Brooklyn Beckham roasted by celebrity chef as Dad David offers olive branch
Brooklyn Beckham has found himself in hot water over his latest culinary creation — and we don't mean the pasta water.
The 26-year-old aspiring chef shared a video on Instagram this week showcasing his take on spaghetti carbonara, starting the clip with a cuddle from two dogs before moving to the stove.
But while his 16 million followers got a step-by-step look at his recipe, not everyone was impressed – least of all celebrity chef Aldo Zilli.
Zilli didn't hold back, accusing Brooklyn of 'burning the guanciale' and 'jumping on the cooking bandwagon.'
The Italian-born chef said: 'Burning guanciale [bacon lardons] would cause it to become bitter, hard and make the carbonara taste terrible – maybe he needs a masterclass from Aldo Zilli! Stop changing recipes!'
Brooklyn's followers piled on, with comments ranging from, 'You burnt your guanciale, made it black,' to, 'What in the extremely charred pork cheek is going on here??'
Brooklyn, however, defended his method, replying: 'Guanciale has a lot of sugar in that's why it's darker. I slow cooked it so it's not burned.'
The culinary criticism comes against the backdrop of ongoing rumours of a family rift between Brooklyn, his wife Nicola Peltz, and his famous parents. More Trending
The couple notably skipped David Beckham's lavish 50th birthday celebrations in May, fuelling speculation that tensions had deepened.
But there may be signs of a thaw. In what many are reading as an olive branch, David, 50, quietly liked Brooklyn's carbonara post – his first public show of support in months.
The football legend and wife Victoria, 51, were recently enjoying a summer holiday in St Tropez with their other children, while Brooklyn and Nicola remained Stateside.
Whether the Beckham family peace talks will be served up as quickly as Brooklyn's pasta remains to be seen, but for now, it looks like the guanciale isn't the only thing simmering.

The model also included a photo of Positano at night, lit up by lights, as well as a candid portrait of her friends and their kids. She posted photos of the extravagant seafood meals she enjoyed while on vacation. Ratajkowski also posted a clip of scantily-clad self in a bikini as she jumped off a boat and into the ocean, where her friend and her son were swimming. Her son Sly was also at her side while sunbathing at the beach, at one point, as seen in another photo of her son sitting in her lap as she laid on a chaise. She included a snapshot of her friend pouring a glass of white wine on a patio with a view as well as a picture of her backside while on another yachting excursion. She posted photos of her son's spaghetti alongside a plate of grilled fish and another short clip of her diving into the ocean in synchronization.

Exhibition hopes to showcase artwork of Ukrainian refugees
The aim is to hold a showcase in Leith next month which would be a 'pivotal' moment for the 25 artists. It is being organised by award-winning social enterprise Abandoned Artists CIC, which is dedicated to supporting displaced and refugee artists to rebuild their creative lives in Scotland. A spokesperson said: 'The exhibition is a pivotal moment for our cohort of displaced Ukrainian artists to transform their traumatic experiences into the future, breaking down barriers and building meaningful connections. 'This showcase will celebrate not just survival but an artistic evolution. More than an exhibition, it's a call to reflect on how art helps us belong, integrate and begin again together. It marks a moment of visibility for artists who, until now, have not had the platform to be seen or heard by wider audiences.' The organisation said that while it was very grateful for donations and support already received, cash was still needed and the only way to overcome some 'massive barriers' the displaced artists face to take part in the show. Most of the refugee artists have been housed far beyond the central belt, often in remote areas of Scotland, so funds are needed to cover public transport tickets, accommodation and small bursaries to allow two days of installation and the opening night in Edinburgh. There are also some installation and equipment hire costs so both individual and corporate sponsorship would be welcome. The exhibition is planned for Custom House from September 3 to September 7. Working across many disciplines, the artists will reflect not only on what they have left behind but on how they have continued to create, adapt, and speak through their practice. Abandoned Artists CIC was founded in 2023 by Ukrainian-born, Scottish-based research artist and curator Alena Rogozhkina (below), who has had difficulty visiting close family members such as her parents since 2014 when Russia began the Donbas occupation. The organisation's mission is to be a lasting support structure for displaced and refugee artists, 'unlocking their full potential by nurturing creative expression, supporting professional development, and prioritising mental wellbeing'.
