evening in Century City in Los Angeles on August 5. The two were spotted leaving a cooking class, with Blanco looking the part as the ever-supportive fiancé in a pasta-sauce-stained Rare Beauty apron.
Gomez was all smiles in a polished but relaxed date night outfit. Capris have been the go-to pants for It girls like Bella Hadid, who has worn slim black pairs reminiscent of pedal-pushers. Instead, the Only Murders in the Building actress chose a tailored denim pair from Jacquemus, which slightly flared just below the knee like a traditional capri, making them the perfect choice of pants for a cool summer evening.
Gomez kept things simple on top, opting for a black La Ligne cardigan with a simple white trim and matching tank top, both from the brand's collaboration with Glee actress Dianna Agron. The look was complemented by a sleek pair of black kitten heels, also from Jacquemus.
Recently, Gomez has been busy with Rare Beauty's newest fragrance, which launched at the end of July. Amaya Espinal, Love Island USA's season 7 winner, posted a TikTok video of the two trying out the scent. This fall, the actress will also return to Hulu for season 5 of Only Murders in the Building, which premieres on September 9.

How Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift Became BFFs After Jonas Brothers Splits
Originally appeared on E! Online It's nice to have a friend. Especially when the friends are both going through breakups with brothers. Such was the case for Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift, who first met in 2008 while dating Nick Jonas and Joe Jonas, respectively, and then leaned on each other after they all broke up. 'Everything was cute, we were young,' Selena said of their time dating the Jonas Brothers members during an appearance on the Aug. 6 episode of the Therapuss podcast. 'We all know and love each other now and it's so cute. We don't know what we were doing—she and I like to say the best thing we got out of those relationships was each other because it was really sweet. I was about 15, she was about 18, and that's when it was crazy curly Taylor and she had all these bracelets.' The Rare Beauty founder continued, 'At that age we became best friends—bonded over the breakup, as girls do. And then we just stuck around for all the ups and downs that came after, and here we are now 16 years later.' Selena also detailed an especially enchanted moment from the early days of their friendship. More from E! 'I was in a hotel room and I remember it vividly, it was just one of those songs I instantly heard and thought this is one of the most beautiful songs ever.' Calling the moment 'so sweet,' Selena continued, 'She was like 'Okay I just want to play you this song but, I don't know, it's going to be the first single I think.' And just hearing her say those little thoughts and just listening to it—she's incredible.' Indeed, Selena and Taylor have remained thick as thieves over the years, standing at the other's side for all their biggest moments. For instance, Taylor was among the guests at Selena's recent 33rd rooftop birthday party. The pals posed together amid silver and gold balloons in Selena's July 20 Instagram post from the festivities, in which the Disney Channel alum reflected on 'the incredible journey' that brought here to where she is today. Taylor also made sure Selena was properly celebrated. As seen in an Instagram Story shared by Selena's fiancé Benny Blanco, Taylor really rose to the occasion and gifted her BFF a homemade sourdough loaf, a Le Labo candle as well as bottles of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. "It's a loaf story," the Midnights artist wrote on a tag adorning the gift basket, a reference to that song she first played for Selena all those years ago, while another tag read, "Love, Taylor." Selena Gomez Says She's ‘Never Felt So Sure' About Marrying Benny Blanco
THE RUNDOWN: Selena Gomez is revealing the origin story of her and Benny Blanco's relationship. On the August 7 episode of the podcast Therapuss with Jake Shane, Gomez shared that she and Blanco first met when she was 16, when they were potentially going to work on music together. It didn't work out at the time (she didn't officially release music until a year or two later), so they would just occasionally see each other around. 'I feel like he was an acquaintance, if that makes sense,' she said. 'To be honest, we weren't besties. I just thought he was nice, and then we did a few songs together. [We did] 'Same Old Love,' which was awesome, and we had a great time... nothing really there. And then [we did] 'I Can't Get Enough,' which was with Tainy and J Balvin... didn't get it there either. I just thought he was funny, but I didn't think anything of it.' They later got back in the studio for 'Single Soon,' which was released in 2023. 