Battlefield 6 lead producer says 'large maps exist,' confirming the full game will offer bigger battles than the beta's cramped, chaotic firefights
Aside from a few moments of conspicuously instantaneous death, I had a great time with the first Battlefield 6 beta weekend. The guns largely felt lovely, I got a 16-killstreak as a tank gunner, and I watched someone drive a jeep covered in C4 into an enemy anti-air gun. That all hits. My main complaint about the beta, however, is that the smaller scale maps meant it was hitting too much, too fast.
Luckily, Battlefield Studios has heard the concerns of players like me who prefer a more sprawling scale of Battlefield, and Dice's lead BF producer David Sirland says we can expect bigger maps where fights aren't only ever cranked to 11.
Posting on X, Sirland said the selection of maps in the first BF6 beta weekend was chosen as a showcase for how Battlefield 6 is being designed to accommodate faster-paced combat—not just the pace already enjoyed by cool, strong, and incredibly brave individuals.
"We picked these maps to make sure we hit the full-octane version of Battlefield on the head—and made everyone see we can handle that too," Sirland said. "Large maps exist, and the tempo scales accordingly, you'll be able to see soon enough!"
That's music to my ears, because I've always come to Battlefield for the maps that give battles room to breathe. My ideal game of Conquest is one with an arc: I like the tense, quiet moments between pushes and the edge-of-map skirmishes as much as the all-out assaults. The beta's maps were plenty fun, but strung back to back, they left me yearning for the less exhausting version of Battlefield.
That line of thinking sadly wasn't convincing for the dude who told me in a beta match on Iberian Offensive that "bigger maps don't make sense." I'm not sure what makes more sense about feeling like you're being repeatedly kicked in the head on Siege of Cairo, but I wish him well. I'll be anywhere else.
Unfortunately, we probably won't be seeing Battlefield 6's biggest maps in the second open beta weekend: Battlefield Studios says it'll be adding the Empire State map and the Rush mode to the beta matchmaking pool, but Empire State's lack of vehicles and focus on verticality will probably make for more dense firefights.Ah, well. It's not that long of a wait for the full Battlefield 6 launch on October 10.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle fans are not too happy about Channing Tatum being cast in the English-language version of the anime film
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. As new anime movie Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle continues to rule over the Japanese box office, Channing Tatum's casting in the upcoming English-language version has left many Demon Slayer fans confused. The Deadpool & Wolverine star has been cast as Keizo in the English dubbed version of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle. However, many anime fans believe that the casting is not fair to other voice actors in the industry, and feel that Taum has only been cast because he is a big Hollywood name. "There are some [English-language voice actors] who are not happy that Channing Tatum was cast in the latest Demon Slayer movie... and the complaints are 100% valid," said one fan on Twitter (X). "Any VA would and should feel slighted when a big-name actor is cast in an anime role, especially in a movie as big as Infinity Castle." It seems like other fans feel the same, as one replied, "Love Channing Tatum... I just feel this is kinda a slap in the face to everyone else." Another added, "This might potentially be the start of US dubbing companies phasing out actual experienced anime dub actors for Hollywood talent. And that would be a very bad thing." However, other Demon Slayer heads feel that Tatum, who is a fan of the series, deserves a chance. After all, the star is only in a minor role. "But what if he does a completely fine and normal job at it?" pointed out one fan. It is important to note that big actors being cast in anime projects is no new thing, with Robert Pattinson starring in The Boy and the Heron, and Star Wars actor Mark Hamill appearing in the anime series Immortal Grand Prix, just to name two examples. Tatum joins the original English dub voice cast from the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series, including Zach Aguilar as Tanjiro Kamado, Abby Trott as Nezuko Kamado, Aleks Le as Zenitsu Agatsuma, Bryce Papenbrook as Inosuke Hashibira, Johnny Yong Bosch as Giyu Tomikoa and Erika Harlacher as Shinobu Kocho. Directed by Haruo Sotozaki, the movie is the first of an upcoming trilogy based on the Infinity Castle arc from the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga. The film follows demon slayer Tanjiro Kamado as he faces his biggest challenge yet when he is plunged into a demon's stronghold known as the Infinity Castle in a bid to save the head of the Corps. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle will hit US and UK cinemas on September 12, 2025. It's no Dune sandworm, but Demon Slayer is getting in on the popcorn fun with this Infinity Castle bucket
