Female wrestlers unhappy with WWE's idea for a successful Evolution 2025 not going according to plan

Evolution 2025 is happening next week over the weekend on Sunday, July 13. The all-women's professional wrestling pay-per-view event will be produced by
WWE
, and be available for live streaming on Netflix.
Already quite a few matches have been confirmed so far, but one thing that the management did not anticipate was how the fans are responding to the event.
While the first show was a big hit, and fans had been truly anticipating a return of the all-women's show, things are not working out well; with quite a few other big events already taking place around the same time.
WWE Evolution 2025
is facing some issues
The 2025 Evolution will be held at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, and the current setup of there for the event is a total of 6,652 seats.
With only a week in hand, only 4,804 tickets have been distributed as of 4 July 2025, which means 1,578 tickets are still unsold, according to WrestleTix on X (formerly Twitter). This is especially noticeable given that the next WWE Saturday Night Main Event, which will be held the day before Evolution on July 12, Saturday, has already sold 10,731 tickets.
This could be one of the reasons that Evolution ticket sales are low, as people would prefer to attend SNME over the all-women's event, even though the match cards confirmed so far are pretty interesting. From Rhea Ripley vs IYO Sky to
Nikki Bella
challenging
Ronda Rousey
to Tiffany Stratton and Trish Stratus going from friends to foes after their Tag Team win at the 2025 Elimination Chamber.
Tiffany Stratton & Trish Stratus vs. Nia Jax & Candice LeRae: Elimination Chamber 2025 highlights
Another reason for low ticket sales could be Beyonce's Cowboy Carter Tour, which will be in Atlanta, Georgia from July 10 to 14 for four shows, with July 12 being the break day. Thus, SNME, which is also being held at the State Farm Arena, has the conveniently placed date not coinciding with the tour dates, but
Evolution
on the other hand, is being impacted by it. This has become yet another issue for the event, which was already seeing low ticket sales.
If WWE cannot come up with something in the meantime, things are not looking up for Evolution 2025.
Women wrestling stars are dismayed over the Evolution mishap
On Fightful's The Hump, host Sean Ross Sapp said that the female wrestlers in
WWE
are not too happy with how the company is treating the event, Having an all-women's event was a big step for female wrestlers and wrestling in general. But seeing that even after a successful show back in 2018, such less importance is being given in planning the second event after a 5+ years gap, many have expressed their dismay over the turn of events.
'So a lot of the women that I was speaking to felt... a lot of them felt like it was set up. One, it was put in against All In weekend, across the street from a Beyoncé concert, during MLB All-Star weekend, when a lot of the hotels were going to be bought up in the area. They weren't necessarily thrilled with that, but it was hastily produced.'

Women wrestling stars are not happy with the approach WWE has taken in producing the event so hastily after a 7 years gap in between. And with so many other events taking place at the same time, it was bound to impact Evolution, but WWE did not take any of that into account while planning the event, and the event is suffering because of that.

'I'm pissed off at the way I went out': Goldberg reflects on disappointing retirement match against Gunther at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event

Goldberg (Image Source: Getty) WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg is disappointed following what would be his final match at Saturday Night's Main Event XL. The 58-year-old wrestling legend was expecting to walk out of a retirement bout this past weekend with his head held high, only to leave the ring feeling disrespected instead of celebrated after his showdown with Gunther. Goldberg told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour that he was very upset about how his iconic career came to an end. In a candid and emotionally charged moment, Goldberg said: "Let's just say I'm pissed off at the way I went out. I put so much into it, and I don't feel as though the effort was reciprocated to put a stamp on what I've accomplished.' Criticism directed at match build-up and execution It was billed as a class, and fans were expecting a seismic showdown, but while it was physical and competitive, the match never really had the epic conclusion that many had hoped for. Although Goldberg appeared to be in remarkable shape and had fantastic cardio, the pacing and story of the match lacked the weight of a retirement from someone of his stature. Others have blamed WWE's booking, claiming they did not give the venerated veteran the emotional payoff and respect a star of his stature deserved, while not holding back on criticism of Gunther's performance. As if that wasn't enough, Goldberg's farewell right after his match was suddenly interrupted on live television. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like You Can Make Massive Side Income By Learning Order Flow Analysis TradeWise Learn More Undo However, other reports stated that WWE experienced timing issues during the show earlier in the night, which caused the broadcast to cut off just as Goldberg began speaking. The millions watching at home, meanwhile, were not gifted a proper goodbye; he finished the speech for the live audience. He suggested that there were plans aplenty to fulfill outside the ring, including a family get-together, as well as pursuing various media opportunities in the pipeline. But his statements to Helwani made clear that this was not the sendoff he imagined for a decades-long career and multiple pro wrestling promotions. For fans, this moment marks the close of an age. For Goldberg, the pain of an unceremonious exit may last forever, but so too will the craftsmanship of a man who created the blueprints for present-day pro wrestling. 'Means the world': Charlotte Flair speaks her heart out following the massive WWE reception

Charlotte Flair reveals her best takeaway from Evolution: Image via Getty Charlotte Flair doesn't demand attention; she claims it like royalty. The Queen didn't show up in the ring that frequently before 2025 set sail. She was out with an injury for over a year since her match against Asuka in December 2023. But her re-advent was all but ordinary. She won the WWE Royal Rumble to start the year on a high note. But Charlotte's heel turn didn't sit well with the fans for obvious reasons. One who used to be the most cherished face of the company, loves kids, and grins unfiltered, suddenly walking in a villain's shoes isn't what the fans could process well to date. But what evolution did to them was a sweet UNO reverse. Charlotte Flair pays gratitude to the fans Charlotte Flair is forever comfortable staying in her own lane. She doesn't have a very good record of tagging in with others. But since her return, Alexa Bliss got under her skin, approaching her to join hands for the shared good. But the younger Flair stayed bull-headed in her pattern. Two weeks back, blue brand GM Nick Aldis managed to convince her that a witty coalition with Bliss might carve her way out to the title scene the fastest. Charlotte took a U-turn and decided to go in pairs. Both of them managed to earn a shot at WWE Women's Tag Team Championship at Evolution, but fell short to sustain against Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez. But what they got instead was priceless. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like An engineer reveals: One simple trick to get internet without a subscription Techno Mag Learn More Undo 'We want Charlotte' : the unbridled pops resonated through the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, loud and proud. Now, it's time for the Queen to look back at it with a heart full of gratitude. Fans were buzzing about how the crowd stole the show and how they felt emotional about it. Flair, sharing the same emotion, may be, with some greater intensity, dished out some random replies to the users. In one comment, 'It meant everything to me' with a sobbing eye emoji. In another post, where a user expressed how she felt thrilled to bits seeing the crowd go insane for Flair, the woman herself endorsed saying, "Me too". Dave Meltzer reveals the twist in Charlotte Flair But it begs the obvious question: what led fans to change their minds drastically? That infamous Chicago night is still fresh in the memory. Is it just Alexa Bliss or anything else they found worthy about Flair's Evolution stint? Well, Dave Meltzer knows it best. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave explained that there's more to the story than just the charm of a fresh union of Bliss-Flair. ''This is not a usual crowd. It's not the city, it's the nature of the crowd. Women don't hate Charlotte Flair, guys hate Charlotte Flair, that's the thing. This was a far more women's crowd, that's all. Whether she'll get cheered on SmackDown on Friday, I don't know. It was a very different crowd – it's not the city, it's the makeup," he said. So, what's loading for Daddy's little girl? Is she on her way to embrace that 'good guy' image again? Well, not even a single hint yet, but she loves to be in good grace and, rest, you better know. Also read: 'I looked. I touched.
