Four-star edge defender to visit Nebraska in April
Class of 2027 four-star edge defender Zane Rowe will visit Nebraska on April 26. This was reported by On3's Chad Simmons on Thursday.
He will visit Georgia on March 13, Baylor on March 22, TCU on April 4, and SMU on April 5, with Nebraska getting the final visit on April 26.
According to the On3 recruiting rankings, Rowe is the sixth-ranked edge defender in the 2027 class and the 10th-ranked player in his class from the state of Texas.
He had 75 tackles and nine sacks as a sophomore last season. He also recorded five pass deflections and a fumble recovery in 13 games, per statistics from Maxpreps.com.
Currently, the 2027 Nebraska football recruiting class has zero commitments. Nevertheless, offers have been going out in waves over the last few weeks. The Huskers have made it a point to emphasize recruiting in this class, with multiple visits scheduled for this summer.
Matt Rhule and the Nebraska football coaching staff have historically recruited well in the state of Texas. One has to wonder if that will help them in this recruitment.

Xavien Howard on why he chose the Colts after a year away: 'Being with Coach Lou again'

INDIANAPOLIS -- Xavien Howard was on a potential Hall-of-Fame pace through his first eight seasons. By his ninth, he didn't have a team to play for. Entering his 10th, he's with the Colts. And he has a chance to start again. "I knew it was coming," Howard said before his second practice in Indianapolis. "I just had to stay ready. I was expecting a call." It took a leap of faith, from Howard for a year and for the Colts in the past week, to make this pairing happen. He said he passed on an opportunity to sign with a team last year because it wasn't the right fit. The Colts became that fit after a rash of injuries hit the position group they've loaded up the most this offseason under new defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, who brings a secondary focus. They signed All-Pro Charvarius Ward and spent a third-round draft pick on Minnesota rookie Justin Walley to pair with him on the outside, only for Walley to suffer a torn ACL in training camp. Indianapolis also lost Jaylon Jones and JuJu Brents for weeks to hamstring injuries, though both returned for Wednesday's practice. Samuel Womack, who started eight games for the Colts as a waiver claim last season, hurt what appeared to be his hamstring in Tuesday's practice. Rather than trust the position temporarily to an undrafted rookie in Jonathan Edwards entirely, Indianapolis placed a call to a former first-team All-Pro to pair with the former second-team All-Pro in Ward. The two sides agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $5 million. Howard took both the call and the opportunity because this one had something different about it. "Being with Coach Lou again," Howard said. Anarumo was the secondary coach of the Dolphins when they drafted Howard in the second round out of Baylor in 2016. He started six of seven games played as a rookie and then every game in their second season together, when he intercepted four passes. 'The one thing that always jumped off the tape at me when he was at Baylor, the reason he was drafted so high is he can go get the ball,' Anarumo said. 'He's proven that throughout his NFL career, that he's been an elite interceptor.' MORE:Why Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo believes CB Xavien Howard can still help Howard has 29 interceptions in eight seasons, including when he led the league with seven in 2018 and 10 in 2020. He last reached the Pro Bowl in 2022 before he suffered a foot injury late in the 2023 season that led to his exit from Miami. But in him and Ward, the Colts could have two starting outside cornerbacks with elite backgrounds at getting their hands on the ball. Ward has 30 pass breakups over the past two seasons, ranking second in the NFL. Between those two in the nickel will be Kenny Moore II, another Pro Bowler with 20 career interceptions. And behind them is a new addition in free safety Camryn Bynum, who has eight interceptions in four seasons. As Anarumo looks to put his stamp on the secondary and the defense as a whole to retool a unit that struggled mightily in coverage down the stretch last season, Howard became a veteran he felt he could trust. And that feeling was reciprocated. "My first two years in the league, I grew up with him with the Miami Dolphins," Howard said. INSIDER:10 thoughts on Colts starting Daniel Jones and what it means for Anthony Richardson Sr. The Colts had a few pieces of Howard's background to work through in the decision. The first was about what he had to offer at a position built so much on athleticism as he turned 32 and had a year off of football. But after working out for what he calls a year straight, Howard wants to put the rust narrative to rest. "I feel that's people perspective, man. Gilly, I think Year (8), he was Defensive Player of the Year," Howard said of Stephon Gilmore, who played here in 2022. "Depending on how you prepare and take care of your body, if you play at a high level, you know how the game goes, you've been in the league for a minute, it's really mentally for guys when they get older. It's not as much using your speed or your athleticism." The other questions were about off-the-field issues Howard has dealt with in recent years. He was arrested and charged with domestic battery in 2019, but the charges were dropped, ESPN reported. Then last summer, he was accused in a lawsuit of sending a sexually explicit photograph of a teenager's mother to her son because she refused to get an abortion, ESPN reported, along with secretly recording himself having sex with another woman and showing the images to others. No criminal charges were filed relating to the lawsuit. "It was cleared up," Howard said. "Teams definitely asked about the lawsuit and stuff like that. I feel like it played a part in (the wait to sign a deal), so I wanted to wait until all the legal battles were over with." Howard is here now, and he's shaking off the rust one practice at a time ahead of the Sept. 7 season opener against a familiar team in the Dolphins. "I already knew who was Week 1," he said with a laugh. As for whether he can take on a workload of more than 60 snaps in that game? "For sure. For sure. For sure," Howard said. "Yes, sir."

Oklahoma Sooners offensive lineman named to freshman All-American team by On3

The Oklahoma Sooners' offensive line has been one of the more talked-about positions this offseason after a 2024 season that dealt with injuries and inconsistencies up front. There's a lot more stability in Bill Bedenbaugh's unit as it returns four players who started games for Oklahoma last year and a number of talented transfers and blue-chip prospects. On a unit that is looking to remind everyone what Oklahoma football looks like, one player has stood out since his arrival as part of the 2025 recruiting class: former five-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi. Fasusi was named to On3's preseason freshman All-American team ahead of the 2025 season. Fasusi was one of the more sought-after players in the cycle. Fasusi has received a lot of praise since joining the Sooners and could be in line for some significant snaps in 2025. As offensive tackles Jacob Sexton and Derek Simmons have been dealing with concussion symptoms during fall camp, Fasusi has received a ton of first-team snaps up front. He may not start the season running with the first-team offensive line when Sexton is back at left tackle, but as happy as offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh has been with Fasusi's progress in his first year in the program, it wouldn't be surprising to see the five-star freshman taking a starting role at some point this year. The internet goes wild after 5-star RB Savion Hiter commits to Michigan football

It was a long wait to see what he would do, but Savion Hiter finally decided that Ann Arbor is his new home. Michigan football's No. 1 target in the 2026 is also the No. 1 running back in the country. The five-star running back -- rated the No. 9 player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite -- ended up choosing the Wolverines over Tennessee, Ohio State, and Georgia in an emotional ceremony in Virginia on Tuesday, thus closing one of the most high-profile recruitments in the 2026 cycle. Now that Hiter is a Wolverine, there were naturally some big reactions to the news. Here are some of our favorite reactions on X (formerly Twitter).