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Thought the popcorn bucket fad was fizzling out? Think again. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle now has its own snack vessel for fans to buy, complete with some appropriate theming and gorgeous character art from the new anime movie. Right now, the only official Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle popcorn bucket is available at Golden Screen Cinemas in Malaysia ahead of the movie's release in the region. As you can see below, the bucket is adorned with official art of both Tanjiro in full flow, as well as ally Zenitsu. To top it all off (quite literally) is an LED lid that mimics the demonic headquarters of the Infinity Castle. Thankfully, you'll find sweets and treats inside instead of the Upper Rank army. Hopefully, other cinema chains in both the US and UK will follow suit with their own Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle popcorn buckets when the film hits those shores in September. From Dune to Deadpool and Wolverine to even the likes of Jurassic World: Rebirth, popcorn buckets have been the hot topic in cinemas for the past couple of years. It's even reached a more luxury tier, with the Galactus popcorn bucket for Fantastic Four: First Steps reaching an eye-watering $80. "I'd prefer it if it looked like me," Galactus actor Ralph Ineson previously told GamesRadar+ of the popcorn bucket. "But yeah, that feels really strange, to be honest. I'm not gonna lie." Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle releases in UK and US cinemas on September 12, with an early release planned for some Crunchyroll members. Today's Quordle Hints (and Answer) for Sunday, August 17, 2025
If you're looking for the Quordle answer for Sunday, August 17, 2025, read on—I'll share some clues, tips, and strategies, and finally the solution. Beware, there are spoilers below for August 17, Quordle #1301! Keep scrolling if you want some hints (and then the answer) to today's Quordle game. (If you play Wordle, Connections, or Strands, check out our hints for those games, too.) How to play Quordle Quordle lives on the Merriam-Webster website. A new puzzle goes live every day. If you've never played, it's a twist on The New York Times' daily Wordle game, in which you have a limited number of attempts to guess a five-letter mystery word. In Quordle, though, you're simultaneously solving four Wordle-style puzzles, and each of your guesses gets applied to the four puzzles simultaneously. Due to the increased difficulty, Quordle grants you nine guesses (12 if you play on 'Chill' mode, or eight if you play on 'Extreme'), rather than Wordle's six. To start, guess a five-letter word. The letters of the word in each of the four quadrants will turn green if they're correct, yellow if you have the right letter in the wrong place, or gray if the letter isn't in that secret word at all. Ready for the hints? Let's go! Can you give me a hint for today's Quordle? Upper left: Be sure you can identify them before you eat them. Upper right: A friendly dynamic. Lower left: Household appliance. Lower right: Comes at the end of a meal. Does today's Quordle have any double or repeated letters? Upper left: No. Upper right: No. Lower left: Yes, a repeated consonant. Lower right: Yes, a repeated consonant. What letters do today's Quordle words start with? Upper left: F Upper right: A Lower left: D Lower right: C What letters do today's Quordle words end with? Upper left: I Upper right: Y Lower left: R Lower right: K What is the solution to today's Quordle? Upper left: FUNGI Upper right: AMITY Lower left: DRIER Lower right: CHECK How I solved today's Quordle SLATE and MOUND are my starter words, which don't help me all that much today. But I guess a gray tile gives me just as much info as a yellow or green tile, I just have to think a little harder. I'll try BIRCH for a whole new batch of letters. The upper right might be AMITY. Yep! I think the bottom right is CHECK. Yes. The bottom left might be DRIVE. Close. It's either DRIED or DRIER. Oh, it has to be DRIER because the D can't be in last position. Yes. I thought the upper left might be UNION, but that doesn't work. UNZIP? Nope. Wow, this is a tough one. Oh, FUNGI? Yes! The best starter words for Quordle What should you play for that first guess? We can look to Wordle for some general guidelines. The best starters tend to contain common letters, to increase the chances of getting yellow and green squares to guide your guessing. (And if you get all grays when guessing common letters, that's still excellent information to help you rule out possibilities.) There isn't a single 'best' starting word, but The New York Times's Wordle analysis bot has suggested starting with one of these: CRANE TRACE SLANT CRATE CARTE Meanwhile, an MIT analysis found that you'll eliminate the most possibilities in the first round by starting with one of these: SALET REAST TRACE CRATE SLATE Other good picks might be ARISE or ROUND. Words like ADIEU and AUDIO get more vowels in play, but you could argue that it's better to start with an emphasis on consonants, using a starter like RENTS or CLAMP. Choose your strategy, and see how it plays out. Solve the daily Crossword
