A "radical" new series breaks Channel 4 record as 'biggest ever launch on streaming' for new E4 original
E4's new series The Honesty Box has broken streaming records with its impressive debut.
Described as "a radical dating experiment", the reality series follows a cast of hopeful singles on a quest to find true love. However, while in the sunny and romantic paradise of Truetopia, contestants must follow one rule: Do not lie.
Following its premiere on 28 April, The Honesty Box has become Channel 4's biggest ever launch on streaming for a brand new E4 original commission.
It has surpassed Married at First Sight UK as the biggest streaming launch of a new E4 series since 2021.
Meanwhile, the show's success extends beyond streaming, as its launch on linear TV resulted in E4's most watched debut since 2022. Over 530,000 viewers tuned in to catch the drama in the first seven days.

The Honesty Box is hosted by Geordie Shore's Vicky Pattison and MAFS Australia star Lucinda Light as they guide the contestants through the unique dating experience.
While the singletons explore various romances, they are tested by a state-of-the-art lie detection system, known as the Honesty Box, which uses probing questions to uncover their true feelings.

Lucinda plays the role of Sincerity Coach, encouraging the daters to "discover and share their inner truth". Meanwhile, Vicky takes over the Truth Terrace to reveal the results of the Honesty Box.
Each lie reduces money in the group's £100,000 Trust Fund. But with relationships on the line, the truth has the potential to cause even more damage.
As of yesterday, the series has pulled in over 1.9 million views, with fans eager to follow the dramatic experiment.
The Honesty Box airs Monday to Wednesday at 9pm on E4 and is available to stream on Channel 4.

Beloved twisty detective drama that's "one of ITV's most-watched" confirms July return with first look
Karen Pirie, the beloved detective drama from ITV, has confirmed its return with several first-look images. The three-part series, which premiered in 2022, followed the titular character (Lauren Lyle), a detective sergeant who is placed in charge of a 25-year-old cold case involving the unsolved murder of a barmaid. After becoming one of ITV's "most-watched" shows, the broadcaster renewed the series for a second season, and fans now finally have a month to mark in the calendar after it was confirmed that Karen Pirie will return to screens in July with a trio of two-hour episodes. The announcement also came with some first-look images, showcasing the titular character in her new role as detective inspector. Fans can also get a glimpse of Chris Jenks, who reprises his role as "loveable sidekick" DC Jason Murray. Based on Val McDermid's A Darker Domain, the second season sees Karen "seemingly given the authority she has long been fighting for". Just as she acclimatises to her "powerful" new role, the inspector is assigned an "infamous" unsolved case that will put her under "intense scrutiny". Related: The 30-year-old case, which is said to have "confounded investigators" and "intrigued the public", concerns the disappearance of a "charming" young heiress and her two-year-old son, with the pair vanishing after ransom demands from their kidnappers were not met. A twist comes, however, as the body of a man linked to the original kidnap is discovered. With the first new piece of evidence in decades, Karen assembles an "unbeatable team" for the "biggest challenge" of their careers. Facing pressure from her boss, the media and "sinister" forces, Karen delves deeper into the "internationally renowned" case, discovering "political grudges" and "painful secrets" as it becomes increasingly apparent that the "past is far from dead". Related: The return of the series will delight fans and critics alike, with the first season of the detective drama currently boasting an impressive approval rating of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes from 11 reviews. The site's critical consensus noted that the "clever and twisty" series "revamped" the "traditional grizzle detective procedural", while The Independent praised the show for telling its story in a "refreshingly cohesive" manner. Karen Pirie will return on ITV in July. Digital Spy's first print magazine is here! Emmerdale airs heartbreaking update on Nate's daughter in early ITVX episode
follow from , which is available to watch now on ITVX but hasn't yet aired on ITV1. Emmerdale airs the emotional fallout from Nate Robinson's death tonight – as Tracy reveals how their young daughter Frankie is responding to the terrible news. As suspicion and accusations continue to run rife around the village, there's a sobering moment as Tracy explains that 4-year-old Frankie is struggling to understand her father's fate. Tracy insists on working as usual at the local shop, but her boss Eric Pollard fears that she needs to take some time out. When Eric questions how things are at home, Tracy replies: "Frankie doesn't really understand that her dad's properly gone forever. "And I don't really know how to feel." Related: Later, Belle Dingle pays a visit to Tracy at home to check on her. Tracy explains that she's made little progress with helping Frankie to understand the reality of the situation. Tracy says: "She's [upstairs] watching cartoons for 10 minutes. A nice distraction, because she doesn't understand why her mum's so upset all the time." The emotional scenes come as two opposing theories over Nate's fate dominate discussion in the village. Tracy is convinced that Cain Dingle was responsible for Nate's demise, as he violently attacked his son on the day that he disappeared from the village. Related: Cain, meanwhile, reckons Tracy is deflecting to cover up her own guilt in the case. With everyone on the wrong track, it's good news for Nate's real killer John Sugden. John accidentally caused Nate's death last September and hid his body in a local lake. So far, nobody suspects that he's responsible for the terrible crime. Related: Amy Walsh, who plays Tracy, recently said: "Everything that unfolds after the initial news of Nate's death is just heartbreaking. And obviously the main person Tracy's thinking of in all of this is Frankie. "It's that whole concept of Frankie losing him as a dad and how amazing he was as a dad to her. And weirdly, how amazing Jurell [Carter, who played Nate] was with Frankie, who's played by Eden [Ratcliffe-Knights]. "It pulls on the heartstrings a bit for me, I have to say." Emmerdale airs these scenes tonight at 7.30pm on ITV1. The episode is also streaming now on airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX. Love Island confirms first bombshell to enter villa in show first
Love Island has confirmed the first bombshell of season 12. The ITV2 dating show kicks off a new season tomorrow night, introducing a new batch of singletons looking for love in the sun. Ahead of the launch episode, the first bombshell who will be entering the villa to shake things up for the original 12 Islanders has been confirmed. Toni, a 24-year-old pool cabana server from Connecticut, will make a bombshell entrance, marking the first American contestant to appear on the UK version of the show. The news was first teased in a video shared to Love Island's official Instagram page yesterday, in which host Maya Jama received a voice note from a mystery American. Related: Best streaming services "Hey Maya. I heard you want more twists. How about an American bombshell? Get ready. I'm on my way," the Islander teased, to which Maya added: "Alright, there's the sweet, sweet sounds of an American." Toni was officially confirmed today, revealing in a pre-entrance Q&A that she's looking for someone who "can make me laugh" and who's "quite active". She's also excited about the prospect of dating a British man, saying: "I've lived in three different states and I'm still single. It's time to try something new! "I have some British friends and they're pretty charming. I think all Americans love a good accent. British men are just more polite, with better manners." Related: Toni, who works as a pool cabana server in Sin City, Las Vegas, said she is "willing to relocate" for love, though it "would just break my heart to not have my job anymore". As for what kind of Islander she'll be, Toni said: "I don't want to be super messy. I'm not really like that. "I'm hoping to come out with friends of course. I guess I'm the party starter, I want everyone to have fun." Love Island starts Monday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
