Over 2 lakh take holy dip on last day of Saraswati Pushkaralu
BHUPALPALLY : More than two lakh pilgrims took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam on the last day of Saraswati Pushkaralu on Monday.
A ten-kilometre-long traffic jam caused panic among pilgrims trying to reach the Pushkar Ghat. However, the police and Endowments department authorities cleared the traffic on the main road to make way.
To facilitate transportation, TGSRTC officials operated a special shuttle service from various locations to the ghat for pilgrims.
During the night, a group of priests from Varanasi (Kashi) offered the Saraswati Navaratna Mala Harathi, marking the conclusion of Pushkaralu. Later, district administration authorities organised a drone show at the ghats.
State Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao and Dharmapuri MLA and Government Whip Aduluri Laxman Kumar took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam. Following this, they visited the Kaleshwara Mukteeshwara Swamy temple and performed rituals for Lord Shiva. The temple also witnessed an overwhelming turnout of pilgrims.
Jayashankar Bhupalpally District Collector Rahul Sharma and Superintendent of Police Kiran Khare took precautionary measures to ensure a smooth and peaceful conclusion to Pushkaralu.

Amarnath Yatra Reduced To 38 Days Amid Tightened Security Measures. Check Details
Last Updated: A total of 581 companies from various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) alongside personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police would be deployed during the Amarnath Yatra 2025. The duration of the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, the holy cave shrine of Lord Shiva in Jammu and Kashmir, has been reduced to 38 days for the first time, compared to 52 days last year. The annual pilgrimage would commence from July 3 and would culminate on August 9 with added security. A total of 581 companies from various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) alongside personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police would be deployed during the Amarnath Yatra 2025. This extensive security has been deployed to ensure the safe passage of devotees during the sacred journey. Security Measures For the first time, jammers would be installed to protect the convoys from potential threats. During the passage of the convoy, all roads leading to the Yatra routes and National Highways will be temporarily blocked to ensure maximum security. Satellite phones will be provided to security personnel. Pilgrims and pony riders will be monitored using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Dedicated PCR vans from the police and CRPF will accompany the yatra. A security audit and digital mapping of all routes have been carried out. The Director General of CRPF personally visited Pahalgam to review the arrangements. In addition to these measures, a comprehensive deployment will include Road Opening Parties (ROPs) to secure and clear the routes, Quick Action Teams (QATs) for immediate response to threats, Bomb Disposal Squads (BDS) will detect and neutralise explosives, and K9 units (specially trained sniffer dogs) and drones will be used for aerial surveillance. These arrangements will be in place on both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes to the Amarnath Cave shrine. On May 30, Union Home Minister Amit Shah instructed all security agencies to maintain high alertness and vigilance to ensure a completely peaceful Amarnath Yatra. In light of recent concerns, particularly the Pahalgam attack, security arrangements have been tightened. So far, over 3.5 lakh people have registered for this year's Amarnath Yatra. The cave houses a naturally formed ice Shivling, believed to represent Lord Shiva, and draws lakhs of devotees every year. Masula Beach festival begins today
All arrangements are in place for the four-day Machilipatnam Beach Festival, starting today at the Manginapudi beach in Krishna district. District Collector D.K. Balaji and Superintendent of Police R. Gangadhar Rao visited the venue on Wednesday to inspect and review the arrangements made for water games and sports, including beach Kabaddi, volleyball, and kayaking. They also inspected the various structures, including the 80-foot Amaravati Mukha Dwaram, erected on the beach for the occasion. The festival will begin in the morning, and sports and games will take place in the afternoon, the Collector said. Medical camps have been set up with necessary medicines; an ambulance and fire engine have been kept on standby. The highlight of the festival is the national-level kayaking games, which are being held for the first time at the beach festival. In this event, 25 teams from 25 States are participating. Additionally, 20 national teams will compete in the beach kabaddi event, and 12 teams will compete in the State-level volleyball competition.
