How *NSYNC's Iconic 'Bye Bye Bye' Music Video Featured a Nod to Robert DeNiro (Exclusive)
On a new episode of Vevo's Footnotes, pop music fans travel back to 2000, when they first laid eyes on the music video for the lead single off of the band's record-breaking third studio album, No Strings Attached.
It was the album's cover art, symbolic of the band cutting ties with their former management, that inspired the high-energy music video. PEOPLE has a first look at the episode, which shares some of the inspiration that made it possible.
When it came to director Wayne Isham, he found inspiration for the setting of the dance breaks from 1951's Royal Wedding with Fred Astaire, dancing all over the room as he performed, "You're All The World to Me."

As for JC Chasez and Lance Bass's car chase scene, they asked Chasez ahead of time what his favorite car chase scene in a movie was. He replied with Robert De Niro's in Ronin.
Chasez was surprised when he met the crew who would help him prepare for the chase, as the very same stunt crew from the Ronin chase scene was there to coordinate.
Footnotes also shows love to Darrin Henson, who developed the beloved choreography that goes along with the track.
It almost didn't happen, however. Henson was considering taking time away from music video choreography when *NSYNC's manager approached him with the project. He agreed and would go on to win an MTV Video Music Award for Best Choreography.
In a clip previously posted on Instagram on Friday, Jan. 17, Bass commemorated 25 years of the music video in a special moment with son Alexander. The preschooler sat in his lap while they watched the 'Bye, Bye, Bye' music video on a screen positioned off-camera.
'Bye, bye, bye!' sings Alexander. This prompts Lance, 45, to ask, 'Can you do your hand?' Alexander then repeats the famous lyrics, this time mimicking the iconic hand gesture from the video.
'In honor of Bye Bye Bye's 25th anniversary,' Lance captioned the post.

Instagram/ Nicola Peltz Beckham 'I love seeing people who spend years in therapy over toxic family ties coming here and judging someone who actually had the guts to walk away,' Faria wrote under the post. 'Everyone's been kissing the Beckhams' ass forever, and Nicola was the first to stand up for her values since [she] couldn't care less about their fame or money!' Faria continued. 'The moment they couldn't control everything, they lost it and started planting fake press to make her look bad in the public eye.' 13 Rebecca Faria defends Nicola Peltz on Instagram. Faria went on to state that she's known Peltz 'for years' and said the actress is 'genuine, humble, and refuses to live in a fake world.' 'Brooklyn is a grown man who can defend himself just fine!' Prince Harry & Prince William Have New Rules to Avoid Each Other at Royal Wedding, Says Source
Prince Harry and are reportedly set to attend a royal wedding, but not together. According to sources, the brothers have set rules to avoid each other at Peter Phillips' upcoming nuptials separately. Their respective teams would seemingly follow the orders of King Charles' sons regarding the seating arrangement. While the elder sibling will allegedly not sit together with Harry, the latter doesn't want to be photographed with the throne's heir. Prince William and Prince Harry won't sit next to each other at cousin's wedding, says source Prince William and Prince Harry's feud seems to continue as they reportedly won't sit next to each other at cousin Peter Phillips' royal wedding. A senior source from the palace exclusively told Rob Shuter's #ShuterScoop that their family dispute is 'still active and raw.' 'They made it clear: no photos, no interactions, and absolutely no sitting next to one another,' they added. Another insider claimed that the Prince of Wales' camp 'insisted his seat reflect his future role as king.' Therefore, the arrangement seemingly clarifies that his younger brother's position in the hierarchy is 'beneath his.' Meanwhile, Prince Harry's team has similar suggestions about the arrangements at the royal wedding. The Duke of Sussex wants to avoid being a part of any 'fake PR reunion.' 'He's not interested in pretending things are fine when they're not,' a source close to him said. Furthermore, an acquaintance from the family also pointed out that the two brothers would be under the same roof but 'not in the same frame.' Additionally, Phillips' friend chipped in, saying that the groom hoped that his important day would be a 'celebration, not tension.' The feud between William and Harry has often made headlines. Recently, a report suggested that the aides of the Duke of Sussex and King Charles met in London, which might have disappointed the eldest son. Apparently, the 76-year-old father wished to reconcile with the youngest and bring him and Meghan Markle back home. What Conrad and Laurel Scene Means for Belly in ‘TSITP'
Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty continued its streak of bringing key book moments to life this week, this time with a heart-wrenching Laurel and Conrad scene. Now, TSITP star Jackie Chung is breaking down the iconic moment and hinting at what that Conrad and Laurel scene could mean for Belly's future. 'I was looking forward to this one,' Jackie said in an interview with People. 'I look for those book moments [in the script], and I remember reading this Conrad scene in the book and just thinking, 'Ooh, I love this one.'' In the scene, Conrad convinces Laurel to support Belly and Jeremiah's wedding, even though he's obviously still in love with Belly, because he wants her to be happy, prompting Laurel to ask Conrad when he gets to be happy. (Insert broody Conrad here.) Jackie, who has played Laurel for three seasons, explained Laurel's motivations in the scene, saying, 'I do think she recognizes that he has feelings for Belly.' She continued, 'And I think she's pushing him a little to open up and let them out, so that he can be happy and not just harbor these feelings and bury them.' But make no mistake—just because Laurel is encouraging Conrad doesn't mean she wants him marrying her daughter, either. 'I really feel firmly about this, that Laurel is Team Belly,' Jackie said. 'She does not want her to get married at this point in her life—to anyone. She wants her to grow and mature first.' Still, Jackie admits that Laurel and Conrad's conversation could lead to Conrad actually fighting for Belly in future episodes. 'I see how her being like, 'Hey, find your happiness, Conrad,' could lead to him mucking things up for Jeremiah and Belly.' Oh, and while chatting with People, she also talked about *those* Laurel and Susannah romance rumors. When asked whether she thought her character might be more than platonic soulmates with Susannah, Jackie admitted, 'It never crossed my mind.' According to her, it's 'rare to see this kind of love on screen where these women just wholly support each other and care about each other and have a decades-long friendship,' so she can see why fans might get it twisted. As she explained, 'I can understand how people could interpret it that way, I guess. But yeah, no, I just always saw it as a really, really deep friendship.'
