Filming in Edinburgh this week
Actor Glen Powell was filming on Wednesday night in Candlemaker Row for JJ Abrams upcoming sci-fi film Ghostwriter.
Powell is American and recently played Lieutenant Jake 'Hangman' Seresin in Top Gun: Maverick.
The area near the Grassmarket where crews were filming was turned into a futuristic and dystopian street with atmospheric lighting.
The film also stars Acting legend Samuel L. Jackson along side Wednesday lead Jenna Ortega and Sex Education's Emma Mackey.
If you are wondering what else has been filmed in Edinburgh the list is long and includes Avengers: Infinity War, Fast & Furious 9, Outlander and Outlaw King in recent years. Department Q the most recent Netflix crime thriller was filmed and set in Edinburgh basing itself at FirstStage Studios in Leith.
The studio extends to 8.5 acres and is self-contained with 24/7 security. It was also the site for filming and production of The Rig, the creation of Portobello based writer David MacPherson.

And that also was inspired by a conversation with Lewis. So his involvement has been amazing. And we couldn't make the film without him.' Pitt's fictional rookie team-mate Joshua Pearce is played by British actor Damson Idris. Filming has taken place across multiple races over the last two seasons, and F1 chiefs hope the movie will follow the popularity of Netflix's Drive To Survive series in cracking America.

American mum Paige Wester, who is now living in England, has gone viral after demonstrating just how different the US and UK are when it comes to certain supermarket items An American mum residing in the UK was left utterly baffled after comparing a Tesco store to supermarkets in the US. For us Brits, roaming around a Walmart and stacking up on never-seen-before sweets and chocolates is actually pretty fun, and perhaps it's the same for Americans shopping at Tesco or Sainbsury's for the first-ever time. Paige Wester, who is a mum to a toddler and expecting her second child, recently took to TikTok to reveal one key difference she spotted in supermarkets since arriving in England. "Let me just show you how cheap baby products actually are." Paige compares a pack of 60 Tesco-owned nappies (which she refers to as diapers) for £6.50, while a more premium band costs £5.50 for a 44-pack. In the US, a 56-pack of Huggies Little Movers nappies at Walmart costs $28.22 (which works out at around £20.71). "Like that is so cheap," she added. "Just a single pack of wipes is 55p." Again, in the US a similar product costs around $3 (£2.22) which is more than four times the price. "Now we're going to go to the baby formula because this will actually blow your mind," Paige said, pointing to a large tub of Kendamil formula. "This brand in America I think is like $35 and here it's £12..." "Now I'm going to show you like toddler snacks, pouches, and all that stuff. I love this Ella's Kitchen brand and for just one pouch it's £1.30. Baby food is just 80p per jar. Adjoa Andoh says MBE for drama an ‘especial delight' as a British-Ghanaian
Bridgerton star Adjoa Andoh has said being made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) is an 'especial delight' as a British-Ghanaian. The 62-year-old actress, who was born in Bristol in 1963 to a British mother and Ghanaian father, has been recognised for her services to drama. She told the PA news agency: 'How fabulous! The King loves engaging with people across the world and loves the arts, and so, as the daughter of English and Ghanaian children of Empire, it is an especial delight to be a part of his Birthday Honours List, as an MBE for services to the arts. 'I'm humbled and honoured to be included.' Andoh is most known for playing Lady Agatha Danbury, who is considered one of the most powerful women in London high society, in the Regency era-inspired romance series Bridgerton. In the Netflix show her character is known as a straight shooter, unconcerned with the rules of polite society. The actress has also appeared in BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who on a number of occasions with the first appearance in 2006 as Sister Jatt in series two episode New Earth. She went on to play Nurse Albertine in Doctor Who audio drama Year Of The Pig, and in 2007, she appeared in several episodes of the third series as Francine Jones, the mother of Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman). She has also appeared in episodes of medical drama Casualty, and in CBBC children's spy show MI High. On the stage she has appeared in productions including Richard II at Shakespeare's Globe, Troilus And Cressida with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), and Great Expectations at the Bristol Old Vic. In 2009, she made her Hollywood debut as Nelson Mandela's chief of staff Brenda Mazibuko in Clint Eastwood's film Invictus, which starred Morgan Freeman as Mandela. Her other film credits include roles in TV movie A Rather English Marriage (1998), teenage crime drama Adulthood (2008) and comedy drama Brighton (2019).
