Jo Malone's new ‘uplifting and classy' perfume is an Italian holiday in a bottle
After departing her namesake brand in 2006, Jo Malone launched Jo Loves, a new fragrance brand that specialises in niche perfumes. The latest fragrance to hit the Jo Loves shelves is an ode to summer, and guaranteed to make you feel like you're soaking up the sun even if you have no plans on leaving the UK.
The brand new Jo Loves With Love from Como A Fragrance has finally landed on the shelves, and was inspired by Jo's memories of summers on Italy's Lake Como. A 'celebration of dolce vita', the new perfume invokes feelings of breezy days, sparkling water and sun-drenched skin – everything you could want from a summer fragrance.
Floral and garden-inspired Yardley perfumes reduced to £11 in little-known 80% off scent sale
'I found the perfect summer perfume that smells like a tropical holiday and lasts all day'
The new perfume is available at both Space NK and directly from Jo Loves for £135 and is part of the brand's exclusive Studio Juice collection. With Love from Como is a unisex fragrance that recreates the vibrancy of sunny days in Italy and brings you a little glimmer of summer every time you wear it.
With Love from Como opens with crisp notes of mandarin, rhubarb and grapefruit for a zesty, citrus scent. It has heart notes of basil and tamarind to give it a more aromatic and subtly spicy depth, before finishing with base notes of cedarwood and musk for an earthy feel that's long lasting.
The perfume is sure to be a hit with fans of the original Jo Malone fragrances, particularly if you love the Orange Blossom Cologne, £118, which is said to be one of Kate Middleton's go-to perfumes. The Orange Blossom scent also combines zesty clementine flowers and orange blossom with water lily and warm undertones of orris and balsamic vetiver.
You can also pick up similar orange-based scents with Phlur's Tangerine Boy for £99, which is both zesty and spicy with notes of lemon, ginger, black pepper, tangerine and apple. For a more budget-friendly pick, The Body Shop's Full Orange Blossom Eau de Parfum is £42 and is infused with orange blossom absolute from Egypt.
However With Love from Como has already been a big hit with fans, with one Space NK shopper writing: 'This scent is super fresh and bright, like citrusy air on a warm day. It opens with a clean, watery feel and settles into something soft and slightly floral. It's not overpowering but still noticeable, and I get compliments when I wear it. A great daytime fragrance that feels effortless and breezy.'
Over on Jo Loves, another reviewer called it: '"Memories of Italy - uplifting and classy" before adding: 'The box is fabulous, then on opening the box I was greeted with a beautiful scene of Como on the bottle and just like this scene the fragrance is classy, fresh, uplifting and addictive, provoking memories of our Italian trip last year. The fragrance doesn't last very long on my skin (which isn't unusual), so I also spray my clothes. As we are having such wonderful weather at the moment, a spray of Como, close your eyes and you will be transported to an Italian memory.'
One did mention, however: 'Very disappointing after last years special edition sell out 'With Love From Positano'. This years 'With Love From Como' is very light on the citrus with strong tones of cut grass. It's pleasant but not for me. An expensive purchase which sadly will not get used. Bring back 'With Love From Positano' please!'
But another disagreed saying it was "Summer in a bottle" and adding: 'What a wonderful scent. It is full of citrus and is so fresh. Great to have a scent that lasted and didn't wear off quickly.'

