BJP MP Ravi Kishan gives Samosa example to demand law to regulate food prices
During the Zero Hour, Ravi Kishan said there is no uniformity of prices of single food items or dishes and quality. "Somewhere you get a Samosa at X rate in a dhaba while it is served at Y price point," he said adding, the size of samosas also vary.

The lawmaker said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought in many transformative changes but this segment has not got its due attention.
"Therefore, I demand that the government bring a law to regulate prices of food items, their quality and quantity so that customers get them at affordable prices," he said.
Another BJP MP, Damodar Damodar Agarwal, raised the issue of illegal mining and blasting done by Jindal Saw Ltd in his constituency, Bhilwara, Rajasthan. He alleged that illegal mining had caused ecological destruction and environmental pollution.
Agarwal claimed that the mining goes unabated despite intense protests and demanded the Centre take an action to stop it.

CHENNAI: Keeping his options open for alliance for facing 2026 election, former chief minister O Panneerselvam on Sunday directed his followers not to speculate about alliance. However, OPS asked his followers to expose the 'anti-Tamil Nadu activities of the central government' as well as the problems faced by the people from the DMK government. 'Our bilateral relationships with various countries stand on their own merit and should not be seen from the prism of a third country," the foreign ministry said, indirectly addressing the US. These strong words underscore the India-Russia friendship. Russian President Vladimir Putin is also set to visit India in the coming months, marking his first tour since 2021. Clearly, India is committed to maintaining its friendship with Russia much to Trump's frustration. TRADE DEAL STANDOFF Trump is also upset for another reason – the stalled trade deal. Modi has stood firm against him, refusing trade concessions and not yielding to pressure. This is despite the imposition of a 25 percent tariff on Indian imports starting August 7. India's message to Trump is clear: India-US relations have withstood numerous challenges and transitions. Delhi is not backing down. Top government sources said there will be no concessions on agriculture, no opening dairy to American firms, and a refusal of genetically modified crops or beef-based dairy. For India, farmers' interests are paramount. This is also a significant voter base. The government recalls the repeal of the three farm laws after massive protests in 2021. India is prepared to absorb the 0.2 percent GDP loss resulting from the 25 percent tariff, viewing it as manageable and minimal. India will patiently wait for the signing of a mini-deal by September or October. Until then, the focus is on standing firm and not compromising core interests for a few billion dollars. ‘A For Akhilesh, D For Dimple': SP Leader Booked For Teaching ‘Politicised Alphabet' To Students
Last Updated: According to a complaint, an SP leader was teaching children "A for Akhilesh", "D for Dimple" at a "PDA Pathshala", the video of which surfaced on social media. A local Samajwadi Party leader was booked in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur for allegedly teaching children 'politicised alphabet" in a 'PDA Pathshala", officials said. According to SP City Vyom Bindal, a complaint was filed by a resident of the Kallarpur Gurjar village – Main Singh – who alleged that SP leader Farhad Alam Gada taught children 'A for Akhilesh", 'B for Babasaheb", 'D for Dimple", and 'M for Mulayam Singh Yadav". The complainant described the lessons as 'politicised alphabets" at a 'PDA Pathshala". The incident came to the fore after a purported video of the class, which was recorded at Gada's home in Ramnagar, was posted on social media and went viral. In his defence, Farhad Gada had earlier said that the 'PDA Pathshala" was not just for teaching the basics like the ABCs but also to educate children about the 'great figures of Samajwadi ideology."
