Grievances related to land issues high in Vizag, says Revenue Minister
He was in the city on Monday to participate in the weekly grievance programme at the Collectorate as part of the government programme — Suparipalanalo Tholi Adugu (Initiative of Good Governance). He received complaints directly from the people and interacted with them at the programme.
Later, speaking to media persons on the occasion, Mr. Prasad said that the State government is keeping a close watch on land grabbing issues, and will provide justice to the victims and punish the accused. He said that private lands should not be placed under 22 (A), but it happened during the previous government. The coalition government with Nara Chandrababu Naidu as the Chief Minister is giving utmost priority to the welfare of the people and also the development of the State, he added.
'Grievances related to land-related issues such as land grabbing, encroachments are high in Visakhapatnam and people are complaining about these issues in the weekly grievance redressal programme. We are preparing a detailed report on land grabbing and encroachments and will soon release this report to the public,' Mr. Satya Prasad said.
He said that the government is taking all steps to resolve the long-pending land issue of Panchagramalu in Simhachalam, adding that he had also reminded Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on this matter.
He said that there is a lot of scope for development of Information Technology in Visakhapatnam. He said that the much-awaited Visakhapatnam Metro Rail project will also be fulfilled and work will start soon and steps are being taken to stop encroachments along the coast as per the guidelines of the Coastal Zone Management Board.

Hyderabad: A 25-year-old worker from Telangana is facing a travel ban in Dubai after a bank account in his name was allegedly misused by two individuals. The family of the victim, M Ganga Prasad from Velpur in Nizamabad district, approached 'Pravasi Prajavani' on July 25 and addressed a letter to chief minister A Revanth Reddy outlining the problem he is facing. "We have taken up the issue with the police, acting on the complaint made by the family, which has named two individuals from Telangana itself in connection with the fraud. When the landlord did not receive rent for a period, he approached the police. It was on April 13, 2025, while Prasad was returning to India, that he was stopped at the airport by immigration authorities. He subsequently approached the Sharjah police on April 15 and was informed that a case had been filed against him concerning a tenancy dispute. Prasad was taken into custody and produced before the court. He paid AED 4,000 immediately and was released on bail. "However, he is still liable to pay AED 23,000 (approximately 5.4 lakh) to settle the case and have the travel ban lifted," Prasad's father, M Bojanna, stated in the letter to CM A Revanth Reddy seeking assistance. Prasad's brother, M Sai Prasad, told STOI that they had also submitted a representation to the Nizamabad police, urging them to take action against the alleged job agents who defrauded his brother. As he didn't have a job, Prasad supported himself by working as a cook, his brother added. Andhra Minister Anagani inaugurates Rs 10 crore Velaturu Aqueduct project
GUNTUR: In a significant development for the agriculture sector, Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad inaugurated the newly constructed Velaturu Aqueduct across the Bhattiprolu Main Drain in the Krishna Western Delta region on Friday. The Rs 10.75 crore aqueduct replaces a decades-old collapsed structure that had disrupted irrigation in parts of the Vemuru and Repalle constituencies. Accompanied by Collector J Venkata Murali and Vemuru MLA Nakka Anand Babu, Minister Satya Prasad performed rituals at Velaturu channel before releasing Krishna River water through five sluice gates. Completed in 75 days, the aqueduct will irrigate 31,675 acres in the two constituencies. Satya Prasad credited Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for promptly sanctioning funds when the issue was raised, saying the new structure would ensure farmers do not lose their kharif crops.
