Quarterback Sauce Gardner signed a 4-year, $120.4 million dollar deal.
That's $30.1 million per year.
He's the highest paid quarterback.
In NFL history.
I mean, I get how you end up there, but there's, there should be maybe a little bit concern, I guess, after how last year went for him.
I mean, I, I still think he's, can still be one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
I mean, everything up to, everything before last season to Jesse, he is one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
I mean, he was basically dominant in the first, uh, couple of seasons in there before everything fell apart, uh, for the Jets last season.

Yeah, what do you think about the fit with Sauce?
In this defense, it's it's a little hard to, I guess, pin down because Steve Wilkes is the defensive coordinator for Aaron Glenn, so, um, it's not just pure like let's copy paste what they did in Detroit, which was very man coverage heavy, but obviously coming off like a down season for him, what do we think about how he's going to be used in this defense specifically?
I just have to assume that some of these guys are gonna get back into the working order and Sauce can be one of them.
And basically what we saw from Aaron Glenn.
Uh, in Detroit, I know the, the defense did not end well because they had a bunch of injuries and, uh, we saw how many points they were getting up by the end of the season, but we've seen like those DBs have good moments while he was in Detroit, and none of them were as talented as Sauce Carter, so hopefully this is a, a marriage that works for everybody.

I think this could be like the best season of his career because typically my view with these like players.
That have down seasons, as long as you're not near the age cliff, which of course is not like an exact number, like typically the cheese isn't going bad there, like you can still get something good out of that player, so I think it's right to just reward these guys that were like good soldiers on really bad teams and hopefully they're gonna be part of the core of an era that turns it around here for the Jets.

Jerry Jones Claims He Received Death Threats When He Bought the Dallas Cowboys and Fired Coach Tom Landry

NEED TO KNOW Jerry Jones claimed that he received multiple death threats shortly after he bought the Dallas Cowboys in 1989 In the new Netflix docuseries America's Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys, the owner looks back on what happened after he fired legendary coach Tom Landry Jones hired his longtime friend and former teammate Jimmy Johnson as Landry's successor When Jerry Jones bought the Dallas Cowboys in February 1989 and then fired legendary head coach Tom Landry, virtually no one in the franchise's fandom was happy with the Arkansas oil man. Then, he installed himself as president and general manager — an unheard of move in the NFL — riling even more of the team's supporters. But none of his decisions in the early days of owning America's Team had prepared him for the extreme criticism from Cowboys Nation. 'I was Darth Vader,' Jones, 82, recalls in the new Netflix docuseries America's Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys. Jones told Arkansas state lawmakers at the time that he had received multiple death threats. 'They're serious about their football in the state of Texas, almost as much as we are in Arkansas,' he says in the doc. After Landry's firing, more than 100,000 people turned out for a parade through the streets of downtown Dallas to honor the Cowboys coach of 29 years. 'Jerry and the Jones family had broken into the museum and taken our most valuable possession,' former ABC affiliate WFAA-TV sportscaster Dale Hansen says in the doc, describing the affection fans had for the former coach. Looking back, even Jones confesses it may have been a rash decision to fire Landry — whose team notched a 3-13 record during his final season in 1988. 'The firing of Coach Landry was certainly one of the great PR missteps, maybe of all time,' Jones says. 'Because I still wear that.' At a press conference later termed the Saturday Night Massacre — a reference to the Watergate scandal — Jones announced his intentions with the team. One day later, he fired Landry and named longtime friend and fellow University of Arkansas teammate Jimmy Johnson as the new coach of the Cowboys. Charlotte Jones Anderson, Jones' daughter and the team's executive vice president and chief brand officer, recalls thinking after the press conference, "What do we do?' Jones says he had no choice but to forge ahead. His team in Dallas — nicknamed the City of Hate due to President John F. Kennedy's 1963 assassination — was coming together, and that's when Jones truly laid it all on the line, he says. 'With all that hate, I could stop and cry or I could just keep going,' Jones says. 'But I'm not gonna take my marbles and go home. I can't, I burned all my ships when I landed." Yoel Romero gets date, opponent for BKFC debut

Yoel Romero has inked his bareknuckle boxing debut. The former UFC title challenger is set to make his first appearance for BKFC against Theo Doukas at BKFC 80 on Sept. 12 at Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Fla. The bout will be contested at heavyweight. The news of Romero's debut was announced by the promotion on Tuesday. Romero, 48, signed with BKFC in July. He was coming off two KO finishes competing in Mike Perry's Dirty Boxing Championship – which is a striking competition with small gloves but doesn't involve any grappling or groundwork. "The Soldier of God" is mainly known for his 10-year run in the UFC where he fought for the middleweight title multiple times and cemented himself as one of the world's best. After his UFC departure, Romero had a short stint with Bellator and PFL, going 3-2. Although now competing in bareknuckle boxing, Romero told MMA Junkie last month that he's still looking to continue his MMA career. Romero's opponent, Doukas, will also be making his BKFC debut. Doukas has competed four times in MMA, going 2-2. His two victories have come by way of stoppage. He last competed in MMA in April 2024 and was submitted in the second round. He's also 1-0 in boxing.
