Climate Justice: Who Will Pay the Price? Op-ed
As the impacts of climate change escalate globally, a crucial question demands attention: Who is responsible, and who should pay the price?
Industrialized nations, which have built their modern prosperity on decades of burning coal, oil, and gas, bear the greatest responsibility for accumulated carbon emissions. In contrast, many developing nations — which have contributed very little — are suffering the harshest consequences in the form of drought, desertification, and extreme weather events.
This is where the concept of climate justice becomes essential. It calls for wealthier countries to accept historical responsibility — not only by reducing their emissions but also by financially and technologically supporting developing nations as they adapt to climate change and transition to clean energy.
COP30 must become a turning point for activating real climate finance mechanisms and ensuring that no community is left behind. This is a global crisis, and no country will be safe unless we act together.

120 al-Shabaab Militants Killed in Operation in Somalia
Israa Farhan Somalia's Defense Minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi has announced that more than 120 al-Shabaab militants were killed and several others wounded in large-scale military operations in the Lower Shabelle region in the country's south. Speaking at a press conference late Friday, Fiqi hailed the Somali National Army's success and vowed that the fight against terrorism would continue until the country is completely free of extremist threats. The operations were conducted by Somali troops in coordination with Ugandan Defense Forces, part of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS). According to the Somali National News Agency (SONNA), the joint forces targeted key militant hideouts, capturing all major strongholds in the area. Turkish FM Praises Egypts Role in Gaza Aid Efforts
H-Tayea Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has praised Egypt's pivotal role in delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, stressing that Ankara will continue to work closely with Cairo to ensure aid reaches those in need. Speaking at a joint press conference with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdel Aati in New Alamein City, Fidan underscored that Turkey and Egypt will oppose any attempt to forcibly remove Palestinians from their homes. Pakistan's Khawaja Asif Dismisses Indian Air Force Claims Over Operation Sindoor
By Ahmad El-Assasy Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has strongly rejected recent claims by the Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief that Pakistani aircraft were destroyed during Operation Sindoor, calling the assertions 'implausible' and 'ill-timed.' In a sharp statement posted on social media, Asif said it was 'ironic' that senior Indian military officers were being 'used as the faces of monumental failure caused by the strategic shortsightedness of Indian politicians.' He noted that for three months after the operation, no such claims had been made, while Pakistan had presented 'detailed technical briefings' to international media and independent observers. According to Asif, credible sources — including world leaders, senior Indian politicians, and foreign intelligence assessments — acknowledged that India had lost multiple aircraft, including Rafales, during the operation. He stressed that 'not a single Pakistani aircraft was hit or destroyed', while Pakistan allegedly destroyed six Indian jets, S-400 air defence batteries, unmanned aircraft, and put several Indian airbases out of action. The minister claimed that Indian forces suffered 'disproportionately heavier' losses along the Line of Control (LoC). He challenged India to open its aircraft inventories to independent verification, arguing such transparency would 'lay bare the reality India seeks to obscure.' Asif warned that 'wars are not won by falsehoods but by moral authority, national resolve and professional competence,' adding that 'comical narratives' crafted for domestic politics risk dangerous miscalculations in a nuclearised South Asia.