'It wasn't our favorite,' she revealed. 'I can say this because I'm marrying him. It just really wasn't what I thought I wanted. So he just came in and I was like, 'Oh, hi, Benny,' and we spoke for two hours. I asked him to hook me up with anybody that he knew who was cute, and he was like, 'Oh, we do these things, these dinner nights. You should come,' and next thing you know, we're dating.' Gomez revealed that Blanco was initially apprehensive about mixing business and pleasure. 'He was terrified in the beginning because it was work and it's combining, and people are going to get mad. And I'm like, 'I don't give a shit. Kiss me.'' She also opened up about how she feels about getting married. 'I couldn't be more excited,' she said, though she added that a wedding isn't happening anytime soon. 'There's so much happening at the moment. He's working on some projects that he has to wrap up, and we just have things we want to finish and our own personal endeavors before we get into all the nitty-gritty. I just have really never felt so sure about something, and I also don't want to jinx it by saying that.' Read more about Gomez and Blanco's full relationship history here. Only Murders in the Building Season 5: Release date, time, cast updates and plot details
By Aman Shukla Published on August 7, 2025, 19:30 IST Last updated August 7, 2025, 14:24 IST Only Murders in the Building is heading back to Hulu this September, and if you thought the stakes were high before, just wait. After that emotionally loaded Season 4 finale, the Arconia is once again at the heart of a brand-new mystery. And this time, it's more personal than ever. Here's a look at what's ahead: release details, returning favourites, and the newcomers stirring things up in Season 5. Release Date and Time for Season 5 Season 5 officially drops on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Hulu's kicking things off with a three-episode launch, followed by a new episode every Tuesday through the fall. If you're in India, episodes should go live around 12:30 PM IST—so whether you binge over lunch or save it for later, the schedule's friendly. Weekly releases can be a blessing or a curse, depending on your patience level. But let's be honest—it gives everyone time to theorize (and rewatch), which is half the fun with a show like this. Cast Updates: Returning Favorites and New Faces Naturally, the core trio is back: Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez return as Charles, Oliver, and Mabel—still an unlikely mix of chaos, charm, and dry humor that somehow works perfectly. Meryl Streep is returning as Loretta (now officially Oliver's partner), which opens the door for some heartfelt—and probably hilarious—developments. You'll also see the usual suspects around the Arconia: Michael Cyril Creighton (Howard), Da'Vine Joy Randolph (Detective Williams), Jackie Hoffman (Uma), and appearances from Richard Kind and Nathan Lane. But it's the newcomers that really shake things up this season. Téa Leoni joins the cast as Sofia Caccimelio, who's directly tied to that cliffhanger at the end of Season 4. And then there's the lineup that reads like awards-season bait: Renée Zellweger, Christoph Waltz, Logan Lerman, Keegan-Michael Key, Jermaine Fowler, Beanie Feldstein, Bobby Cannavale, and Dianne Wiest. No one's saying who they're playing yet, which only adds to the suspense. Plot Details: A Personal and Perilous Mystery Season 5 dives into a deeply personal case for Charles, Oliver, and Mabel. After the Season 4 finale's shocking reveal, the trio investigates the suspicious death of their beloved doorman, Lester (Teddy Coluca), found dead in the Arconia's courtyard fountain—a place tied to his own wedding day. Refusing to accept it as an accident, the trio's probe uncovers a 'dangerous web of secrets' linking billionaires, old-school mobsters, and the Arconia's enigmatic residents. The investigation stretches beyond the building, exploring the clash between old and new New York, where traditional mob influences battle emerging, even shadier players. Sofia Caccimelio's missing husband adds another layer of intrigue, potentially tied to Lester's murder. Showrunner John Hoffman teases a bold reinvention, with the emotional weight of investigating a friend's death driving deeper character dynamics. Expect the signature mix of humor, heart, and suspense, with the Arconia's secrets unraveling in unexpected ways. The season's 10-episode arc promises twists, cliffhangers, and the trio's podcast taking on new dimensions as they navigate this high-stakes case.