Race Across The World star's heartbreaking wish before tragic death at 24
Sam Gardiner appeared on the BBC show Race Across The World alongside his mother, Jo, in 2020, and during that time, he opened up about their relationship and his hopes for his future Race Across The World star Sam Gardiner has tragically died at the age of 24 after he was involved in a car crash in Manchester last week, which his family have described as a 'terrible accident.' It comes just a few years after he appeared on the second series of the BBC adventure show with his mum, Jo, and during that time, he made a heartbreaking wish for his future. Sam was 19 years old when he joined Race Across the World with his mum, which saw them embark on a seven-week journey from Mexico City's Chapultepec Castle to Ushuaia in Argentina. They reflected on their experience, noting how it had strengthened their bond. Sam described their venture as "life-changing", telling his mum: "How many 19-year-olds can say they've done this and travelled with their mum?". Jo replied: "I think just you, really. We've got long journeys, you're trying to balance it with enjoying yourself, but also have a budget, there's bound to be stresses. But I think our relationship is still in tact even if you find me slightly more irritating that you used to." She added: "This has been really great fun." But before they started their memorable trip, Sam made an admission with a wish for his future. He shared: "To create some memories with my mum will be one of the best things. I'm so happy to be doing it with my mum." He added: "It's what I'll be able to live by and tell my kids when I go travelling with them." The clip was shared at the time in a Facebook post by BBC Two, which read: "This is so moving! The story of 19-year-old Sam, who's travelling with his mum Jo, is giving us all the feels." News of Sam's passing was confirmed over the weekend, with his parents issuing a heartwrenching tribute. His devasted dad, Andrew Gardiner, wrote in a statement: "We are devastated by the loss of our beloved son Sam in a terrible accident. "Sam left us far too soon, and whilst words will never fully capture the light, joy and energy he brought into our lives, we hold on to the memories that made him so special. Sam was adored by his family. As a son, brother and nephew, he was loyal, funny and fiercely protective." Noting that his son was genuine during his time on the BBC show, Andrew added: "Race Across The World opened his eyes to the wonder of adventure and travel. He was willing to go wherever the trail might lead, and he touched everyone he met on the road. "He found great happiness working as a landscape gardener on the west coast of Scotland. Sam brought warmth, laughter and a smattering of chaos wherever he went. "He leaves behind a huge hole in our hearts. We will miss him endlessly, but we'll also remember him with smiles, tall tales, and a depth of love that will never fade." Following the devastating news, a Race Across the World spokesperson said: "Everyone who worked with him and indeed everyone who watched Sam could see just how precious and transformative the trip was for both him and his mum, Jo. "Sam threw himself into the seven-week trip with boundless enthusiasm, affection, and unwavering resolve, which led to him and his mum enjoying incredible adventures across Mexico and Argentina, captivating audiences with their unique bond and charm. "Since filming, both Sam and Jo have been an integral part of the Race Across the World cast family and on behalf of us all from the BBC, production and the rest of the cast, we would like to extend our deepest condolences to his parents, Andrew and Jo; his brothers, William and Charlie; his step mum Justine; his family and friends."

Boots shoppers rave about 'perfect for summer' designer perfume now 50% off
"A light summer perfume with subtle rose, perfect for the day or evening" Boots customers are singing praises for a designer fragrance that's 'perfect for summer' and currently discounted online. Those who have already snapped up the 'light' perfume insist it's 'long-lasting' and suitable for all ages. A 50ml bottle of Emporio Armani Diamonds Rose Eau de Toilette usually sells for £47, but shoppers can nab it with a whopping 50% saving for a limited time, bringing the total down to £23.50. First launched in 2013, Emporio Armani Diamonds Rose is a floral fruity scent designed for warm weather wear. The refreshing aroma opens with sparkling notes of bergamot, raspberry and blackcurrant. The perfume's floral heart comprises rose, lily of the valley and freesia, while the base is formed of patchouli and ambrette seeds. The result? A fragrance hailed as 'beautiful but not overpowering'. If you're on the hunt for a more musky scent with a hint of rose, Glossier's You Eau de Parfum might be a better fit. Priced at £70 for a 50ml bottle at Space NK, the fragrance has been formulated as a skin scent enhancer, meaning it adapts to each wearer. Alternatively, for a true floral bouquet aroma, Kayali's Fleur Majesty Rose Royale is available at Cult Beauty, with a 50ml bottle costing £79. This fragrance features a mix of sweet-smelling florals intertwined with warm, citrusy notes. Emporio Armani Diamonds Rose is sparkling with positive feedback, boasting an impressive 4.6 out of five-star rating from over 80 reviews. A thrilled customer shared: "A light summer perfume with subtle rose, perfect for the day or evening. Special offer made it a good buy." Another fan expressed their adoration, saying: "I love this perfume, it's light, floral and perfect for summer. Its my favourite scent so I was very happy it was on offer. I'm in my sixties but its great for all ages I would say." Someone else chimed in with high praise: "One of my all time favourites," adding, "I love this perfume, the rose edition adds that extra sweetness. I had the perfume as a gift and would definitely repurchase. The scent lasts a long time on my skin and the packaging is really special." However, not everyone was completely satisfied; one buyer gave it a three-star review, noting: "A bit too heavy for me. I like light floral and bought it as it said rose eau de toilette but I couldn't smell any rose." Yet another shopper was delighted with their Boots find, remarking: "I love this fragrance, I only have three to four favourite perfumes and this is one of them. Many people have even stopped me asking what the name of my perfume is, so many recently lately that I am sure this I've boosted the sale of Rose Diamonds. I'm happy to see this price as now I can afford to feel special even at work."
