A "radical" new series breaks Channel 4 record as 'biggest ever launch on streaming' for new E4 original

Yahoo09-05-2025

E4's new series The Honesty Box has broken streaming records with its impressive debut.
Described as "a radical dating experiment", the reality series follows a cast of hopeful singles on a quest to find true love. However, while in the sunny and romantic paradise of Truetopia, contestants must follow one rule: Do not lie.
Following its premiere on 28 April, The Honesty Box has become Channel 4's biggest ever launch on streaming for a brand new E4 original commission.
It has surpassed Married at First Sight UK as the biggest streaming launch of a new E4 series since 2021.
Meanwhile, the show's success extends beyond streaming, as its launch on linear TV resulted in E4's most watched debut since 2022. Over 530,000 viewers tuned in to catch the drama in the first seven days.

The Honesty Box is hosted by Geordie Shore's Vicky Pattison and MAFS Australia star Lucinda Light as they guide the contestants through the unique dating experience.
While the singletons explore various romances, they are tested by a state-of-the-art lie detection system, known as the Honesty Box, which uses probing questions to uncover their true feelings.

Lucinda plays the role of Sincerity Coach, encouraging the daters to "discover and share their inner truth". Meanwhile, Vicky takes over the Truth Terrace to reveal the results of the Honesty Box.
Each lie reduces money in the group's £100,000 Trust Fund. But with relationships on the line, the truth has the potential to cause even more damage.
As of yesterday, the series has pulled in over 1.9 million views, with fans eager to follow the dramatic experiment.
The Honesty Box airs Monday to Wednesday at 9pm on E4 and is available to stream on Channel 4.

Love Island confirms first bombshell to enter villa in show first

Love Island has confirmed the first bombshell of season 12. The ITV2 dating show kicks off a new season tomorrow night, introducing a new batch of singletons looking for love in the sun. Ahead of the launch episode, the first bombshell who will be entering the villa to shake things up for the original 12 Islanders has been confirmed. Toni, a 24-year-old pool cabana server from Connecticut, will make a bombshell entrance, marking the first American contestant to appear on the UK version of the show. The news was first teased in a video shared to Love Island's official Instagram page yesterday, in which host Maya Jama received a voice note from a mystery American. Related: Best streaming services "Hey Maya. I heard you want more twists. How about an American bombshell? Get ready. I'm on my way," the Islander teased, to which Maya added: "Alright, there's the sweet, sweet sounds of an American." Toni was officially confirmed today, revealing in a pre-entrance Q&A that she's looking for someone who "can make me laugh" and who's "quite active". She's also excited about the prospect of dating a British man, saying: "I've lived in three different states and I'm still single. It's time to try something new! "I have some British friends and they're pretty charming. I think all Americans love a good accent. British men are just more polite, with better manners." Related: Toni, who works as a pool cabana server in Sin City, Las Vegas, said she is "willing to relocate" for love, though it "would just break my heart to not have my job anymore". As for what kind of Islander she'll be, Toni said: "I don't want to be super messy. I'm not really like that. "I'm hoping to come out with friends of course. I guess I'm the party starter, I want everyone to have fun." Love Island starts Monday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX. Coronation Street fuels fan theory over Daniel's new love interest

follow from , which is available to watch now on ITVX but hasn't yet aired on ITV1. Coronation Street has fuelled a key fan theory over Daniel Osbourne's new relationship storyline. Fans are busy speculating over who Daniel's next girlfriend will be, after actor Rob Mallard shared a new storyline teaser with us on the red carpet at the British Soap Awards last week. With the news that Daniel could be moving on from Bethany Platt and Daisy Midgeley, some viewers have started to wonder whether Dee-Dee Bailey could be the lady in question. With interesting timing, Dee-Dee shares scenes with Daniel in tonight's episode as they have an unexpected heart-to-heart at the Bistro. Related: When Daniel's friend cancels lunch plans, Dee-Dee invites him to join her at her table instead. Daniel takes the opportunity to share his concerns over local teens Dylan Wilson and Brody Michaelis, who are butting heads after their tense time together in the Secure Training Centre. Meanwhile, Dee-Dee speaks to Daniel on how she's feeling following her decision to give away her baby daughter Laila to her brother James. Could this unexpected friendship be an early red herring – or a sign of things to come? Related: In his exclusive chat with us at the British Soap Awards, Rob explained: "I'm not allowed to say anything too specific, but sure enough, he'll be falling for another woman. He'll be falling head over heels again. When that happens, I'm not too sure. "And he's gone back to work at the school. We've got all the kids in the show, and with the age that they're at with the storylines, I should be involved with the younger cast a bit more." Asked whether Daniel will learn from his previous romantic mistakes, Rob laughed: "No, he can't! He's Ken's son, isn't he? Everything's got to be a mess all the time. "So I'm expecting just more chaotic relationships, just over and over and over again."Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX. New episodes of underrated Netflix hit branded 'best of new teen dramas' are now available to stream

The wait is officially over for Ginny and Georgia fans, as season three is available to stream on Netflix now. The comedy series has proven to be a hit for the streaming service, with fans and critics branding it one of the best new iterations of teen dramas. Antonia Gentry and Brianne Howey star respectively as mother-daughter-duo Ginny and Georgia Miller, who arrive in New England to build a new life after years on the run. "Free-spirited Georgia and her two kids, Ginny and Austin, move north in search of a fresh start but find that the road to new beginnings can be bumpy," reads the official Netflix synopsis. Supporting cast members include Diesel La Torraca who plays Georgia's son and Ginny's half-brother Austin, plus Scott Parker as Mayor Paul Randolph who has an instant connection with Georgia. Related: Ginny and Georgia debuted on Netflix in February 2021 and was renewed for a second season two months later. Season 2 dropped on Netflix in January 2023 and earned a 81% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with many claiming the follow-up season was better than the original. It took four months for the streaming service to confirm a third series in May 2023, with filming on the next instalment wrapping in September last year. Related: Season three sees two new cast members join the show, Manifest's Ty Doran, who will play Wolfe, a laid-back student in Ginny's poetry class and Noah Lamanna of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds fame as Tris, a skateboarding friend of Marcus and Silver's. As for what viewers can expect from season 3, creator Sarah Lampert previously told fans to buckle up for a "wild ride". Ginny & Georgia seasons 1-3 are available to watch on Netflix.
