Brett Weitz Exits As Head Of Content, Talent & Brand Sales For X

Yahoo28-04-2025
EXCLUSIVE: Brett Weitz has departed X where he served as Global Head of Content, Talent and Brand Sales since September 2023.
The former General Manager Of TNT, TBS & truTV was a driving force behind X's Originals group. Amid ongoing turbulence and controversies surrounding the social media platform owned by Elon Musk, Weitz and his team developed and launched 15 original series, with a focus on sports and lifestyle. They include All In: Boston Celtics, which followed the Boston super squad through their championship journey, and The Off Season, a documentary-style series showcasing the off-season training of 11 NWSL players.

Weitz also led X into the video podcast space with Khloé Kardashian's Khloé in Wonderland and other projects in the pipeline. Additionally, he worked closely with major leagues, studios, and production companies on brand engagement with an emphasis on real-time, reactive partnerships.
It is unclear yet what Weitz will do next; he may stay in the area of connecting creators to consumers. As for his role at X, it likely won't be filled, with his responsibilities divided up, I hear.
Before joining X, Weitz, a respected veteran TV executive, spent 14 years at Turner, rising to General Manager Of TNT, TBS, & truTV.

Guggenheim Reiterates Sell on Tesla (TSLA) Despite FSD and Robotaxi Updates

Tesla, Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) is one the On August 12, Guggenheim analyst Ronald Jewsikow reiterated a Sell rating on the stock with a $175.00 price target. The firm said that it is sticking with its sell rating and that it is cautious on the company's full self-driving. CEO Elon Musk unveiled some important updates around both the Robotaxi operations in Austin and the upcoming FSD model. The updates were made in a series of posts on X over the weekend. While Tesla shares 'somewhat paradoxically' rallied on the news, names like Uber and Lyft who were previously sensitive to Tesla autonomy, did too. The firm considers this as 'mixed signals from the market.' Hadrian / 'On the Robotaxi operations in Austin, CEO Musk indicated it would be open to the public next month, which we believe is earlier than investor expectations and a sign of confidence in the service and feedback from the invite-only riders to date. We believe the expanded FSD model has positive implications for bulls focused on the potential for TSLAs fleet eventually becoming Robotaxis (positive read on inference compute), and the opening of the Austin Robotaxi experience to the public is a key step on the growth path of inviting a potentially more critical set of consumers. While safety drivers will remain, and no timeline has been provided for their removal, bulls have been willing to overlook the optics of safety drivers in TSLA vehicles, and we see no reason why that would change now.' Tesla, Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) is an automotive and clean energy company that leverages advanced artificial intelligence in its autonomous driving technology and robotics initiatives. While we acknowledge the potential of TSLA as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. Trump easing environmental rules for space companies

Energy & Environment The Big Story Trump wants to cut environmental reviews for space industry President Trump signed an executive order Wednesday easing regulations for commercial rocket launches and spaceport development, in a move likely to boost Elon Musk's SpaceX. The order calls for eliminating or expediting environmental reviews for rocket launches. It also seeks to evaluate state and local restrictions on spaceport development, in addition to expediting environmental and administrative reviews for building the infrastructure for launches. 'Ensuring that United States operators can efficiently launch, conduct missions in space, and reenter United States airspace is critical to economic growth, national security, and accomplishing Federal space objectives,' Trump's order reads. It aims to 'substantially' increase commercial space launches and 'novel space activities' by the end of the decade. Environmental advocates were immediately wary of the move. The Center for Biological Diversity slammed the order as 'reckless,' arguing it puts people and wildlife at risk from rockets that often explode and 'wreak devastation on surrounding areas.' 'Bending the knee to powerful corporations by allowing federal agencies to ignore bedrock environmental laws is incredibly dangerous and puts all of us in harm's way,' Jared Margolis, a senior attorney at the Center for Biological Diversity, said in a statement. 'This is clearly not in the public interest.' The order will likely be a boon to Musk's SpaceX, one of the biggest players in the commercial space industry. The spacecraft and satellite communications firm has conducted more than 100 launches so far this year. xAI Cofounder Says He Learned 2 Major Lessons From Elon Musk

Igor Babuschkin co-founded xAI in 2023 and announced his departure on X on Wednesday. Igor Babuschkin announced this week that he is leaving the company he helped cofound with Elon Musk to start his own company focused on AI safety research. Babuschkin posted the news on X, which is owned by xAI, Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company. "Today was my last day at xAI, the company that I helped start with Elon Musk in 2023," he wrote. "I still remember the day I first met Elon. We talked for hours about AI and what the future might hold." David Paul Morris/Bloomberg | Getty Images Babuschkin wrote that "through blood, sweat, and tears," they "shipped frontier models faster than any company in history," and during the process, he earned two "priceless" lessons from Musk. 1. Be fearless "Be fearless in rolling up your sleeves to personally dig into technical problems," he wrote. Babuschkin noted that Musk personally worked with the team, flying to a data center and staying all night until the issues were fixed. 2. Have a "maniacal" sense of urgency "xAI executes at ludicrous speed," he wrote. "Industry veterans told us that building the Memphis supercluster in 120 days would be impossible. But we believed we could do the impossible." Today was my last day at xAI, the company that I helped start with Elon Musk in 2023. I still remember the day I first met Elon, we talked for hours about AI and what the future might hold. We both felt that a new AI company with a different kind of mission was needed.
