The future of
Giannis Antetokounmpo
with the Milwaukee Bucks is still the subject of trade rumours. However, Doc Rivers has already created his grand strategy for the upcoming season. It appears that he doesn't care about the rumours that connected the NBA legend to New York or Houston.
He talked about his plans for the NBA icon during a recent appearance.
Giannis Antetokounmpo
to lead as
point guard
next season, says Doc Rivers amid trade speculation
The
Milwaukee Bucks
have made several significant moves in recent weeks, but one of their most significant moves might be an inside one. They cut and stretched Damian Lillard to sign Myles Turner to a four-year, $107 million deal.
Additionally, Giannis Antetokounmpo's continuing presence was ensured by these deals. It also reportedly moved the team closer to contention.
Doc Rivers
appeared on a recent NBATV broadcast at the Vegas Summer League and discussed his plans for the Milwaukee Bucks star's future.
He also stated that he made a drastic choice after
Damian Lillard
's injury the previous season. He made the Greek Freak the main ball handler for the team by giving Giannis Antetokounmpo the point guard responsibilities.
The team was reportedly taken aback by the move. He further acknowledges that when he came up with the idea, his coaching staff questioned his sanity. He stated:
'The second half of the year, when I put the ball in Giannis' hands, we did it by default.

I'd love to say, I'm this genius and I thought, 'Hey let's play Giannis at the point guard spot'.'
He then revealed:
'When I brought it up with our coaches, they thought I had lost my mind. When I brought it up with Giannis, he thought I had lost my mind.'

He further admitted that the plan reportedly wasn't well thought out. However, this is probably the reason why the Milwaukee Bucks were able to start the postseason as the fifth seed in the
Eastern Conference
, despite Damian Lillard's injury forcing his hand.
Then, further explaining his plan for the
NBA legend
, he said:
'Nobody's pressuring Giannis. So it allowed us, even against Indiana, to bring up the ball pressure free.'
The tactic has a chain effect. Due to this decision, the Milwaukee Bucks' shooters can get clean shots because Giannis Antetokounmpo attracts defensive attention.

3 runs needed in 1 ball! Jason Holder pulls off last-ball heroic as Pakistan handed first loss in T20I series

West Indies' Jason Holder (AP Photo/Lynne Sladky) Jason Holder showcased an outstanding all-round performance as West Indies secured a dramatic two-wicket victory against Pakistan in the second Twenty20 international, levelling the three-match series. Holder delivered an exceptional bowling spell, claiming 4-19 in his four overs, restricting Pakistan to 133 for nine after they chose to bat first in Florida. West Indies faced challenges during their chase as Pakistan's spinners maintained tight control. However, crucial contributions from Gudakesh Motie and Romario Shepherd kept them in contention before Holder's final-ball boundary off Shahid Shah Afridi sealed the win. Watch: This victory marked West Indies' first T20 success in seven matches, following their 5-0 series loss to Australia and a test series defeat. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! "Been a tough couple of weeks for us. We always try to get better, the guys have put in a lot of hard work. Hopefully today is the turnaround we are looking for," said captain Shai Hope. Pakistan's innings was anchored by Hasan Nawaz's quick 40 from 23 balls and captain Salman Agha's 38 off 33 deliveries. They helped recover the team from a difficult position of 53-4 in the tenth over. Mohammad Nawaz continued his impressive form, taking 3-14 in four overs, following his three-wicket haul in Pakistan's victory in the first match. The West Indies batting struggled on the spin-friendly pitch, losing regular wickets. They found themselves in trouble at 70-5 in the 14th over after Roston Chase's dismissal. Poll Do you think West Indies can build on this victory in the next T20 match? Yes, they have momentum now No, they will struggle again Motie's energetic 28 from 20 balls and Shepherd's vital 15 from 11 deliveries, including 10 runs in Hasan Ali's penultimate over, kept West Indies' hopes alive. The final over required eight runs for victory. After Shepherd's dismissal and three singles, a wide delivery from Afridi left West Indies needing three runs from the last ball. "We've had a fair bit of criticism which is warranted. We haven't done justice to our potential. We can be a lot better, consistency has definitely plagued us," said player-of-the-match Holder. The series concludes with the third T20 in Lauderhill on Sunday, followed by an ODI series in the Caribbean. Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4. Watch Here!

IND vs ENG Test: Former England skipper says Mohammed Siraj brings Kohli-Rohit-like intensity to Team India - 'He lifts the team'

India's Mohammed Siraj walks off field after the third day's play of the fifth cricket test match between England and India at The Kia Oval in London, Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025. (AP Photo/Kirsty Wigglesworth) Former England captain Nasser Hussain believes Mohammed Siraj brings a unique energy to the Indian team, comparable to what Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma offer on the field. "With Chris Woakes going down injured for England, Siraj is the only fast bowler who has lasted the course of the series and put in spell after spell," Hussain wrote in his column for The Daily Mail. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! "He is the sort of bloke a captain absolutely loves. He lifts the team. I always talk about Darren Gough being that sort of person when I was England captain, and Siraj is that man for India." Hussain also lauded the fighting spirit India have shown throughout the series. "I have been hugely impressed with the character and fight they have shown throughout this series," he said. India vs England Day 4 weather forecast: More rain in store for Day 4, which team will benefit? "Some people thought they might roll over after the way they lost at Headingley, but they have since shown what a tough side they are to beat. "They have won as many sessions as England, if not more. They have just been found wanting in some of the crucial moments. "It is especially impressive when you consider they lost legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli right before the series." Mohammed Siraj has bowled an impressive 155-plus overs across nine England innings, and not once did the thought of physical breakdown cross his mind during this marathon series. At a time when the term 'workload management' is in vogue, Siraj lasting five Tests and already picking up 18 wickets from four games is a testimony to his world-class fitness and stamina. Poll Do you believe India can win the series despite losing key players? Yes, they have the character No, it's too challenging Maybe, it depends on performance "I don't think about breaking down. I only think about the match. I love playing for the country and I want to give everything to the country. I keep my plans simple and try to give my everything, and results do follow," Siraj told Sky Sports during an interview with former India player Dinesh Karthik . Siraj, who has shouldered a lot of extra responsibility in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah—who could only play three Tests due to workload management—said he enjoys taking on the challenge. "To be honest, I love responsibility, but I also miss Jassi bhai because he is a senior bowler and leads by example in terms of what lines and lengths to bowl to various batsmen. I like that. "When Jassi bhai isn't around, you get that confidence that you need to shoulder extra responsibility, and I enjoy that. I don't take extra pressure and try to keep things simple."
